Wylie Karate
Our after school program is an excellent alternative to daycare or other after school programs. Our summer day camps are an excellent way for kids to spend the summer and a great alternative to daycare. With over 90 years of combined experience in multiple martial arts styles, we can provide our students with a wide range of classes and services.

From our Little Tiger program to our youth programs, students of almost any age can find a class for them to our evening adult classes. We teach skills that can save lives. In addition to self-defense, your child and their friends have an opportunity to practice life skills. Wylie Karate has been great for our kids.
Services
Our organization's head gave this to us because Wylie Karate is Christian based on the core belief that we are human beings and God's Creation first, and martial artists and everything else second. We want to train good people who will not misuse the art of self-defense that we teach. We encourage the mindset of giving back to the community and looking out for one another.
We are creating Champions in Life for Life while focusing on a winning attitude, behavior, and character. We believe in learning self-defense and increasing our student's physical abilities beyond what they think they are capable of accomplishing. Our after school classes provide a safe, fun, and structured alternative to daycare and provides a constructive daily after school activity for your children.
Our dojo (martial arts school) is opened from 7:00 am-6:30 pm on teacher days and most holiday breaks. Parents may use this facility instead of a daycare but not as a daycare; this means students must attend the classes. Wylie Karate, LLC is a Martial Arts school and not a daycare; as such, our stock-in-trade is not supervision and care.
At Wylie Karate, it is our goal to bring together families in a fun, dynamic way while also teaching them the life-saving skill of self-defense so that our students can be champions for life. Having families all taking a class together can be a part of each other's growth while building a stronger sense of family and giving everyone a common interest to build on and discuss together.
There are no trophies and no referees in real life, and an attacker isn't just trying to score another point. We teach family - and life - protection arts. If you have a body, you can learn self-defense. Flexibility is gained over time; learning new things isn't just for younger people, and while unfortunately, no-one should have to use self-defense, it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

For the limited time I attended this place, (pre-covid), I was far less than impressed. While I can't speak for the after school program, and my own child seemed to enjoy their evening class, the adults evening classes never felt worth the time and money. I felt as though I had to keep going to class because I had no good excuse to be there at the same time as my child and not participate, but I feel I would have made better use of the time waiting on my phone for their class to finish. I believe the adult class is taught by the head instructor and owner of the business, which is odd because out

We love this place. The family owned business is great to deal with and the owners work to make sure each kid enjoys there stay. The all day programs over the summer and the after school programs are great. The kids learn discipline and respect.
My wife enjoyed her class as well. I highly recommend this place.

What started out as a neat and fun after-school program for our son, quickly turned into so much more, not just for for him, but our family. I enjoyed seeing what my son was learning, enough so, that I decided to attend the adult class twice a week. Karate has not only become awesome father-son bonding time, but it has been great for our health and overall well-being. The guiding principals and self-defense techniques are great for anyone to know and strive for. The instructors and staff are very knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and fun to be around. They take great care of the kids and

My son started going here on Saturdays only for karate. We liked it so much, he quit his other after school program and is here every weekday. Three days of karate, one of archery, and one of equestrian training. He loves it!
Staff is always friendly and the cost is very reasonable.
