We provide full service property management going above and beyond to take exceptional care of our clients and tenants. The company grew from a strong Foreign Service client base, Mr. Peake having been a 35-year member of the Foreign Service. Many of our clients have worked with us for decades!

Our company foundation initially was comprised of a client base of Foreign Service and military officers. They were the primary landlords of quality single-family homes in the early days.

As is true with all property management companies, major expenses and repairs must be approved by the landlord in advance, and that can take time.
We are moving out soon and I have to write that our experience as a four year tenant in a home managed by Peake has been great. Jeff in Service and Lindsey in leasing have been professional, responsive, friendly and accommodating within the scope of their role as manager between tenant and owner. I think we were fortunate to have an Owner willing to fix the critical maintenance items without delay, and I do recommend Peake as a management.

I have lived in a Peake Management house the last 7 years and Peake management was always there at the drop of a hat for me. It is the best living experience my dog and I have had to date. The house and yard were great. We had a new AC put in as well as heating system and washer/dryer combo over our tenure no questions asked. As a renter I always feared having to worry about these things but they were there no issues. I checked other websites for reviews for this company and they were very positive. I see the ratings here on yelp are a little more indicative of my experience. Luckily, I didn't make it far enough into the process to rent from this company. I just made an inquiry into one of their listings and, after trying 4 phone numbers on their site just to get a person on the phone, happened to reach Lindsey Peake. I helped my sister go through the entire pre-move in then physical move in process and then spent the past couple weeks enjoying her new Home with her Managed by the Peake Team who treated us like Royalty. Courtney has been our property manager for almost 10 years and she does an amazing job. She consistently updates us when our property is in tenant transition or in need of repair/routine maintenance, and is never impatient when we ask a thousand questions. If I could have included zero stars, I would. I’m simply posting because I hope to prevent someone else from enduring what each of the tenants I’ve known and myself have experienced - I wish I read the negative reviews before moving into the property. While I’ve endured months without AC, mice infestation in the fridge and dishwasher Peake refused to replace when recommended a year prior, mold residue, flooding, sewage backup, roof damage... the owners are left with a once beautiful house that I’ve seen be completely neglected and destroyed over the years. I was a tenant for four years in a McLean townhouse managed by Peake Management. I have to say they were the best I've ever worked with. As a renter, I don't have an extensive knowledge of handyman services nor am I a do-it-yourself-er. While I take pride in taking care of the landlord's property, there were several instances over the years when I had to contact Peake. Jackie was always prompt in her responses and provided fast and efficient solutions to the problems I had been experiencing. What a great company.
I rented my property on my own for about 2 years, what a headache.
Tenants calling me day and night. I switched over to Peake and they take care of everything. Reasonably priced and great service. I would highly recommend their services.

Peake Management never informed us the unit we were renting was going to be listed. When I pressed the property management contact about this, I was told that whenever a lease isn't renewed a property is automatically listed. The reason I even contacted Peake Management was because a lockbox was placed on our door, without any notice.

We've been renting for 2 years and they mostly left us a lone which was great, but when it comes to exiting they make it extremely difficult, they don't do what they're legally obligated to (like telling us directly that the place would be listed

Peake Management is a joke. We moved into a house that had rat nests in the attic, the carpets and the walls were dirty and the locks didn't work. We tried to get out of the lease by pointing out these issues and they gave us a really hard time. We were forced to hire a lawyer and complain with the county about code violations. We had to hire our own pest inspector which helped corroborate our complaints. This company should not be doing business. We ended up getting a refund for the security deposit and the first month's rent, but we ended up paying for the lawyer and the pest

Read previous reviews and I’m in complete disbelief that Peake Management could have any good reviews. They are ok with small work order request however when it comes to more serious issues they completely disregard tenants and federal housing laws and allow the problems to become extremely dangerous. For 3 years I had mentioned issues with black mold in the bathroom which they ignored until it finally colminated into a major disaster. 1)We had leased a house from Peak Management. The lease said that if the lease ran out they we could do a month to month rental. They contacted us 4 months before the lease expiry date. Since we did not know what the situation would be 4 months down the line we asked for more time. They gave us a month and then extended it by a month. We were waiting on the job contract renewal and asked for 15 more days. They refused and put the house on market.
2)They had people come over to see the house while we were living there. We had specially requested that they call us before a showing but we had people

During our stay in McLean Hills, our property manager, Jackie Griffin, was amazing to work with. As long as you followed Peake's processes, she was quick to resolve any issues and respond to any concerns we had. Jackie is an example of what a TOP rated property manager should be. When I begin to invest in properties, I personally will be looking for Jackie to manage my rental.

I rented from a property in Falls Church managed by Peake for 3 years. No complaints..they were easily reached during business hours, responded to maintenance requests promptly and were flexible with our move-out date.

I remember they waived a late fee once since it was my first time paying rent late which was greatly appreciated. Just want to chime in with my positive experience given all the negative reviews here.

Edit: I'd also like to add that they currently use the appfolio website to manage their property. Paying rent and submitting maintenance requests online is a great convenience

Quite bad, and getting worse. Our family is planning to move out -- after originally planning to stay for years -- based in part on Peake performance. "Peake performance"? -- not at all!

We're middle-aged, self-employed and stable, and we're renting a pricey townhouse in a lovely area, but...we never expected to deal with (among other things) an Arlington County code violation, requiring multiple repairs.

This is a short 'placeholder' review. If our upcoming move out goes as poorly as I suspect it will, we will publish a full review in the next month or so.

Agree with everything stated below. They are horrible to rent from. My husband and I moved into a dirty, cockroach infested, broken house and left the house in excellent condition and they charged us outrageous prices for things that we had marked on our move in list.

The first red flag was when we had a cockroach baby infestation shortly after we moved in. I called them to let them know and they said it was our responsibility to take care of, which we did. However, when the pest control came they told us that they had been treating the house before we moved in and because we didn't continue

From identifying qualified tenants to managing my home, Peake has shown diligence and professionalism the entire time. Their staff was polite and knowledgeable, and proved to have valuable relationship with dependable contractors. When we needed repairs/updates on the inside & outside of the house, our property manager Tina, provided us with multiple competing estimates, scheduled & monitored the work, and made sure it was completed to satisfaction all in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Peake to other home owners in need of a property manager.

Peake Management is by far the worst housing management company I have ever dealt with, which is saying something considering I went to school in Norfolk, VA and have had my fair share of unprofessional management companies. On top of the nonexistent team and their ignorant Property Managers, Peake was never available when we needed help and completely unresponsive to all of our emails and calls. When it was time to move out, they over charged us and took almost all of our security deposit back for little things around the house that we requested help to fix the very first week we moved in.

Military on PCS Orders, had a large dog and couldn't find anything worth my time! Robert Zimmerman helped me out by working with the landlord and getting things smoothed out with the condo HOA, one of the best experiences I've ever had. ALSO, I needed to get in the unit as soon as possible and the company jumped through hoops so I didn't hemorrhage too much money on hotel costs. Thanks Mrs. Tina.

I would NEVER recommend Peake Management as a property manager to any potential renter. My experience with them was one of continuous frustration! First, even though they were required to provide me with an inspection report within days of my moving in, I didn’t receive one. Weeks after I moved in, I had to do my own inspection to address the problems that I was able to assess. And yes, they would send 3rd rate contractors to make repairs, and within a short time the items would break again. So they would send the same 3rd rate contractors to fix the broken items again…and again. Whenever I
