Services
Practicing yoga poses improves strength, flexibility and balance, and helps us achieve our best health, function, and enjoyment of life. Compassion begins at home. As we practice poses, we learn to listen and make good choices, no matter our age or ability. This helps us develop compassion for ourselves, which then spreads to other beings.
Julie has devoted her career of 40+ years to helping people ease pain and live their best lives through the integration of physical therapy and yoga. She founded and directed Gudmestad Yoga, making yoga classes and individual therapy sessions available to people of all ages and abilities. The studio has now become Paxson Yoga Center, and Julie continues to be involved by teaching classes and guiding the ongoing evolution of the studio.
This class is designed to address the needs and desires of students who would like to enjoy the benefits of yoga without getting down to the floor. Practice will focus on sitting and standing poses, with an emphasis on core strength, flexibility, and balance. Limited to 12 students and taught by a Physical Therapist with a specialty in rehabilitation and aging populations.

I haven't used the studio for yoga but have come over the years for physical therapy. The therapist are the best I have ever been to.

I've attended a lot of yoga classes in my life. Gudmestad is the best. I'm constantly impressed by the depth of knowledge of yoga as well as physiology and physical therapy. I've wrestled with back problems for 20 years. Julie was the first person to zero in on the problem and provide a path to recovery.
