Joe Callahan & Nancy Galloway started the company with the idea to provide the smaller investment property owner a management company willing to handle a single property or small group of rental units. Auben Galloway joined the team of partners in Spring 1999. Founding partners, Joe Callahan and Nancy Galloway, have both since retired.
We do require all deposits to be paid-in-full upon lease signing First month rent will be due when you pick up keys for move-in. Primarily for our agents safety - we need to know who we are showing! We also require the application process to precede the showing in an effort to better serve our qualified applicants.

The staff was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about their properties. With that said, I wasn't a fan of being charged an application fee before even seeing a property. They required applications before they provided property showings, which I think is unnecessary and a waste of money after my experience. When I asked why applications were required, they gave me the following reasons:
1. Some houses are currently occupied.
2. They're "concerned and cautious to send out female agents for property showings".
3. It's a "regular pre-approval process".
4. The application is "offered at a competitive

I would never recommend this company. Very unprofessional, and rude. They lied to me about not needing a certain credit score to qualify and then denied my application based on credit score after I paid app fee. I heard from others who have rented from them that they never fix things when requested and when they finally do they just “band-aid” it. I would give zero stars if possible

These guys are sharks that prey on college students. I lived in a house where they split utilities, and during that time they would wait to post three months of utilities at once which was a financial burden to pay. Not to mention the dump I lived in was in need of serious repairs, but they rarely addressed my concerns without at least three or four calls begging them to fix the problem. This would include basic utilities not working or flat out watching the house fall apart.
In short, don’t rent from them. These guys rip off and prey on college students and they don’t feel bad about it.

I’ve been renting a house through C&G for about 4 years now (this will be my last year). The house is an older house, C&G was always there for us with any concerns and was quick to fix any issues, if there were any. They have always been kind to us and good at communication. Each year we got a new roommate and C&G was very accommodating and easy to work with. I would rent from them in the future and highly recommend them to my peers. This was my first rental experience and it was a good one.

I never leave reviews like this honestly but this irked me. After filling out an application with a fee just to view a property they denied me on the grounds that I am self-employed. I provided five bank statements and have enough verifiable income to pay a year’s rent in full. In other states it is illegal to deny housing based on type of employment, if we were in a different state you’d be dealing with a legal complaint instead of a one star review. Why they would prefer to rent to someone who lives paycheck to paycheck than somebody who could afford to buy the place is just strange.

I rented from Callahan and Galloway for about two years and have nothing but good things to say. I got a job offer out of state that I couldn’t pass up and had to move out before my lease was up, and Auben and team were so helpful and accommodating. Even before that, they were so helpful with any maintenance issue and arrived to fix everything quickly and treated me like family. I was actually sad to be leaving my little apartment simply because you won’t find property management companies like Callahan and Galloway. I was a long term Callahan & Galloway tenant, and the only good thing about my experience was the property I rented (which they don't even own).
Complete lack of customer service from Callahan & Galloway... Maybe they're too big and they've lost their touch? If you really want a particular property they manage I guess that's fine, but I would not recommend Callahan & Galloway to my friends and family based on their poor customer care.

I moved to Columbia the beginning of the month and Callahan & Galloway has helped make this move as easy as possible from start to finish.
I know when I first came across the company I had read reviews about the $20 application fee required up front before you see the properties. At first I thought it was a little weird too but I actually ended up loving it. First of all I've spent $20 on coffee in a week. After 5+ years of interaction with Callahan & Galloway, I have nothing but praise to give to them. Not only have I rented from them, but my daughter has, and because I was so pleased with them, I always recommend them to my friends whenever they are looking for a new place to live.
Professionalism is key for me which they clearly have demonstrated. Communication was never an issue with them, and any maintenance issues were always addressed in a timely manner.

It is extremely rare to find landlords that really care, but these people are great! When I looked at apartments with Mrs. Galloway, she was very helpful. I told her I needed to move in basically the next day since I had just found out I got into the graduate program at MU on short notice. They asked the current tenant if it was okay to clean the apartment that day since he had already moved out and hadn't cleaned up after himself. When I moved in, it wasn't spotless, and I didn't expect it to be after just a day's notice, but it was definitely better than when I first saw it.
