Fred Finch Youth & Family Services seeks to provide innovative, effective services supporting children, youth, young adults, and families to heal from trauma and lead healthier, productive lives. At Fred Finch, these values are not just what we say, but what we do. You can see it in every program. Our staff is compassionate and committed, resourceful with your donations, innovative in our solutions.

We work with young people to overcome multiple and simultaneous challenges, including homelessness, economic disadvantage, mental health and cognitive disabilities, and histories of significant trauma and loss.
Services
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services offers unconditional care, support and opportunity to children, youth, young adults, and their families who face complex challenges from one or more of the following: mental or emotional impairment; developmental disability; trauma and abuse, some at a very young age; alcohol or other drug use; poverty; exclusion; discrimination and stigma.
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services has been providing intensive community-based mental health services for youth in homes, schools, and clinics for over two decades. Characterized by accessible, trauma-informed, and intensive support, mental health services are provided to youth at risk of placement disruption, whether from natural, foster family, or group home care.
A true innovator in the development of housing opportunities for youth with emotional disturbance, Fred Finch Youth & Family services continues its leadership in the field with the development of Rising Oaks, which provides a new lease on life for 30 foster youth aging out of the child welfare system.
Designed to complement Fred Finch housing programs, the transition programs provide vocational and educational connections, mental health support, and linkage to other community supports. Many of the youth accessing these services are former foster children, who bring with them histories of abuse, neglect, and complex emotional and physical health needs.
At Fred Finch Youth & Family Services we understand that sometimes outpatient care isn't enough. Living environments can sometimes be more harmful than good, or a child is in a temporary state of crisis and is in need of the stability and structure that residential treatment can provide.

Our residential services are designed to provide children and youth with comprehensive, around-the-clock care to help them get to the next stepping-stone in their treatment and farther down the path toward wellness.Avalon is a short stay residential therapeutic program and non-public school for youth ages 12 to 18 with a dual diagnosis of serious emotional disturbance and developmental disability.

My family visited a family member here today. The kids seemed happy, well taken care of and content. The kids were mainly young boys ages 12-18. The staff was very nice and helpful. So far I am happy with what I see. The kids here have autism on some level and the patience the staff has with them is what makes me happy.

Trying to talk to someone took 4 different phone numbers. Get transferred then disconnected twice. Finally talk to Julie and ask about services, and was told they only provide services for children with Autism, no other special needs or disabilities. I asked for a referral to another place and she said 'we don't do that either'.

I have previously used brainlearning (search that) and they are amazing for helping with my sons school stuff!!

My son was referred here through kaiser. I went to bring him here for a 2 week observation/assessment for mental health issues and I couldn't leave him here. First, it's located in a very scary neighborhood. Second, no one has badges and many people have access to him. People can walk in from the streets to this location. It's suppose to be a place for kids and I didn't see any kids there. My son would of been the only kid there? Left is a small house in the back with 2 men that I was introduced to. No curtains in his room, anyone can walk up and look in on him. Def not a place

Amazing organization. They don't just say they help homeless youth and/or at risk youth, they actually do. Even though they are an organization that help youth, they not only help youth, they help their families as well.
