Jeff Kranz is the lead instructor, owner, and janitor of Kranz FTG. He is a current Police Officer/ SWAT Operator/ Sniper in a suburb of north Dallas, TX. He has been a police officer for 25 years, a SWAT operator for 22 years and a sniper for the SWAT team for 20 years. He holds a Master Peace Officer License and is a TCOLE certified instructor, firearms instructor, and Texas Department of Public Safety certified License to Carry Instructor.
He started out teaching with Chris Kyle at Craft International as an adjunct instructor for classes including pistol/carbine, sniper and combative courses. He then became a lead instructor for Craft at several civilian classes with an emphasis on pistol/carbine classes. He has provided training for individuals ranging from private citizens to SWAT and military personnel.

This class will be for those that have little to no experience with handguns, those who were not taught correctly, or those who want to freshen up on their weapon handling skills. We highly recommend taking this class before you take the License To Carry Course if you are not familiar with shooting.
I wanted to thank you for the great class on Saturday. We learned a lot and had so much fun too! I think I could easily become addicted! I was really apprehensive, not only about the shooting test but because I read on your website that you were all Police/SWAT team. My ex-boyfriend is a Police/SWAT Officer and honestly, he was very condescending when he talked to people and I was worried that all Police Officers were the same.

My husband and I took a private 4 hour class. Jeff was a great instructor! I had never picked up a gun before, but by the end of the class I was comfortable and confident with loading and firing the weapon and I was able to hit targets with accuracy. Jeff was knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend this class!

Excellent experience. I took the handgun101 course with Jeff and Brad and learned a lot, and had a lot of fun. Both instructors were patient, thorough and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they taught the fundamentals of safely handling a firearm which was important for me before purchasing my own. I’ll absolutely be back for more classes and instruction. Highly recommend.

I have taken 2 different classes with Jeff, Long Range Precision and Close Quarter Carbine, and have absolutely loved both experiences. Lots of info, guidance and practice - small setting which also allows for greater safety. I’m not new to guns, been hunting and handling weapons for 30+ yrs and still learned so much from them. Can’t wait to find my next Kranz FTG class!

I am now able to practice and improve on my own with a solid understanding of the basics knowing I will be back to learn more.

I have participated in 4 different events with this company so far. I've been to two different range days that were an amazing experience. Contrary to a traditional range (which the cost is about the same), you have much more freedom to practice real world skills. I tagged along to my wife's LTC course. The class was a wealth of knowledge and she got more that just her license out of the experience. Recently, my wife and I attended a private pistol 101 course. We both improved substantially by the end. Jeff did a great at giving instruction that was useful to our different experience levels.

Great instruction for all levels of experience. Attended a course hoping to learn a few tips and tricks, came away reenforcing foundational and advanced skills. Instructors were extremely helpful, knowledgable, experienced, and very patient with beginning shooters as well. Highly recommend Kranz to others and have already signed up for another course.

Excellent group to train with. Although I had some experience with a pistol going into the Handgun 101 (04/24/2021) course, it was quickly surpassed with the excellent instruction received during the class. Pat, Greg and Earle all were great instructors, taking time with each individual to correct any faults, giving sound advice and positive reinforcement. The energy of the class, review of techniques and different drills made for a very fun learning experience. I saw myself improve throughout the different phases of the class and see myself as a better shooter now, and with a greater knowledge
