Worst company ever I emailed to inquire for a rental and honestly he was the rudest person ever.He asked me about my credit which is good he also asked about my renting and if I ever been evicted which I've been in my current house 6 years and never evicted. He asked what me and my friend did for jobs and I told him. So he proceeded to tell me that he felt like we couldn't afford it because he felt like we didn't have money and that he couldn't add our money together because we weren't married .what does that even mean but I would say run don't walk away from this company.

I am a single farther of 8 kids. Larry would only rent to me if I paid a $10,000 security deposit. Even though my credit, rental history and income where great. He charged me $1,995 for a 2 bedroom property in Reynoldsburg. He made me clean and paint the property myself. He made me paint the outside as well as the inside. He did NOT even pay for the materials when I built a garage. But I had to have somewhere to park my car. He did tell me that I did a great job cleaning and he had me clean his house every week. Larry Katz is the worst landlord I've ever had to deal with. Since my father in law passed away a little over a month and a half, Larry Katz has been doing everything he can do push and bully my mother in law outta the house she was currently renting. That house has black mold completely they the entire basement. And threatened to push a 3 day eviction notice. He also has no clue what the Ohio tenant and landlord law is since he tried to use his key to get into the house. I wanted to rent a home from Larry. He told me I could NOT RENT based off my Marital status with my fiancé. THIS IS Marital status discrimination!!!! He also told me I could not rent bc of the place I live in now, rent was on special and I got a great deal based off me moving from out of town! YOU ARE A HUGE FAKE! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! The website also says homes are available and can be viewed anytime. LIES! one home I went to still had tenants! I WAS TRESSPASSING!!!!!!!!

Emailed this company to inquire about a few homes for rent...the response was a "robo" response. This response said i needed to drive by first, then a scheduling to view inside would be made. And that once i saw, and liked a property in order to start application process i would need security deposit and application fee...WHAT? I thought that… couldnt be right. I couldnt drive by first, i would have to view inside and outside all at once, and give an entire SECURITY DEPOSIT JUST TO START PROCESS? Not a professional business. This company is run by Larry Katz but it might as well be ran by a used car salesman. This guy tried to get me to give him $6500 upfront to lease a small 1400 sq. ft home in small town groveport Ohio. The house was dirty, had torn carpeting on the steps, missing light bulbs, stoppers missing in sinks, doors off hinges, paint splattered everywhere, mold on the outside of the house, lawn overgrown and worst of all the neighbor had to tell me about the 240v fire hazard that is exposed on the back of the house. I have been using Larry's assistance for years now and appreciate that they just handle things for me. They are also lease experts which gave me additional protection/safeguards that I would not have known about otherwise. I'm glad that I used their services instead of trying to manage the property on my own. It's a relief to me that they are managing my property.

Larry Katz was a pleasure to work with! I think the gentleman's review below me had unreasonable expectations based on the home being a rental and I have a hard time believing it based on my experiences with Larry. This business is far from the big box realtor pressure and allows you to work locally one on one to your comfort.

I wouldn't even leave a 1 star for this company but I have too. We tried to rent from them and I even offered paying many months in advance. They ran our background check and they seen my husband was African American. The background check was over 32 years and he was never convicted of any felonies and it plainly reads on the background check "not guilty" dismissed yet they told me my husband's background check was lengthy. We've NEVER been evicted from any rentals, never any complaints from landlords, we both are successful, it's never prevented us from renting or obtaining employment yet this

I knew this company was shady and glad I ended the call with Larry! He didn't want me to show up unless I had money orders totaling $5K in hand. No time to think about it, just pay him a stranger right there. Something is not right and I would proceed with great caution...or be like me and not proceed at all!

I am writing this review on behalf of Larry of Columbus Best rentals. Honestly I am shocked to see that their reviews are so low. In no way do I feel this is reflective of the quality of service they provide. Larry has served as my property manager since July of 2012 when my job dictated that I relocate to Cincinnati. During this time my house has had its fair share of issues. Larry instinctively knows when to contact me when there is issue and when to just handle the issue.
The latest issue is when my 15 year old furnace went out. I was able to get Larry on the phone and work through the issue

This place was rude before I even got to the house! I called to check out a place and after going through the normal background check questions (which I have great credit and I dont have a criminal background) she asked me about pets. We have two small dogs and she told me she would get back to me about the fee. She was a little curt in my first conversation with her but I let it go. She called me back and told me it was going to be first months rent (non refundable for the dogs) in addition to the month fee of $65 for both dogs. First off, if you expect to get anyone on the phone the first go around.. forget it. Had to leave two voicemails before I got a response. I was seriously interested in a property for $1400 a month in which I would be living with another person and we would be splitting rent. My expectation was to be able to view the property and apply from there.. kind of like every other rental process ever. Immediately the woman told me that's not an option.

HORRIBLE! The manager refuses to address problems and gets away with violations because they rent single family homes. The house I rented was infested with bed bugs and they dropped down from the attic. I notified the manager promptly but it was past the 7 days that they allowed on their move in report. It was a month before we noticed them dropping from the ceiling. The downstairs toilet was wobbly so they siliconed it to the wall instead of replacing the bolts. It cost me $10 to fix it properly. Of course no reimbursement but that's ok because I don't like to feel like a hula dancer

Was my property manager for a number of years. At first everything was good, he rented out the property quickly, when that lease was up got a new tenant in. Then things went down hill. These people are next to impossible to get on the phone. Rent check's came consistently late. Supposed to be mailed out on the 5th post mark often was much later, often not getting to us till the 12th or later. Our tenant moved out and Larry never bothered to tell us, took multiple calls and almost 2 months to find out why we never received a check to find this out. Wost experience of any customer service I have ever recieved. Asked to see the property 4 different times and would never show the property. The neighbor actually ended up showing us the property that is the only reason we took it. Spoke to the actual owner and Columbus Best Rentals made him lower his monthly rent by $299 because he said nobody even inquired about the property which was not true at all. They would never show it!! There office is a dump! Food and boxes stacked up everywhere! Do not trust your Valuable possession of your house with a company that can't keep there office clean!
