SUNCOAST TANG SOO DO is a member of the WTSDA which practices a form of Korean martial arts that is more than 2,000 years old. As a traditional martial arts studio, we focus on character development as well as physical techniques with a focus on kicks. Tang Soo Do is a martial art that focuses on respect and integrity.
SUNCOAST TANG SOO DO's karate classes offer many physical benefits, but they also help you develop life skills, such as confidence, focus, self-control, and perseverance. In addition, our studio offers family discounts and additional incentives to encourage families to train together. These classes cater to the abilities and attention spans of children aged four to seven.
I have been training at Suncoast Tang Soo Do with my son, Allan, and daughter, Brooke, for over 6 years. It has provided us with the opportunity to study Tang Soo Do in a supportive and encouraging environment, with instructors and fellow students that have come to feel like family. There are many aspects of Tang Soo Do that I feel have helped each of us to grow personally and, as a family.
We provide personalized programs for any size business, corporation or organization. These programs will provide great team building opportunities and attendees will learn personal safety/self defense strategies that can be incorporated into everyday life. All techniques are from the C.O.B.R.A. self-defense academy curriculum, which are proven effective techniques and strategies for individuals of all ages and physical abilities.
We look forward to hearing from you. Our studio is located in Greenbrook Plaza just west of Little Road on the south side of Old CR 54, in the same plaza as Carmelita's Restaurant. Please be sure to include your name, email, phone, and the specific program you are interested in. The COBRA self defense program is fantastic. Our teen daughter will finish her 10 hour training this week and has grown significantly. In fact, she enjoyed the curriculum so much, she invited a group of friends to join her this past Saturday for a mini-Bootcamp session. We plan to continue training with Vic and Doug. Both instructors were patient, supportive, informative, professional and in particular, took the time to create realistic scenarios.

It’s not uncommon to find us bringing up a code or tenet at the dinner table when we’re

My son, began his martial arts journey at Suncoast Tang Soo Do in 2008. He instantly loved it! I am impressed by the highly professional approach and respectful attitude of the training staff, and by the equal emphasis on self-defense skills and strategies, on the one hand, and character-building, on the other hand. Much more then martial arts are taught here; leadership, respect, focus, motivation, discipline, and many other skills that apply to everyday life. Being a part of Suncoast Tang Soo Do and The World Tang Soo Do Assoc has been a blessing. We have an extended family throughout the world

My daughter was 12 years old and I was 39 when we first started karate. We both have learned many great life lessons and real life applications. We both just got promoted to 1st Dan (black belt). The father and daughter experience is one of a kind. My other daughter has since joined and three of us still attend together. Still trying to get my wife to attend, lol.
