At the Gracie Palm Harbor academy we have a 1,200 sq/ft mat space, made up of top of the line Zebra mats. Our academy lobby is equipped with a separate bathroom and locker room, which include a SHOWER and lockers! We also keep both rooms air conditioned, which is great for training in the hot summer months.
In the lobby you will also find plenty of comfortable seating for the family, as well as a 40in' T.V. We pride ourselves in our outstanding cleanliness and general upkeep of the gym, which is evident upon visiting. You only get one body, but when life gets in the way, we forget to give it the attention it deserves.

Services
Tony Way is a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu under Rob Kahn and Joe Wissmann. He has competed in high level jiu jitsu, as well as fought amateur and professional MMA for the last 9 years. Bamboo received his black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu from Rob Kahn, one of the first Americans to earn a black belt under the famed Royce Gracie.
We knew that it would be good exercise and would teach them to respect themselves and others. What we didn't understand was what a profound effect it would have on their self-confidence. Our oldest had been bullied in the past and chose to blend in instead of being herself. Jiu Jitsu has given her the confidence to stand out and she has recently competed in her first tournament.
Brazilian Jiu jitsu is widely accepted as the most efficient form of fighting or self defense. As the sport of mixed martial arts grows rapidly, all professional fighters are obligated to train in Jiu jitsu or the "ground game", as it common knowledge that most fights end up on the ground.
When the first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took place in 1993, ambassadors from the most highly regarded martial arts came to fight and represent their respected sport.Many were surprised when a small, unassuming Brazilian made short work of all his opponents by taking them to the ground and submitting them.

I planned a weekend trip to the Tampa area and discovered that ‘Gracie Palm Harbor’ was only a couple of minutes away from my Air BNB. Doing a quick scan of their extremely well designed website, I decided to reach out in hopes that they accept visitors. Located on their website is a place dedicated to signing up for their trial period that they offer. My son has been going here for over a year and my daughter just recently started the summer camps. All of the coaches are excellent, the facility is clean and I trust them immensely with my children! Tony and Brittany are wonderful people who definitely have our children's best interest in mind. They are teaching them self-confidence, kindness, respect and strength. I would highly recommend Gracie Palm Harbor to anyone who is considering Jiu Jitsu. They are the best!

I know searching for a place to start training martial arts at can certainly be intimidating.
I remember searching on Google trying to see all my options of what place to start training Jiu-jitsu and went an tried out a couple schools before finally visiting Gracie Palm Harbor.
I decided I wanted to make this place my school after my first visit as all the guys here were real nice and took me right in under their wing, no egos, just a big family of people who love Jiu-jitsu want to help everyone get better.

I cannot say enough good about this place. My daughter is 6 years old and has been going here for about a year now. Tony, the instructor, is so great with the kids. He keeps them focused, learning and having fun at the same time. He teaches them a lot about respect and working hard to achieve their goals, which I find invaluable. There are a lot of days the kids classes are offered which is very convenient for our schedule.

Awesome school to learn BJJ at. I had no grappling or wrestling experience before coming here but Coach Tony and the other more experienced students are always super patient and down to help teach and practice until you’re feeling confident. It’s a great atmosphere with nothing but the nicest people.

I just got back from the one week trial they offer newbies like me. The place is clean, and the instructor, Tony, was really knowledgeable. He's an active competitor, so it's good to know that my kids and I are getting training from a pro. Even better though, the culture of the entire gym is super friendly... everyone is there to learn from each other and help each other out. That's really important to me. There were no egos here, and I felt more than welcome to ask as many questions as came to my mind... so I think it's a great place to learn from. It's got my recommendation for sure.
