We are a traditional Kung Fu school with a modern flavor. Traditional means hard training, discipline, and authentic Kung Fu as passed on to us by our masters. It means that you earn your skills through repetition over time, and you advance by merit. It means that we follow Kung Fu traditions of non-violence, respect, and physical/mental improvement.
It means that you will be getting a workout in each class, to improve your strength, speed, flexibility, and endurance. But it also means fun, exciting classes taught by patient instructors. We want you to enjoy your training; it's the Tat Wong way! Kung Fu, the oldest of the martial arts, is the basis of Karate and Taekwondo.

Services
Children from ages 4 to 6 will love our Kung Fu classes. Our patient, professional instructors understand the needs of young children, so classes are fun and exciting, while the young Tiger Team students learn the fundamentals of martial arts. We don't just sit in a circle and talk about bullies! Your child will learn practical martial arts skills in a relaxed, but disciplined atmosphere.
We hope you fall in love with our Kung Fu classes! Our patient, professional instructors understand the needs of young folks and old, so classes are fun and exciting, and students learn the most ancient of martial arts-Kung Fu--in a relaxed but disciplined atmosphere, with just the right mix of tradition and modern.
Why not try something different for your child's birthday? In our large and comfortable training area, your child and his/her guests will take an exciting martial arts class, suitable to all levels and ages. Our parties are very popular, and appropriate for kids from 4 and up. We start with a Kung Fu class, and then a series of fun games followed by snacks, cake (cut with a Kung Fu sword), ice cream, and presents.
After your Introductory Course you'll sit down with an Instructor who will design a program to meet your goals and your budget. Your investment is in your personal, physical, and mental development! No, you don't. Our Introductory course and Beginner's class will ease you into the discipline of training and the initial exercises.

The Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy of Middletown is a wonderful school, with deep ties to the community.
I've been a student there for a couple years now, and both the students and the instructors have made me feel incredibly welcome.
The instructors are patient, knowledgeable and friendly. It's a great environment to learn in if you are new to martial arts or even if you are a veteran looking to being training again after some time away.

Caring and deeply knowledgeable teachers set the tone at Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy on Washington St. in the heart of Middletown. Sifu Daniel, a Wesleyan grad, brings decades of experience to the Tat Wong community. As newcomers, you will be immediately reminded that kung fu is a *martial* art: the focus in the early stages is on discipline and self-restraint. This may not suit every family, but Daniel works hard to make his program accommodate the greatest number of students. My brother has been coming here for a rather long time now, and he’s recently attained his Brown belt, and is going to states down in Florida this summer. All of the instructors are kind and knowledgeable and do their best to teach their students as efficiently as possible, the building is always clean and all the supplies/weapons or mats they use are always well maintained and carefully used so no one gets hurt.
Not only does the school offer the chance to learn kungfu but it always gives an exemplary chance to preform at states, and nationals along with interstate tournaments.

Tat Wong Kung Fu in Middletown has become an extended community for my family. If you want to learn true Kung Fu, this is the place to be. If you're interested in getting fit, gaining discipline and achieving your goals? STILL the place for you. We signed our son up for classes and truly, it's been one of the best decisions we've made. Watching his confidence, strength and bravery blossom has been a gift!

We have been going to the Tat Wong Kung fu Academy for 3.5 years and love it. The classes always have a great ratio of students per instructor to provide directed attention to each student. The promotions are earned through hard work. The schedule makes it easy for parents/students to find classes that fit their schedule. The school has a great community of parents and kids. I highly recommend it for kids of all ages and adults as well.

I am impressed with my grandsons knowledge and performance in such a short period of time. I have noticed a change in his confidence as well as attitude since he started about 6 months ago.
I appreciate the patience as well as the dedication all the instructors and student aids have shown him.

I can’t say enough great things about the academy! Both of my sons have been taking kung fu classes there for the past 3 years and the level of in- and out-of class engagement, professionalism, and dedication is truly impressive. The instructors are exceedingly knowledgeable and genuinely caring about their student’s progress.
