Sun Yoga Hawaii
Sun Yoga Hawaii is a locally owned and operated yoga studio located at Aina Haina Shopping Center. We specialize in improving the overall health and well-being of each practitioner through the ancient practice of yoga, the spirit of aloha, and positive connections with our community.

Our use of infrared heat in our signature Sun Yoga classes helps the body detoxify by sweating, balancing metabolism, facilitating weight loss, increasing circulation, relieving joint pain, and improving cardiovascular health, tissue elasticity, beautification of the skin, stress relief, and relaxation.
Services
Sun Yoga is my favorite yoga studio in Honolulu. The infrared heat is cleansing and healing. It's a great place to start and/or finish the day. There are many class times available from early morning till 7:30 pm. There are also a variety of classes including heated and low heat hatha classes as well as yin which is slower and meditative.
Practice a minimum of 4 classes a week to experience wellness that comes with a consistent Sun Yoga lifestyle. Our beginners usually come in thinking that yoga will help them increase flexibility. It's true, yoga does help increase flexibility. However, it does much more than that. It is a powerful tool of self-transformation in many levels.
Sun Sculpt consists of 10-minute yoga warm-up, 40-minute of Sculpt (strength training exercises) and a 10-minute yoga cool down. This class will boost your metabolism and build lean muscle mass. Increases strength, muscle mass and function; improves balance; greater resistance to illness and injury; burns up to 500 calories per class.
In Sun Yoga we practice a form of meditation called Soul Sync. Originated in India, a simple 6- step meditation that results in a wonderful state of being. Research shows that the improved focus you can gain through regular meditation may increase memory and mental clarity. Meditation also helps to redirect attention, increase willpower, control emotions, impulses and increase the understanding of the causes of psychological turmoil.
Our members and teachers are part of our extended family - in Hawaii, we call it 'ohana. Our 'ohana is one of our greatest values. We are grateful each day for the amazing paradise we call home, and the sense of connection, of oneness, we have with each other. This connection is the essence of yoga.

I LOVE Sun Yoga Hawaii! I have been Attending classes regularly for 2 months now and really feel the benefits of the infrared hot yoga. The owner Michele has an extremely kind heart and makes me feel so welcomed at the studio and is also so encouraging. I love taking her classes along with the other yoga instructors like Junko and Clyde. I leave every class feeling renewed and refreshed. The signature yoga sequence paired with the heat feels like I am wringing toxins out of my body from the inside out. The classes are well worth the investment for your body, mind, and spirit. I highly recommend

Positive: Quality
I love how they always provide options for each asana where we could have space to explore at our own pace. If you are looking for a place that feels like home to further your practice or even a place to kickstart your journey, I would highly recommend this studio!

The Sun yoga classes are intense, but you’ll be thanking yourself after taking one. Good balance between a spiritual practice and a workout. The instructors are knowledgeable and bring grounding energy to class.

3 stars because upon initial contact, I asked a beginner's question, then politely (to my knowledge) declined to hear the introductory promotion Information. After sometime looking at other places, I called back to hear that information, but I was disconnected. I am not sure if it was purposeful or mistakenly. On the contrary, I have booked some classes so I want to see how those go. I do appreciate customer service for answering my question with intuitive knowledge for a possible path, but I did not appreciate being sent directly to the automated answering service when I'd called again after being

If you are a newbie to yoga you will want to try Sun Yoga in Aina Haina. I am a senior with very little yoga experience but all the staff I have come in contact with are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are open to any questions and give you help during the classes. The Yin Yoga is great for seniors as it uses slow stretching to keep us flexible as we age. And thanks to Robin, who is a great manager there!

I have visited a few other yoga studios on the island and NOTHING is comparable to Sun Yoga!! The staff are so amazing, patient and helpful. They greet you with a smile right when you walk in and make you feel apart of their wholesome ohana. The energy after class is insane! I dont think I've been around so many motivated and positive people in my life all at once. It's such a beautiful feeling! I took a few weeks off from work for self-care and I tried to go as many days as possible and...wow! It helped my mind, body and spirit in so many ways!! Thank you Sun Yoga for being so supportive

I was very reluctant about doing a hot yoga class because it drives me crazy to be hot and sweating. But I must say, I've changed my point of view and now enjoy the process of clearing my mind and body of toxins and negative energy. I'm a new believer.

So i had 2 crappy experiences and 2 awesome experiences. I don't want to dwell on the negative. So moving forward because I was able to humble myself and realize that they deserved a chance to change and i also wanted to give myself an opportunity to grow and try to project what needs to be different in this world. i went back after my foolish outburst and took a great vinyasa class. The studio admitted the unkind atmosphere that i had first and third experienced and are trying to change it. I believe they wholeheartedly took my experiences and tough yelp review to heart. My favorite yoga studio of all time!!
Teachers & staff are friendly and kind.
I love how they incorporate meditation and yoga nidra in our yoga practice! Extra bonus!!! After each class I feel relaxed and happy. :D
I am also obsessed with the infrared heat lamps. The aches and pain tend to dissolve away as I sweat it out!

Day! Made! Just walked out of a Sun Yoga class taught by Paula Ota and boy did she kick my butt. I LOVED IT!!! As we all know yoga is at your own pace but her instructions motivated me to go beyond what I thought was my limit. She kindly corrected my postures so that I could feel the benefits of the poses. At the same time she was able to help beginners with proper modifications. I'm so happy I started my Sunday, day, 2019 with Paula at Sun Yoga. Can't wait for the next class!!! Woohoo!!! Namaste

I never was a big fan of HOT yoga. I've taken a few classes and I can feel my body getting stronger. I can handle the heat because the also open the doors to let cool air in at times when finishes with a set. The heat makes you be able to stretch more and sweat more. I did not think I would like the heat but I love it! Fran is an excellent motivator! She really keeps you moving!

I come to Hawaii often to see family & it's nice to know that there's a local studio close by that offers a variety of classes. I purchased a class online and took the 8:30 Hot Flow class. Parking is plentiful and free. I was met by one of the instructors who gave me a quick tour of the studio. The space is clean & inviting. The staff is very lovely & extremely friendly. I enjoyed the class and broke a nice sweat. I left in a very relaxed state and will definitely come back again. Highly recommend this studio. Namaste.

Been going couple times now I really enjoy it. There's different teachers, so each one is a little different but overall not that far off. I wish this place had more deals beside the 2-week intro discount, then I'd go a little more often. There's lots of parking but can get busy on weekends like Saturdays. There is a bathroom and place to put your stuff. Make sure you bring a yoga towel (or some people have beach towels or hand towel), but you will sweat a lot, so yoga towel is best. Of course be hydrated before you go, but bring some water. There is a short water break during the

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Sun Yoga Studio. I am a Chiropractor and was having some issues, over a year ago, that were not resolving. Michele guided me along with her her wonderful yoga instructors to find a place of better balance, fitness and calmness. All of my issues resolved and I recommend her studio to all of my practice members. They now have a wonderful variety of classes to accommodate all levels of fitness. I highly recommend this studio and will be a lifelong member!

I love Sun Yoga. The owner Michele is super and the staff is very friendly. I am definitely looking forward to doing more sessions a week and I can't wait to go back. I have tried 2 different instructors so far and they were both great instructors and they challenged me in a really good way. Sun Yoga is also right next to my Tutoring Center and I have recommended it to all the moms that come to my center. The feedback that I get is always so positive and they always say how much they love it. Now, their husbands even do it too =). If you haven't tried doing hot yoga, Sun yoga is definitely the

SUN YOGA HAWAII is the best that happened to me in a long time. It has changed my life in such a profound way. Going there is like receiving a big hug daily. The team is so welcoming and loving and the warm atmosphere of the studio makes it so easy to feel good already before you even started.
Each teacher has a very unique quality of sharing the gift of this form of yoga so it never gets boring. The main focus of the practice is GRATITUDE and what a great reminder that is.
The heat helps me to be much more flexible and it feels so good to be in the hot room. It burns doubts, anger and fear

Sun Yoga is the best place I've ever practiced yoga -- I'm so grateful to have found it! It's the whole package -- a challenging but supportive physical practice coupled with a strong spiritual foundation that promotes total wellness. I feel very welcome there and love the sense of community. A variety of people practice there. The instructors are very knowledgeable and skilled at guiding students, and they're fully committed and obviously love what they do.

I love this studio and all of the instructors! Each one has something special to share in each class they lead. Recently this studio started offering a variety of classes with a variety of temperatures to accommodate everyone's comfort levels. My favorite is their original sun Yoga class. Its the warmest, just challenging enough, but at the same time relaxing. I walk out of there with a clear mind feeling like I just had an hour long massage. My goal when I started was to become more flexible. Unexpectedly I found that I've gotten so much more from it.
I highly recommend this

Sun Yoga Hawaii is a beautiful & quaint studio tucked away in Aina Haina. Do you remember the old Chuck E Cheese...well they're right there in a teeny tiny alley by the post office.

I did a Bikram 30 day challenge 5 years ago, so I'm pretty familiar with "hot yoga", but this was my first at an infrared light studio. Lamps are located on all 4 corners of the room (the closer you are to the corner, the hotter it is). If you're a first timer, I'd recommend setting up your mat by the back door.

I love this studio, because of the lamps & the beautiful nurturing
