Yoga Hive
What a big question! Our mission from the start was to create an authentic community of yoga teachers and students. Our founder, Kimberly, wasn't able to find what she was looking for in the few studios that existed back then. So, through the power of vipassana meditation and a vision to create a space for anyone to show-up and learn, she founded the Yoga Hive.

We believe in tradition, method and lineage as strongly as we believe in letting our well-trained teachers teach what they love. Which means that no two classes with ever be the same. You'll probably never get the same sequence twice. And you'll always find that you can approach our teachers with questions.

One of my favorite studios.

I used to go to the weekly Saturday morning $5 community class - all the teachers were terrific. It was a huge help for me during my student years.

I remember really enjoying Lisa's intros and teaching method, but really every teacher I had was helpful, deliberate and knowledgeable in their leading of the class.

The Yoga Hive is the best! Kimberly and the instructors do a wonderful job at establishing a community, and the amazing community that they've built has been particularly evident as we've all navigated the COVID-19 crisis. The support that the instructors and other students have offered each other via Zoom classes make it clear to me how much we all value the space, the non-judgmental practice, and the ability to practice with each other.
Overall, I love the studio because the teachers are thoughtful - challenging without being overbearing, supportive, and constantly emphasizing the importance

High quality Baptiste-inspired power vinyasa yoga studio with talented and knowledgeable teachers. When I vacation in other cities, the studios I visit are never as good as YogaHive.
They provide everything from easy restorative classes up to strength building classes that are more intense (my preference!). The studio is heated, and the bamboo floor is great. They have mats to rent, blocks, props, and use a chip system to choose if you'd like hands-on assists.
I have been going to Yoga Hive since 2014, and have never regretted going to a class. Well worth the price.

New-ish to yoga, my experience at Yoga Hive has been wonderful. Thoughtful instructors, challenging practices, a clean space, perfectly located, and accomodating all levels. The quick transition to on-line instruction during the COVID quarantine has given me empowering moments while at home. On-line classes are almost as good as in studio, missing only the personal experience of being there. I've met new instructors via the on-line class and can't wait for more Yoga Hive... in studio.

I booked a private yoga session for my dad and I with Kimberly, and the entire experience from booking to the actual session itself was absolutely wonderful. Kimberly is warm, knowledgable, and accommodating. She was gracious and skilled in her approach, making sure my dad had all the appropriate modifications he would need during the session for his back and knee issues. I would absolutely come back to Yoga Hive! Also the studio is really cute!

There is a great selection and frequency of classes at the Yoga Hive. All instructors vary in teaching style, but are highly (anatomically and philosophically) knowledgeable.
While they pride themselves on being a community -- they are not exclusive or clique-y; I always feel welcome and l know that others have come in as beginners or new students and enjoyed their experience.
They are a little strict on expirations of classes, but they are straightforward with their policies: If you purchase a class pass, the Hive sends out a reminder e-mail before your expiration, and if you happen to expire

My favorite yoga studio in Pittsburgh! I love the beautiful space and the experienced instructors. I also like the variety of classes and workshops. This studio has the perfect blend of great quality yoga instruction with a community vibe that is unpretentiousness and inclusive. I definitely recommend!!!

The Yoga Hive is Pittsburgh's finest yoga studio! I've been going to this studio for 8 years. The instructors are an extremely knowledgeable and sincerely caring bunch. The class offerings are diverse and fun. No matter which class you choose - you'll leave feeling better than when you walked in!

I've been going to the Yoga Hive since I moved to Pittsburgh six years ago. My husband and I are mainly runners but keep a 10-punch pass stored on each of our accounts and try to get to yoga from time to time to limber up. I love the Sunday evening Gentle Yoga class. Last Sunday we were each planning to use the last punch on our 10-punch card before it expired on Monday. However, while out hiking that day I fell and hurt my leg and my husband and I didn't make it to the Sunday evening class. We emailed the owner to ask for a 6-day extension for this arbitrary "expiration date"

I have been visiting this studio on and off for a few years. It is a solid studio in the east end of Pittsburgh. I have found my experience varies GREATLY with the teacher. I have had amazing classes and experiences and classes where I honestly left annoyed and less calm and relaxed than when I got there which is disappointing. Some of the teachers in my opinion don't focus enough on the spiritual aspect, the breath, and the internal experience of yoga. Sometimes it feels like you are being rushed through sequences, poses are not allowed to be explored fully and its just about this "power yoga

The teachers are great, and I experienced good classes most of the time. There is nobody at the studio when there is no class so if you want to visit there to see what the studio is like before starting to take their classes, check their class schedule and visit 15 minutes before the class. The desk is attended by the yoga teachers so they have to deal with payment, checking in people, opening and closing the door, so sometimes it starts a little bit late. Their payment system had a lot of trouble for me, got double charged for monthly subscription, overcharged, wouldnt take my credit card, etc

I've been going to Yoga Hive for a little over 2 years now and just realized I haven't written a review. I love this studio! The studio is a relaxing, friendly community. I haven't tried a lot of studios in the area, but Kimberly, and the other teachers really worked to create a community. It's easy to talk to all of the teachers and the other students before class. The studio is pretty. They recently redid the floors, and I'll have to upload a picture because they are earthy and calming. The studio is heated, but nothing crazy. It's around low 80's, cooler then

I had informally practiced some yoga in the past. I wanted to try a studio, and my friend suggested the hive. I did the beginner special and tried to go as much as possible.

I loved it. The instructors were kind, helpful and attentive. I did a few of their outdoor classes and loved those as well. I bought individual class passes for a few months after that.

I was planning on trying out some other studios before committing to one, but decided to get a membership here instead.

You always work up a sweat. Most instructors do a nice job of framing the practice in the context of a sometimes stressful

Love this yoga studio! I've never been to another yoga studio that feels so much like a community. Though I recently moved to another state, I know I'll be back anytime I'm visiting Pittsburgh! Over the past several months, I have attended ~5 classes a week, and I enjoyed all of them. Each of the teachers has their own style and preferences, so I recommend taking advantage of their new student deal and checking out as many classes with as many different teachers as you can during those 3 weeks to find the ones that suit you best. Both locations are great-- the Garfield studio

Coming from California its hard to find a good yoga class that pushes you. You will sweat for sure in a class at yoga hive.

My 4 star review has nothing to do with the class but there small entry way that makes it hard to get in and out when its busy but don't let that stop you from going.

Awesome experience! I went to a 9 am vinyasa flow class. Heated just right, and the room had 4 other students. Everyone as experienced so the instructor didnt have to waste any time. Based on that one class and the atmosphere, I would definitely go back.

The instructors at Yoga Hive have been nothing less than lovely to work with. Earlier in the year I was planning a small, rather informal event at my university and was looking for an instructor to help teach a class with inexperienced students. Despite numerous event changes on my end, the instructors at Yoga Hive remained professional, accommodating and friendly (impressive considering I am not the easiest person to maintain contact with). The instructor who ended up teaching the class, Rebecca, created an extremely welcoming environment and helped some students who barely see the light of

Wow! The Yoga Hive has far surpassed all of my yoga expectations. So far, I have loved every single instructor that I have had (about 5) and they are all different with their own style.

I do think that SOME knowledge of yoga (I had tried about 4 classes elsewhere before joining The Hive) comes in handy at this studio but it doesn't take too long to notice a change in your body, muscles, and general understanding of poses. The teachers are good about helping newbies, which I very much was. I even got inspired to get better and went online to watch a few videos on some of the most common poses

I find it hard to review yoga studios because everyone's practice is different, so I can't give a blanket statement that "This is the best/worst yoga studio." Each person's body needs something different. And I really do believe that how you'll feel after a yoga class and how much you enjoy it, is 50% as a result of what you yourself put into it and how much you allow yourself to mentally practice yoga as well.

That being said, I can confidently say that this is a good option for yogis who want to practice in a Baron Baptiste/heated power yoga environment with lots

I have been to several yoga studios in Pittsburgh, but I'm not consistently practicing yoga. I generally have the basic positions down, but I enjoy yoga now and then. This studio is really nice inside, and the instructors seem pretty friendly. As a newcomer to the studio, it seemed that alot of the people knew each other... VERY nice facility. I LOVE how they give you the option to do the more advanced poses or to do the more basic pose. GREAT studio!!

I love Yoga Hive. I am still a beginner but they are always willing to help me out and I actually feel like I am learning and becoming stronger. Each instructor is different and it's fun to try different classes taught by each one.
I never feel intimated by the instructors or other students like I have in various other studios. It's a great feeling.
And of course Yoga in the Park is fantastic!!

The Hive is the best studio I have been to in Pittsburgh for many reasons.

Adaptable - The instructors are fantastic at understanding the tendencies and learning styles of everyone and incorporating it into the practice. There is quite a range of experience amongst the students, and they enable all of them to get the most out of the practice. The first time I ever practiced was at the Hive, and it was incredibly comfortable and a memorable experience.

Fulfilling - I don't like the notion that yoga is a workout. You have to exert yourself physically, but it's not just for the sake

I waited awhile to write this review, because I didn't want to be the only person in Pittsburgh who did not like this yoga studio. Well here goes. I purchased a pass for $35.00 for admission to three classes and only used it on one class and I will not be returning for any additional classes. At the start of the class the instructor asked the class what we would all like to work on. One attendee said "the core" I had read the class description several times online and had signed up for a class called "slow flow" which I took to mean more focus on stretching and slow

Find peace and stillness. Sweat buckets. Grow. Nurture mind, body, and spirit.

These are the things that I achieve with each practice at Yoga Hive. The teachers are all wonderful people with distinct practices, but all of their practices share a common theme: the practice is rooted in their spirit. When you step on to your mat, you will have a new and different experience with each teacher based on their energy, spirit, and experience.

The studio is warm, typically around 85 degrees. With a dozen people in a class, the temperature probably hovers closer to 95 degrees. If you have not experienced

I love this studio, I spent the last year bouncing around the Pittsburgh yoga scene based on groupon and living social deals and then came across the Yoga Hive because one of the teachers taught a class at my gym and she was great, and the studio was great. It was about as unpretentious as a yoga studio can be and had pretty good variety of classes. My favorite class they offered was outdoor yoga in Highland park on Sundays all summer long which was included in their awesome unlimited summer package. I unfortunately got a stress fracture in my wrist and haven't been back in a while. (stress

The first time I went here I was a little bit skeptical, the place is quite large and doesn't absorb sound well so trying to relax before practice usually proves impossible. That aside, I absolutely love these classes. Such an amazing stretch - just the right amount and mix of poses. Breakfast of Champions is the absolute perfect way to begin your day. It's not intense but rather a relaxing, moderate stretch that really opens up your joints while working the muscles.
Unlike the popular fads of nearly absurdly hot rooms and classes that emphasize intensity and heat, rather Yoga Hive gets

My very first yoga class was at the Yoga Hive.
This yoga studio is truly one of the kind! They painted their wall with soft orange color and used dark-colored cork material for the flooring. Together they provide very warm and comfortable atmosphere, which contrasts the industrial look of the building it's in. The instructors were very kind and well prepared to guide me throughout the session. I've already fell in love with yoga after the first class!
