The Watch Pocket Jewelers is located in the Woodmoor Shopping Center in Silver Spring, MD, conveniently situated near the intersection of University Blvd. The Watch Pocket Jewelers is a family owned and operated business founded in 1970 by John Stohlman and handed down to his son, Matthew, the current owner.
The Watch Pocket Jewelers is a family owned and operated business since 1970. Matt was born and raised in Montgomery County and is very happy to carry on the family business. He is happily married, since 1997, he and his wife Cathy are blessed with a beautiful daughter.
The Watch Pocket was established by John F. Stohlman Sr., in March of 1970, Matthew's father, and located at the front of the Woodmoor Shopping Center in the "Four Corners" area of Silver Spring.The original site was a small, only 119 square foot storefront that is now part of the Chipotle restaurant.

We specialize in cleaning and restoring clocks. All kinds of clocks; including cuckoo clocks, grandfather clocks, mantel clocks and wall clocks. We will also make house-calls for tall case clocks, like grandfather clocks. No clock is too old or too far gone, we will work on any clock. Battery installation: We change all watch batteries on site, including capacitors for kinetic and solar watches. Leather and Metal Straps: We have a large variety of leather and metal bands for sale which we will put up and size for you. Stellar work from Matthew! 4 decades of work, 2nd generation owner, hands down best place to get your watch fixed!
I took my watch to another place in Rockville right on the Pike, it took them about 4 months for me to get my watch back, & that was without any work done, just a lame consultation. They said it was a bad battery, which it wasn't.
I took it to Matthew, & in less than an hour; he recognized the issue, replaced the broken piece, and even suggested a new watch band after I informed him of the specs I needed.
All of that in less time & at a decent rate in comparison to the other lame

I can't say enough good things about The Watch Pocket. If it were just a question of the basics alone; competency, courtesy and value, The Watch Pocket would deserve a great review. However, its the small things they do to go above and beyond that makes them a truly exceptional establishment. When I have a problem with one of my watches, The Watch Pocket is where I go.

Went in to have several watch batteries replaced. It was done quickly and I was happy with the price. ($12 a watch)
They were knowledgeable about new and established watch brands, along with the changing quality in the watches produced by different brands.
To the point of this being a watch shop, they had watches from multiple brands and at multiple price points. And not just Citizen or Seiko with a few Omegas thrown in.
They also had vintage watches. Underestimating I'd say 40 or so. And that includes pocket watches.
The place was bright and shiny new looking and in these days of a pandemic

Matthew the owner was very honest with me when I got there at his store. He was very honest with me when he told me that the watches I brought into him were not really Gold. But got me some very good insight into knowing some things about watches.
If you want to know if yr watch or watches are real, bring them to Matthew. He will give you the honest scoop of what is what. Or really anything else that u may have and if he can't tell you, I'm sure he will be able to point you in the right direction.
