We are proud to offer 2, 3, and 4-day preschool programs for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Spring-Mar is the perfect combination of loving and talented teachers, beautiful grounds and a creative, interactive play-based curriculum. But the best part of the school is the overwhelming sense of community within the school.
When you enroll your child at Spring-Mar, you will also build friendships with families that will last well beyond preschool. You are able to get to know the students and their families at such a personal way as a teacher's assistant and watching your own child and their friends grow and develop is such a rewarding and unique experience.

Services
In 1963, several families came together to form a cooperative school for the purpose of providing a quality preschool and kindergarten experience for their children. This year marks our 56th year in operation as a non-profit, parent-owned, and parent-operated preschool! We are thankful to the many men and women who have worked hard through the years to keep this school an exciting place for young children to grow and learn.
A cooperative preschool is fully operated by a community made up of parents, teachers, and staff. Parents support the school by helping in the classroom and applying their individual talents toward assigned committees. At Spring-Mar, a parent is in every classroom, every day, assisting teachers to help students acquire valuable tools that will make them great learners in elementary school and beyond.
Spring-Mar's curriculum is based upon our "learning through play" philosophy. Our goals are set to help enhance self-esteem and the cognitive and emotional growth of our children. Our environment fosters curiosity, language opportunities, creativity and socialization. Our students discover and learn through first-hand experiences that stress process over product because children learn best through the environment, not through direct instruction.
Panda Club is an after school program designed especially for our Navigators (3 and 4-year olds) and Inventors A (Pre-K) classes! Panda Club runs on select days each month from 12:15 pm until 1:15 p.m. and allows our older students to stay after school with a teacher or teachers, eat a packed lunch with their friends, and participate in a special enrichment activity.
Registration for the upcoming academic year opens at Spring-Mar's Open House event, held each year on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Admissions are typically on a first-come, first-served basis. Returning members have priority registration. Look for an email from Spring-Mar confirming your child's acceptance OR position on the waitlist.

I could not recommend Spring Mar enough! Spring Mar is a play-based school. I've talked to many parents who had their children in Montessori (or Montessori-like schools) but ended up at Spring Mar and are so happy. Teachers e-mail lesson plans the week before and their days are packed with activities, crafts, and independent play. I also receive weekly updates and tons of pictures from the teachers so I feel like I know exactly what my kids are doing at school. The teachers are so loving and caring, and I love that the class sizes are so small. The teachers (and the director) really know

We have had a great experience at Spring-Mar. My 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son attended there last year. My son is attending again this year, and my daughter has moved on to kindergarten.
We were looking for a secular, completely non-religious preschool that is not super expensive, and this one is a great value. Although the school rents the space from the UU church, it is not affiliated with the church, and there is no prayer or anything like that. The families come from diverse backgrounds, and it is a welcoming environment for families of all backgrounds.

Our 2-year old started pre-school here 2 days/week this school year. She loves it. The teachers are amazing, and they have a great system in place where there is a parent in every class helping the teacher. They do lots of art projects, reading, Music, and movement. There is an onsite Music teacher and Movement teacher. The parents are all great, and they are all really involved as we all participate on committees to help the school with programs including 2 consigment sales and a Touch a Truck event. We feel part of a great community and involved in our child's early learning years

I'm surprised no one has rated this awesome preschool! I had 4 kids who attended a total of 7 different preschools and this was by far the best! Too bad it took me so long to find it. They do not preach or dictate to the children what they should do here. In fact, at one point during the day, they open up all the rooms to the children, when they are designated the 'art room', 'doll room', etc., and let them decide which one to go to and go there on their own. They also block off a portion of the parking lot during recess so the children can get on ride-on toys and have
