Services
The Mission of the Pawtucket Housing Authority is to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing and to establish programs that will educate, enhance, and empower the lives of all the people in the community we serve. The Pawtucket Housing Authority serves as a facilitator in promoting the health, safety, and progress of our families and the overall community.
To fulfill our mission, the PHA must preserve its aging housing stock through timely maintenance and modernization of its developments. The work is part of the PHA's Capital Fund Plan and is funded by the federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) capital grants. Despite a drop in federal funding, the PHA continues to spend its money wisely and in the best interests of residents.
Welcome to the Pawtucket Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) owner/landlord web page! The HCV Program is a great opportunity for owners/landlords to be guaranteed a good portion of their rent on the 1st of each month. The PHA administers rental subsidies for families who qualify for the Program.
As of 2020, the PHA only accepts applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program via their online application portal. We will keep everyone posted as to when we plan to reopen the list in the future. Note: Our Housing Choice Voucher waitlist remains open at www.waitlist-centralri.com.
The objective of the Resident Services Department of the Housing Authority of the City of Pawtucket is to introduce and link residents with a range of programs and services which help provide stability, strengthen individual and family functioning and offer opportunities to increase and maximize individual potential.

It may sound harsh but people here don't feel like resecpt is the norm. It like some that work he only think on there job And there paycheck. 4;00 pm. Gone. Without what happening when there gone it just a job!!!!Residents have no input into what goes on in this building a lack of serious serious security is gone security is in our building one or two hours a night and that's it they depend too much on cameras that are not even seen until someone files a complaint someone should be found dead on the stairwell and we will not be noticed until the next morning when I first moved in we had security

Their supervisor is not very pleasant, I understand that their job is hectic right now with this pandemic BUT imagine being on the other end and worrying about a roof over your head. She is not understanding or campassionate IN THE LEAST. All I have to say to people applying is good luck you don't get much help unless your already out on the street smdh

I just came to this place for the first time ever and I have never applied or asked for help from anyone. I ask one Hispanic lady with glasses how can I apply and she tells me that I can’t apply . So I ask her a question about when I’ll be able to and she tickle cuts me off so rudely in front of my kids and her other coworkers then continues to say she has no other information for me. I don’t think people like that aren’t willing to help others should be working in a place that people go for help. Worst experience ever.
