If I could give no stars I would. I never even made it to the office. I called 2 times. First time it seemed as though I was bothering her and she had no time for me. I gave my number she said she would have to call back. The whole day went by before I even got a phone call back.
The second time I called I wanted to get some information about services and pricing. And right away I was told they weren't accepting any other clients. Very rude unprofessional.

Cortland Animal Hospital has recently lost a significant amount of their staff and this has impacted their ability to care for their patients. I am editing my original review to show how much respect we had for Cortland in the past compared to now. They have been unable to provide services for months. Whenever I have called for an appointment they have said "we will have to call you back". They do not call back, I have had to call back weekly to receive the same response of "we will call you back". I personally do not believe that I should have to harass my vet to get an appointment. I understand that there is a backup for appointments. I scheduled mine in December from October of last year. They canceled and then I rescheduled for today May 11th. I waited in my car for forty minutes after calling to check in for a two twenty appointment. Then two hours later called that he was ready and then to come to the front door once I called and was told to do this I waited for fifteen minutes and nothing. So I entered the front door got yelled at that it was closed while someone was in the waiting room with their dog, and my credit card was not working to call them and then walk them

I’ve liked the vets and vet techs, but lately whoever is answering the phone is very unprofessional and doesn’t seem to know how to schedule an appointment. She asked for my name and number and said she’d get back to me when she figured out when an appointment is available. It’s been a week and she still hasn’t figured it out.

Your first impression of an office, is who answers the phone. There is one extremely rude, blunt, unapologetic receptionist that works there. She has worked there, since I've taken my dog there for the past 3 years. I only continue coming back, cuz my dog has grown comfortable with the office. She's the older lady and doesn't give out her name. Every single time my dog needs to come in, I dread talking to her. Her poor behavior with patients is unbelievable and she shouldn't be allowed to continue with her rude attitude. The rest of the staff are wonderful.

I called about my dog getting very sick and they were very rude to my wife and I. They didn't ask any questions about our dog all they were concerned about was money and if we had papers for our dog. They did this to our other dog as well we brought her they said her gums were pink so nothing they can do,they sent her home with us and she died shortly after.

I adopted a kitten from Tails Humane Society in the summer of 2017. Tails offered me a free examination certificate for a list of vets I could choose from. I was going to NIU at the time, and it was just down the highway from my apartment (about 10 minutes), which was helpful because my cat doesn't love car rides.
From the first visit, I felt welcomed. Whether it was from the ladies at the front desk, or when meeting with the vet for the first time, all of the employees were very professional, respectful, and informative.
My cat was doing well for about 2 years, but started peeing outside

Dr. Otto is wonderful. I love a vet that gets on the floor and plays with the animals. My one cat was trying to hide while he was examining my other cat and he discreetly reached over and opened the cupboard so she could go in and feel safe. I love how much the staff cares. They always followed up on my pets when I took them in for certain issues, even on the weekends they would call and ask how they were doing. They never tried selling me anything my pets didn't need. They truly care about all of their patients.

The staff is always friendly. The vets always seem to care and they take their time to explain everything and give me choices. My 15 yr old cat has never been sick before. I took her in and they had a good idea of what the problem was, asked if I would consent to bloodwork, then came back witb a treatment plan within 30 minutes. She is doing much better now thanks to the staff at Cortland vet

This is just my personal opinion/experience with Cortland. Others may have experienced differently and that's essentially great, but I personally do not recommend if you have a dog prone to issues and/or with a serious medical issue.
I have been to Cortland I believe a total of 5 times, and I cannot say that I've left one of those times feeling 100% confident and reassured as to what the issue was nor if the (very expensive) treatment would help. This isn't my first rodeo either, I have a dog that is in and out of vets (poor kid has a multitude of issues), and we're very picky

They do not come any better than Dr. Askew. We followed here from another Clinic shortly after she opened here.
She truly cares for the animals she treats and uses common sense and compassion. When we had an issue with or dogs health insurance, she immediately went to bat for us without being asked.
having two large American Mastiffs (male 225 and female 170), we knew joint problems may be an issue. She could have prescribed expensive medications and shots, however heard about a glucosimine (sp?) product that she gave us a sample to try, and it has worked fabulously for the last two years and

I never right reviews but I couldn't let another pet owner miss out. This place is amazing, from the moment you call the people here are caring and really want to help. The vet was amazing, cared about my dog made sure she was as comfortable as possible. They aren't to expensive and I would say we need more vet hospitals like this! I would recommend anyone to go here and especially nervous pet owners. I was very nervous and they made me feel better with just the phone calling making the appointment and as far as my dog(she has an eye problem) it started looking better that same day we
