The dream all began when I decided at age 19 to become a massage therapist. After working in that field for a while I realized that massage held limitations when treating serious or chronic illness, whether it be physical or psychological. Wanting to help my clients feel better, I figured there must be a better way.
After researching various health care fields, the fields I was finding did not hold a feeling of passion for me. So I did what any good massage therapist would do. I joined the Air Force. Perhaps being of service would somehow lead me in the direction of the answers I was looking for. I wanted to do something that really resonated within me and that I knew could change peoples' lives.

I have had the pleasure of working with Dana in the treatment of cancer patients. I have witnessed patients achieving excellent results with all kinds of problems that have been very hard to treat. Clients love her and most importantly, Dana is able to get excellent results. Diagnosed with brain cancer, my husband began seeing Dana on a regular basis.

I get treatment weekly from Dana and she is fantastic. She treats me and every customer with respect and is very warm and welcoming. Dana is helping me with a lot of buried pain from my past and she is giving me the tools that will help me learn and grow! I've already seen a lot of progress in just a few months but remember, just like any information, we (clients) need to do the work too! She can only help us go so far and if she gives us the tools and we don't do the homework then we probably won't see progress!

Dana is not just a fantastic provider but a fantastic person who spends the time to get to know you, your issues and spends the appropriate amount of time with you each time! She is not cookie cutter in her approach and you can tell that she really thinks about your situation and chooses the best options for you at that time. I have always felt better upon leaving and definitely got better over time. Unfortunately, I've moved out of the area but I would definitely go back if I ever moved back.

If you've never had acupuncture before, it can be a bit intimidating not knowing what to expect. Dana took the time to get to know me and what I was seeking to gain with acupuncture to make sure it was a fit for my lifestyle. That was a year and a half ago and I have seen so many benefits!
The clinic is peaceful and clean and is a great environment if you're seeking a quiet place to focus on your health. Way to go Dana!

I have been getting Acupuncture and cupping from Dana for neck pain, back pain, etc and find that's it has helped so much more than going to the Chiropractor ever did. She explains what she is doing, why she is doing it, and truly cares about helping you heal. She also wants to know what is going on in your life in order to find out why there is pain in certain areas. I always refer my friends and family when they tell me about pain they are in.

Dana is an amazing human. She treats the mind, body and soul. My visits with her leave me feeling pain free and at peace. I'll admit, I was skeptical of Eastern medicine. After experiencing such incredible results with Dana, I have no longer have any doubts.
Bonus: Dana is always up for a challenge. For example when Western medicine has failed, given up on you or can't figure out what's wrong with you, Dana has a way of figuring things out and treating the entire problem, not just the symptoms.

When I first met Dana I couldn't stand for more than 5mins without fainting. Within 3 treatments I was standing and walking around with minimal dizziness. This past weekend (a couple of months after first meeting Dana) I attended an event and was not only able to stand for 6 hours but I was walking all over the place! Wow!

I've been going to Dana for years and without her I don't know where I'd be! It started years ago with a stomach pain that even the Mayo Clinic couldn't figure out. After lots of specialists and testing with no improvement I found Dana. In the years since she has helped me with many minor ailments from cold and flu to stress and muscle aches. She has also helped many others that I know, including my infant daughter with her horrible colic. If doctors were half as good at treating illness and helping us maintain good health the world would be a better place. Thank you

I adore Dana! She is absolutely amazing. I started seeing her because of a knee injury that was not healing. Within just a few sessions it was almost at 100%, after a few months all the pain was gone. I'd call her a miracle worker but the truth is that acupuncture works and Dana is the best acupuncturist I've seen. She believes in and uses a whole body/mind/spirit approach that really works. I would see her every week if I could, I always end up leaving in a better place than how I arrived.

I started seeing Dana in December 2014 and found her to be very skillful and a thorough acupuncturist. She's very educated in herbs, pressure points and how the body works, and has plenty of herbs to help assist healing. She takes time to understand her patients and listens well. The environment is clean and very relaxing, the aromas put you in a mind to just wind down and find your "zen". I would recommend her services.

I have taught next to this guy, but recently I experienced for the first time a massage by David at Emerge. Dave has amazing instincts for who is on his table and what they need. From setting a great environment to understanding the body he's about to work on, Dave is probably one of the best kept secrets in Tempe for Massage Therapy. GO. SEE. HIM!! I rated this acupuncturist a "one" because she is not a true community acupuncturist. First, a community acupuncturist charges a sliding scale fee, usually anywhere between $15 to $40. This acupuncturist charged $25. Second, I have been to several community acupuncturists where they will needle any part of the front of the body. This "community acupuncturist" said she only will needle your arms and legs, which is okay for some people, but not the majority. I have no doubt the other reviews are true in that acupuncture does help people. However, this acupuncturist seems to care more about money

Dana is awesome! The receptionist is very accommodating and welcoming. We went in for the community acupuncture session to try out this place. It is only $25 for almost 2 hours! It is $20 if you can pay cash. The place has a very serene quality to it as soon as you walk in. From the smells of essential oils, to the strawberry infused water, this place instantly relaxes you once you come inside. No cliquey, granola vibe about this place, which is what I hate about some others.

Update: I went back this past weekend for community acupuncture. I had a great experience! I've gone to community acupuncture in places in San Francisco, and this is such a step above the rest! Not to mention, the price is ridiculously reasonable. It's a beautiful relaxing space. It's friendly and warm. The "regulars" seem to have such a great bond with Dana that makes you realize you are in trusted hands. I felt amazing after my treatment. Having suffered from chronic headaches and allergies I am eternally grateful for the relief Dana has provided. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a treatment

This was my first acupuncture appt ever and I was very open to the treatment. It was fantastic and so much more than I had even hoped. Dana is an unbelievable person and authentic beyond words. She really tried to look at all of the issues and other methods of healing and working towards resolution, not just acupuncture. It's been 5 or 6 years since I had an acupuncture treatment. Emerge Acupuncture had an instant welcoming feeling walking into the door. Dana is fantastic. Genuine, grounded and great at tuning into your body and mind! I have been back 4 times in 6 weeks for the community acupuncture sessions and I will be a repeat customer as long as they are open for business. Highly recommend!

I have always found Yelp to be a particularly useful resource for finding good acupuncturists. I have been to see many different acupuncturists, in Arizona, California, and Colorado, and hands down, the ones I found through Yelp are always the best -- even better than the practitioners that were referred through other sources (friends, doctors, etc.)

Dana is amazing! I had almost given up on finding an acupuncturist in the valley that I liked, but I was having chronic migraines and desperately needed to find someone. The atmosphere is comforting. Dana never makes you feel like you are rushed or insignificant. She's helped me with my nutrition, I've lose 20lbs in the last 3 months. She's helped me with my migraines, they are almost completely gone. I've started back to school, working on my masters, she really helped me see that I was the only one getting in my way there. I’ve been to a few different acupuncturists in the past, and I can say that Dana is easily the best out there. She really takes the time and energy to get to the root of the problem to heal the whole person, not just your symptoms. I went to her because I’ve had recurring knee pain for years, among other things, and other acupuncturists I had seen locally did not help this issue. I wasn't sure I even trusted acupuncture after those experiences because any relief I did get seemed very temporary. My boyfriend and I were fortunate to discover Dana/Emerge through Community Acupuncture. This was our first exposure to acupuncture and we were more curious than nervous. While we reclined in zero gravity chairs (I need one of these in my living room! Amazing!) Dana spoke with each of us individually about how we were feeling in general, if we had any ailments or pains, etc. I should note that my boyfriend had been suffering from horrible migraines that were really interfering with daily life. She talked us through the treatment, placed our needles, and encouraged us to just relax.

My wife introduced me to Dana. Marilyn had a terrible tendonitis problem with her hand that was making it very difficult to work. She started with the worker's comp doctor and went to a hand specialist, but no relief. Somehow she became aware of Dana's clinic and decided to try it. The acupuncture made it much better. Later I decided to try it for high blood pressure and weight control. It has been a big success for me. I was ready to go to my MD and get some new blood pressure medication because the old ones weren't working. With acupuncture and a Chinese Herbal tea-pill, new medication was unnecessary
