CrossFit Hyattsville is 5700 square feet of awesomeness! There's a ton of space for a large pull-up rig, climbing ropes, rings, and 130 ft running lane that we can also use for sled work, handstand walks, tire flipping, etc. There's a large parking lot as well as space to stash your bicycle inside if you prefer to ride over.
Safety is our top priority when coaching form and technique, which is why our class sizes will be kept small. We write programs with a purpose and we focus on helping members of all ability levels achieve their fitness goals while building a strong community and having fun. We are confident that there is something for everyone at CFH!

Services
It was only a matter of time before CrossFit came to the Hyattsville area. Some would argue that a recent resurgence in strength training may owe its momentum to the CrossFit workout movement slowly established from humble beginnings of notorious founder Greg Glassman. Glassman opened his first studio space in California in 2001.
The fact that you have found us means you are curious about one of the fastest growing fitness movements on Earth. The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit does not discriminate. Whether you are 50 years old, or have just completed your 50th marathon, are recovering from injury or healing a broken heart, whether walking the dog is the only exercise you've had in years, or you're someone training for the Iditarod.
If you are just passing through town, we charge a drop in fee of $20 per class. Please plan on arriving 15 minutes before the scheduled class time so we can provide you with a waiver to sign (our insurance friends make us do this) and introduce you to our box. You can find our class schedule here. You may find that CrossFit Hyattsville does things a little differently than your "box back home."
This 60-minute class is intended for those with prior CrossFit experience. The class focuses on using proper technique while increasing the intensity of the workout. The class format will include a warm-up, skill/strength session, workout and cool-down. The workouts are constantly varied so you never get bored and all movements can be scaled to make them harder or easier.
For those who would like to spend extra time working on particular skills or movements or if you prefer more individual attention. One-on-one appointments can be scheduled for 60 minutes or 30 minutes. If you and a friend would like to work out together, two-on-one appointments can be scheduled for 60 minutes.

Called and got a free intro class. Nice and clean gym facility. Called the owner, Beth, about paying for another class and she stated that the only way to pay is to give her your personal bank account number and routing code via a 3rd party app! Beth said she does not take credit cards, checks, cash or anything else due to her wanting to get paid and it being most convenient for herself. She also mandates that members sign a form agreeing to be recorded, photographed. The owner stated that "everyone else [in her gym] complies with giving me free access to their checking account without a problem

No, soldier fit has more customer friendly [billing] policies and is a hell of a workout with classes available all day everyday, group weight training, personal training, and it costs much less than cross fit which is about 150 a month. Soldier fit is 79 or 89 dollars a month. It is fun and very hard at the same time.

The trainers are supportive and knowledgeable about scaling moves to meet your needs regardless of your level of fitness. Different workouts each day push and challenge you. I've been going for a few months now and it's never been boring! Love the early am classes!

I'm a former Crossfitter who is currently working out in other ways, but always feels at home in a Crossfit box. However, some are more welcoming than others, and I felt very welcomed here. I arranged to come with my parents, who have never done Crossfit. Beth, the owner, was responsive to emails in advance of the workout and made sure she had enough staff to give everyone in the class the attention they needed during the workout.
The inside of the gym is spacious and the equipment is well-cared for. I would say the biggest drawback is that they don't have a good outdoor space for running

At first I was a little intimidated (and skeptical) about showing up at a CrossFit box, but I'm so glad my curiosity got the best of me! Beth, the owner, has cultivated a culture of inclusion and skillful lifting that gives everyone (a lot) of work to do. I've really enjoyed doing private coaching here for a slower approach that compliments my yoga training. I'm grateful for a great local business like this nearby!

CF Hyattsville is great for anyone looking to improve their fitness --those looking to try CrossFit for the very first time, and seasoned athletes. The coaching staff and facility are great. This box has the "family" community I want from a place I work out at every day, and has won my confidence with attentive coaching/programming, and a very well-kept facility.

This place immediately hooked me. I’m amazed at how they can meet the needs of everyone, from beginners to members who have been training for years. Each person gets individual attention throughout the class, with a focus on continuous improvement. I’d go every day if I could, and you should too. If you’ve been thinking about trying CrossFit out, this is a great box to join, with fabulous coaches and a supportive community.

Exceptional coaches that focus heavily on form and function, which is important for me because I love to lift, but I am injury-prone! Friendly community of beginners to seasoned athletes, and all love to see each other succeed. The box is exceptionally clean and orderly. I've tried many others, but in my opinion, CFH is the best box in the DMV.

I highly recommend Crossfit Hyattsville. I was quickly approaching 40 and was struggling to carry a basket of laundry up two flights of stairs. Something needed to change and I am glad I stopped by Crossfit Hyattsville. Beth, one of the coaches, made me feel at ease as soon I walked in. Beth was able to explain how they scaled workouts to meet the needs for everyone; that you don't need to be able to do pull-ups on day one. I also have bad knees, three surgeries overall, and Beth explained how they are able to work around old injuries. Fast forward a little over a year later, I've lost

Such a great CrossFit! Obviously the owner, Beth, takes pride in a clean, well-organized gym. The people are friendly and the workouts are fun and sweaty. My husband and I have only been there for a month, but look forward to many WODs ahead in this place. (Also, my husband buys Coast Guard flags for boxes that display military flags, but forget his branch. This is the first that already had all the flags correctly displayed! Hooray!)

I've been coming here for one month and absolutely love this place! Before coming to CrossFit Hyattsville, I had no experience with CrossFit. I attended a free class and signed up that evening. The "box" aka gym is large with TONS of equipment. I appreciate there are several scaling options so even a beginner like me can do each workout. The coaches stress form, which is so important to prevent any injury. I also love you can find coaches attending the classes too. It's a great workout environment. Very pleased to have joined.

After moving back to DC last summer I decided to take a long break from CrossFit. One day I decided to swing by Crossfit Hyattsville to check it out. Beth, the owner and coach, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Just did my free trial class last night and signed up this morning. This place is huge, clean and super friendly.

Thank you to Crossfit Hyattsville! I am a chicago area coach and for full time work I travel regularly (I have visited 50+ boxes around the US) this is in the top tier! It was THE CLEANEST and most organized Crossfit box I have been to in a while. In addition, the instructional value was amazing. I have been crossfiting for over 3 years now, and their coaches were still able to improve my form! The warm-ups were diverse and comprised of multiple moments I had never used before and WILL be taking back to chicago! Overall, this was not only a great workout but a great learning experience to improve

CrossFit Hyattsville is, hands down, one of the best athletic experiences I've ever had. I started going, because two of my rugby teammates (Dre and PJ F) are coaches here (side note: a significant number of ruggers are members, so you know it's got a great culture). And the other coaches? They are as personable to me as the ones I've known for years. So fantastic was this experience that, after only 2 weeks at this box and at CrossFit (and, therefore, having not lifted an actual weight in 13 years), I quit rugby (my passion of 15 years) to dedicate more days per week to CrossFit

As a person who generally hates going to the gym and working out for the sake of working out, I was pleasantly surprised by the whole Crossfit thing. I am also leery of anything that prides itself on developing a "great community" atmosphere, because in my mind, I am there to work out, not be people's buddy. Attending Crossfit Hyattsville for about six months now has changed my tune about it though. I have been consistently improving my health, fitness and strength, not to mention enjoying some of the competitive nature of the workouts.
