Spinning, might be a metaphor for life. Melissa is constantly on the go manifesting happiness and adventure. A travel professional by day (she's been to over 35 countries and visited all 7 continents plus 48 states) Melissa doesn't shy away from an opportunity to learn something new. She took her first aerial arts class in 2012.
NOTE FOR ALL AERIAL APPARATUS CLASSES (Aerial Yoga and Cocoon): 1) Long hair should be tied back, 2) Fingernails must be of a reasonable trimmed length, 3) Absolutely no jewelry should be worn during class. These precautions are both for your safety and to prevent tears in our aerial silks. Note that we reserve the right to refuse to allow a student to participate in class if they are not willing to adhere to these safety precautions.
FCBD Style(R) is an improvisational (choreography-free!) style of belly dance that incorporates elements of Egyptian, Indian, flamenco, and other traditional dances from around the globe. The FCBD Style(R) system uses a standardized "vocabulary" of dance movements with built in cues and transitions that make it possible for dancers to improvise together in set formations.
All Aerial classes require the Learn to Fly Aerial Series or Intro to Lyra as a prerequisite. You only need to take an intro class once, though you're welcome to take it as many times as you'd like, before entering Silks 1, Aerial Sling/Hammock 1, or Lyra 1. Alternatively, we accept proof of prior applicable experience and instructor approval to join.
Learn even more with one-on-one instruction with one of our fabulous teachers! Whether on your own, with a friend or even a significant other for the perfect date night to try something new! We've got you covered. Prices start at $50. Options for aerial arts, belly dance, yoga, and fitness! Girls' night out?

I have been at coil for years. I recently took a 2-person private lesson with a friend to introduce her to aerial. Nicole Bucher was our instructor, and she worked so hard to show us skills safely and accurately, but in a fun way for my brand new to aerial friend. I take Nicole's classes more than any other instructor. She works super hard to make sure her students succeed, pushing each of us in the ways that work for us as individuals. She pushes you, even when you give up on yourself. She will help you get that skill or series, she'll give you a hard workout, and a lot of laughs. She's always

I’m a trained dancer and actor, but receiving instruction from Nicki at Coil was a game changer for my confidence. I began with a playful interest in meeting other dancers and improving my stage presence, but was immediately hooked on the collaborative atmosphere of Coil.
Burlesque-Esque became my “self-care” routine. I’d walk into that beautiful studio every week and see familiar, friendly faces of people I was getting to know before scouting out the best spot for my mat. In that hour, all my worries and inhibition would melt away while we worked up a sweat, watching ourselves refine

This review is solely based on the customer service I received.
I purchased the Intro to Aerial class for myself and my mother-in-law. We purchased the class for the last Saturday in March 2020. Due to Covid--19 business began shutting down mid-March. I patiently waited to receive communication from them regarding what would happen with my reservation and my class moving forward. I NEVER heard from them, not even an email stating that they closed. So I finally reached out to them in April and kindly requested a refund of my reservation and my mother-in-laws. They refused to give me a refund and

I did the introduction to silks, and it was phenomenal! We started off very simple, and the moves were accessible for everyone in the class. I had Ann as our instructor and she was very helpful, friendly and fun. If you're hesitant to try it, it really is a unique experience, and the silks will allow your body to get into poses and move in ways you never thought it could. You don't need to be flexible or super strong to be able to do it, but if you keep up at it, you might just accidentally get the side effect of much more strength and flexibility :D

Coil is such a welcoming and amazing environment. I’ve been so impressed with how seamlessly the studio has transitioned ownership while maintaining the overall personality of the studio. All the instructors are incredibly dedicated to their craft, and that fact is painfully obvious through their teaching. Even if you’re just passing through on a vacation, pop in! Bonus points if you can catch Melissa!

This place used to be great until I was sold classes prior to the business changing hands. The schedule and teachers all changed. So i was not able to use the classes as fast as I had anticipated. I purchased said classes specifically for certain instructors and certain classes. I was not very happy when the new management was not interested making any acceptions to help me use up the classes. Also they werent interested in communicating about this fact or that I am very unhappy about all the classes I will now have to abandon.
