Inspired by the urban legend 'Yo-Kai' a Japanese and Chinese word for 'spirit', a mythical creature of whom can pop up anywhere at anytime. Similarly, our Midnight Dinner embodies the same spirit, showing up anywhere and anytime, catered to your unique schedule, available 24/7, and serve you a bowl of well prepared gourmet meal.
We do not offer convenience at the expense of taste and make no compromises when it comes to the quality of our food. In this modern day of age, people with the means to afford quality food often lack the time and energy to attain them. Quality restaurants take time, gourmet meals take energy, two of the things that most people lack outside of their already busy schedules.

Does this work? I swiped my card several times and in different ways for about 15 mins. It was about 2:30 pm on a busy weekend. The Metreon was very busy with tons of food options, but I decided on this hip ramen vendor. It ended up wasting my time - not so hip. No one else was giving the machine a try though after I gave up.
I ended up getting food from across the way, and it was pretty darn good for half the price.
The ramen looks so good though in everyone else's pictures!

I ordered the Tonkatsu with Black Garlic Oil. The meat was flavorful, but the rest of the meal was, unfortunately, not. The broth tasted very watery, and the veggies tasted very much like canned veggies. The noodles themselves were passable but nothing to write home about.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Heard about this and wanted to try it. My boyfriend ordered mine first which I got the tonkatsu ramen, it was pretty exciting to see/hear it preparing my food and then when the door slid open, my food was ready! Then it was my boyfriend's turn to get his food but as soon as he selected his udon, it stopped working. It said to please call the number and so we just left to get something else, but as my boyfriend was waiting in line to get something else. I saw it worked again so I decided to try it. It took the money but it didn't process the food, we got frustrated and just ended up getting something

There was a line at the Michelin star ramen place so we went here instead. The broth was pretty salty, food was VERY HOT. Though it came from a vending machine, it was not ”instant noodles". These were legit ramen. And the configuration was what you'd expect to see Naruto Uzamaki eating. Only negative versus going to the standard ramen place at Westfield is that you don't get free water... Then again, you don't have to leave a tip either. It's cool for the novelty or if everything else is closed like after a late movie.

I was enjoying eating here for fast healthy food. It's was actually pretty good, especially for a vending machine, and sometimes I'd even venture a few block out of my way for it.... but then they took away the vegetarian/vegan options so that was the end of that. Seriously though, this is San Francisco.... not being able to reliably predict that there will be at least one veg option is silly and will put some customers off.

First automonus smart ramen machine in Metreon adjacent to Cafe X. There's already a couple in SFO, but for the city itself is a first. Only tonkotsu and miso available price at $9.99 each bowl. Vending machine display 24/7 day and night availability, but not at this location. When Metreon close, the machine is off limits. Sometimes it sells out before the night is over. Machine accept major CC and wireless payment. Now you can get coffee and food in one place without coming face to face with human interaction.
