Safety America Karate

Terrible experience in summer camp. To many kids, no age separation (toddlers mixed in with teens), lack of organization. Different kids were crying each time I popped in and since I shared my story, I've heard several others like it. Owner is not helpful or friendly, he has an iron fist way of running the place so you can forget about spring any grievances to him.

Outstanding center with a ​student focus. Our son started classes almost two years ago after leaving a lesser martial arts studio. We were so impressed, our entire family now takes classes. Staff is incredible! They easily switch between helping young students to teaching adults. As a physician, I can attest the instructors teach proper body mechanics and are highly trained and focused, to maximize the ​experience while minimizing risk. I am honestly amazed at how good everyone here is. They're really good at teaching karate, but is not just that, kids could learn that at any other place; these guys are really really good with kids! My 5 y.o. LOVES going to practice, he has such a good time the entire time, and the coaches/trainers are really good at teaching them while having fun. It is a very welcoming/friendly environment from the moment you walk in. Can't wait to start my 3 y.o. too!

Actually attended granddaughters birthday party here on Jan 18, 2019. It was a child's ninja course. Billy was our host. I must say he was awesome with the kids as were all those assisting him. Party started on time, kids had a blast, and the adults had fun watching. Lots of activities in a big area. Pizza, cake , and ice cream after. Kudos to Billy. Super nice guy.

Safety America is a great place for children to understand and follow instructions on discipline and ability to be competitive in a constructive manner. My grandson is enjoying his class and able to listen well to instructions. He is enrolled in the Ninja Warriors program and I’m glad we were able to find out about this program

This is the perfect example of how a karate school should be. They teach effectively and encourage safety at every point in time. This karate school teaches not only how to defend from possible threats but also when and where. So far this is the best karate school in Texas. You can come here without a doubt.

This is one of the best places to learn Karate in Sugarland. The staff and teachers are very welcoming and caring. We have explored multiple places before finally enrolling our kids here and we are happy we did.

The staff at Safety America is the best. Mr. Gifford and his team teach Zen Do Ka karate, self defense, and other life long skills that can benefit anyone. I earned my adult red belt and will return to earn my next belt. My son is currently a brown/white belt and is going for his black belt later this year. I've "shopped" around for karate/takwondo schools in the Sugar Land area. I found that Safety America is more family oriented while keeping the discipline and competitiveness that martial arts has to offer. I plan on enrolling my daughter next year.

This place is ok, my kid has been at this place for 2 yrs, but have advanced only 2 belt, even with full regular attendance. You may have to constantly ask for belt gradation if you want it to move faster. If you are looking for 30 min fun, maybe, but if you want good training, go for a better place.

Safety America is a top tier karate program for all ages that not only teaches martial arts, but also discipline, self control, respect, and safety. In this program safety is the number one priority when it comes to learning how to keep oneself safe, but also how to keep everyone else in the class safe. The instructors are all very skilled and care for each student with great care and respect. They strive to make each class fun as well as informative in order to best teach the students. Safety America Karate is a wonderful establishment! They are part of an international organization and are a very credible business. The kids who attend classes and camps have such a great time! Mr. Gifford has high standards for each and everyone of his students as well as his instructors and has devoted his time to teaching and instilling discipline focus and confidence to all. We love taking our son here twice a week. The owner and staff are all warm, respectful people who love working with kids. My son is completely safe there. Safety America is a fantastic Martial Arts establishment for kids, teens,and adults. My daughter started taking karate here at the age of 7 and is now a dedicated brown belt. She remains excited to work hard towards her black belt. This school teaches the students to use control and discipline, but plays games to keep them motivated and keep it fun.
