Services
Tews-Ryan Funeral Home is a handicap accessible one level facility. It has a full casket display room with over 25 caskets, three chapels (2 large), spacious lounge with attached kitchenette facility providing a microwave and two refrigerators. It offers a warm home like atmosphere with a fireplace in the reception area.
At this most difficult time, we are here to explain all your service options, and to carefully walk you through each decision that must be made. We will handle all details from procuring the certified copies of the death certificate to ordering flowers, as well as scheduling clergy and contacting the cemetery or crematory.
Staff members of Funeral Homes of Homewood are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Michael followed his father into the funeral business over 30 years ago.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

I recently had my mother's funeral here. I found Mike Ryan to be friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. He had to do a lot of work in a short amount of time. My mother passed away Friday morning, and we met Mike at 2:00 p.m. that day to plan the visitation and funeral for Monday. He was in constant contact throughout the weekend, and when Monday rolled around everything was perfect. This could not have been easy, but he still made sure everything got done. I am thankfulwe we used him and this funeral home. You only have one chance to get everything

I was shocked to see the low ratings for this establishment.
My mom just recently passed two weeks ago. She was 89 years old. I briefly shopped around before choosing Tews Ryan. It was an excellent choice. The funeral director, Michael Schassburger was phenomenal and the rest of the staff were very efficient, professional and consoling.
On occasion, my mom discussed how she wanted to be put to rest, and I'm proud to say that with the assistance of Michael and his staff, all of her wants were met. My mom was not cremated. There was a wake, morning prayers, church funeral and burial

Recently I had the sad occasion of losing a family friend too early. I had the privilege of helping his widow with the final arrangements. Ashleigh and Chelsey did everything to make this as easy and painless as possible. They went above and beyond, showing care and compassion. I would highly recommend them to others.

RYANS Funeral Home is owned & operated by the same people who own TEWS Funeral Home. Please beware. After we had our service, we had to wait a week or so for our sons ashes to come back from being cremated. I had called to check on them. I was told the ashes came in but we had to wait a couple days to pick them up. Our son died in Dec. 2011. Then 5 months later I read on Facebook that some people received some of the ashes without even asking his next of kin, his Father. One person even posted, 'thank you for allowing the Funeral Director to share your sons ashes with us'.ARE YOU

Affiliated with Tew's Funeral Home. Beware of this funeral home and it's director! My nephew passed away last December and his father and our family just learned that the director, Mike Ryan handed out ashes of my nephew to friends of his, WITHOUT LEGAL AUTHORIZATION of my nephew's father! The family is up in arms about this and there WILL be hell to pay! NOT a reputable establishment at all!!
