Dr. Kirkconnell is an optometrist in Nashville providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities. Dr. Kirkconnell graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1984. He did his internship at the Naval Regional Medical Center in New Orleans, and he did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
Here at Bellevue Eyecare we can help you maintain the health of your eyes and see clearly with our comprehensive optometry services that include eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and an optical shop. We offer services in English and Spanish.

When you need a new prescription, suspect there's been a change in your vision or it's time for your yearly eye exam, you can count on us to provide the right eye care services for you and your family.If you have a suspect you have an eye disease, like glaucoma, AMD, cataracts or diabetic retinopathy, our eye doctor can examine your eyes, including your retina and macula, to determine if you have any deterioration.
I had an issue with my eye and I called Dr. Kirkconnells office at noon on Saturday the day before Easter and they worked me in immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I thought I was going to have to wait a long time because I was just worked in, but I was in and out in less than an hour.
New patients keep our business growing, so we are always proud to offer high quality optometry services to our patients. We understand that your first visit to the eye doctor can feel overwhelming and we try to accommodate all new patients with a comfortable and organized facility. Our goal is to cover everything you need with a full and efficient assessment, but without waiting to see the doctor.

I am not sure I've had an experience quite so unprofessional.
The Optometrist was awesome, knowledgeable, patient, and very friendly.
However he is in desperate need of new staff. With the exception of one very kind and friendly woman at the front desk, it seemed like everyone was constantly trash talking under their breaths. Lots of uncomfortable whispers and side glances.
I also felt very pressured into frames that I didn't like even after being very clear about what I wanted.
I overheard some exchanges between other patients and the staff as well and was glad to know I wasn't the only one

Care about a patients eye health and stand by your exam and product. Oh, and don't give a partial refund then turn around an hour later and recharge a patients card without them there and take back the refund. Dishonesty at the highest. I don't know how you sleep at night.

I appreciate that Yelp prefaces your review entry with a disclaimer that businesses are doing their best during Covid. I have worked in the service industry and medical field and, trust me, I understand how hard it is.

THAT BEING SAID. I have needed an eye exam for well over a year and I had an appointment scheduled at this local office a few weeks in advance. All the while, I was on rotation at a local hospital's emergency department watching Covid unfold and fill the hospital to capacity. It was horrifying.

I made an appointment after the receptionist confirmed that they would take my insurance. They are in the Cigna Preferred Medicare (HMO)/Superior Vision network both online and on the telephone information system. When I came to the appointment, they said they didn’t take the type of Superior Vision I have. Why are they in the network and why did they make an appointment. This place is a waste of time.

Excellent Service!! Ran a complete set of tests and explained the importance of each one. Both visually and medically. I’ve been wearing glasses since 6th grade and get my eyes checked regularly. I have never heard of a couple of these tests. And these weren’t new. Some people are great at their jobs.

I use progressive lenses. I had my eye exam and ordered one pair of middle distance glasses from this office, for use at the computer. I then asked for a copy of my prescription so that I could order progressive lens glasses online. They only printed and gave me a copy of my middle distance prescription. I didn't know the difference so bought two pairs of glasses online. When I received them I realized something was wrong so called the office. They told me that they should have printed and given me my full prescription. I now have three pairs of middle distance eyeglasses and have lost a couple

I’ve been going to the same Eyecare for 33 years and was looking for a change.I couldn’t have found a better place then Bellvue Eyecare! I cannot say enough how amazing Shirley was for helping me all through the process from beginning to end,Dr Kirkconnell was very thorough and polite and made the exam and contact fitting super easy and I didn’t have to wait 45 mins in the lobby like my previous Dr. I literally walked in and seen the Dr.K right away.I will recommend them everyone as me and my family will be customers.

We switched to Bellevue Eye Care and Dr. K a couple of years ago and they are wonderful. The front office staff is super friendly and always willing to help us out. Would highly recommend. Great eye care group in Bellevue.

Very disappointing. We walked in to get my wife's sunglasses adjusted and nothing more. We realize we didn't buy them there but we just moved from out of state. Considered using them for the $2,800 a year we spend on glasses, contacts & sunglasses but not anymore. We'll find someplace else without the attitude.
The front desk people seemed annoyed we'd even ask that question and didn't offer any solutions near by.

Worried about covid? Don't go here.

I've been going to doctor appointments in Davidson County because of the mask mandate, I want to go places that I can trust wear masks. Upon entering the office, three people behind the front desk were not wearing masks. One put hers on when I walked in. I asked if they usually didn't wear masks and they said "when patients are around," as one more put on her mask. However the third continued to wear hers around her chin. Rude receptionist. I attempted making an appointment, receptionist was very impolite and seemed bothered she had to take a phone call. Got my daughters name wrong, twice. Then, she called 2 days later to tell me that the Dr won't be in and I had to reschedule. Called my daughter a "he" and got an attitude when I corrected her. If your staff up front is this rude and unprofessional, I can only imagine it's worse in the back. When I called to cancel my appointment because I found a nicer place, the receptionist again got an attitude and hung up on me. Don't bother with this

I have been going to the Eye Dr. here for 2 years now. It's convenient, the staff is friendly, and they do a good job. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks Bellevue Eyecare Center! God bless!
