What is Yoga? Yoga is a profound system of holistic health which originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It was first put into written form as the Yoga Sutras. The author was Patanjali (pronounced pa-tan-jaw-lee). Patanjali defined yoga as having eight limbs or branches. It is the third limb "asana" (pronounced as-an-a), which refers to postures or Yoga poses that most Westerners perceive as Yoga.

Love the location and instructors. The mobile app is also super useful. Only reason why I knocked a star off is because parking can be tricky especially on weekend mornings. But other than that I highly recommend it. Also don't miss out on their introductory two week pass!!

I just took my first prenatal yoga class at Free Spirit and it was so great! This class was so relaxing and refreshing.
I did prenatal yoga with my first and it was more workout focused. As much as I could also use a workout, what I really want in a prenatal yoga class is to relax, stretch, and show some TLC to those parts of the body that ache.
The studio is small and friendly. I really appreciated that they supplied the yoga mat and blocks, etc. I always find that to be such a pain to bring your own mat.
I will for sure be back to this studio! Awesome practice!!

Free Spirit Yoga is a clean, inviting space that meets the needs of yoga practitioners of all levels. The parking is convenient and you are always greeted with a smile. I practice gentle yoga with Grace, an insightful and wise teacher. Thanks to Grace I have become stronger, more flexible and more calm. I am so grateful to Cassandra and the entire staff at FreeSpirit Yoga. The studio is an asset to the community of Bixby Knolls and to me personally.

Cassandra is a special human being! She is inspirational, motivational and true to her spirit. I had the opportunity to take two of her classes and she pays attention to the littlest things and reminds the class to adjust and pay attention to nuances that other instructors seem to miss. Cassandra is the difference between a good instructor and a great instructor. She is GREAT! I wish I were closer to her so that I could partake from lessons regularly.

Cassandra, I had no idea that you were the owner. So grateful for you and your staff. I always feel welcome and at home on the floor there. Some studios do not feel like home and the Yoga experience needs a loving environment. Free spirit is all that and a bag of pita chips? Your yoga master Grace is one of the best any studio could hope to have and I hope to learn from all of you. Namaste.

I have done yoga in the past, but never regularly. I came here to recenter myself and I am so glad I did! I saw a Groupon with a great deal, although it's ended, I would definitely come back because the regular prices are still pretty affordable! What I love most about this yoga studio is the super welcoming environment, not just from the staff, but those who attend the studio as well. I regularly went to Grace's class late afternoon Gentle Yoga class and loved it. When I started, I had a very high level of stress and feeling overwhelmed. I took some of the positive energy from the class

I enjoy all the classes here, every teacher is so mindful and creates a nice ambient. Also, they are open 7 days per week and have classes at different times to match everyone's schedule. I tried different yoga studios but for this one I can just say that I love it!

I love that they have kids yoga, and my 5 and 7 year olds are big fans, too. At first I thought 75 minutes would be too long for them, but they always come out of class with big smiles on their faces, telling me everything they did.
I also love that FreeSpirit offers an adult class at the same time as the kids class, so I can go, too. I enjoy the flow 1-2, which is an easy "Sunday" feeling class, not too hard, but with a little work.
I need to get to the early morning power flow and the Flow 2/3, to see if they meet my needs for a more intense class.

I bought a Groupon and it was the best decision I've made. I take the prenatal classes with Kelly mostly on Saturday's and some Wednesday's when work permits. I started at 27 weeks and I'm 31 weeks now and it's the best decision I made for my body and baby.

Kelly is wonderful. She has extensive knowledge on safe prenatal moves and her own personal experience is so helpful. She'll ask what part of our bodies are bothering us and she adds moves that help with soreness or pain. She's very cautious and makes sure we are all comfortable and moving at our own pace

I came to this studio for their prenatal yoga classes. I started attending when I was 15 weeks along and kept going until I was about 34 weeks. I loved Kelly's classes so much. I liked how she acknowledged our growing babies and included a lot of personal experience regarding her own pregnancy. What I found really helpful during my delivery was the breathing exercises. I had really strong shaking during labor and couldn't concentrate on anything except how much I was shaking. I remembered the counting breaths exercise and that was the only thing that helped control my shaking, so I&apos

As a long time yoga student at FreeSpirit I can say without a doubt the owner Cassandra is breathing new life into an already wonderful yoga studio. The recent renovations are a welcomed facelift but what keeps me coming back is the studio's openness to trying out new events and their partnerships with the community. They host local artists on First Friday and even dabble restorative healing outside of traditional yoga. This is what makes the studio fun, stress free, and relaxing; not a stuffy, sanitized, corporate affair. They offer something for everyone and are extremely welcoming. I&apos

I've been coming to FreeSpirit Yoga for years and have had nothing but positive experiences. The teachers and desk staff are caring, compassionate, and able to skillfully guide students of all levels in their yoga practice. The studio owner Cassandra is exceptionally loving and dedicated to bringing peace to all people through yoga. In addition to their range of regularly scheduled classes, the studio often holds excellent workshops (108 sun salutes, belly dancing, and myofascial release- just to name a few favorites ). I always feel welcome and at ease when I step into this studio, knowing

I've been going to pre-natal yoga for the last month or so and absolutely love it. The class is not too hard, which is great because I am now 34 weeks. The rates are very reasonable. You can even use their yoga mats for free, which is a great perk in case you forget yours at home. I like the energy of many of the yoga instructors I have met who have sub'd for the regular pre-natal yoga instructor.
I wouldn't mind a bit more interaction between other expectant mothers, but I guess I could always initiate that! :)
The groupon or 2 week intro deal is very fair and a great way

I am a middle aged woman that was beginning to have issues with arthritis. When my friend suggested we go to Veronica's gentle yoga class, I was hesitant. I thought there was no way that I could do yoga.

Was I wrong! Veronica was kind and helpful, reassuring that in yoga we only do what our body says we can do. I have been doing yoga with Veronica and Grace for almost a year and the results have been awesome! I haven't felt the need to see my rheumatologist outside of routine visits for awhile now and the sporadic cyatic pain I had is a rare occurrence.

Grace is now helping me sleep
