We offer a full in-house veterinary laboratory including hematology, chemistries, endocrinology, virology, parasite diagnostics and cytology. Regular cleaning and polishing can prevent painful tooth decay and prolong the life of your pet. When dental issues arise we can locate the areas that need special attention.

Good vet visits start before you even get in the door. Some pets get anxiety going to the doctor, just like some people. SCAH aims to provide stress free, compassionate care for your pet. We want to make your pets happy to come to the clinic, as this makes an impact in how they respond to our veterinary care.

Services Report

SCAH aims to keep pets in their prime. We provide a variety of preventative services including vaccinations, nutrition counseling, wellness services and client education. For senior pets we also offer geriatric care to help your pets enjoy a long active life. We see most pets from Dogs and Cats to Rabbits, Pocket Pets(such as Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, etc), Reptiles, and Small Farm Animals like Pot Belly Pigs).

I can’t say enough good things about Sumter County Animal Hospital!! They were SO KIND and compassionate in caring for my chihuahua, Sammy. I was beside myself when I arrived with him and as soon as I got in our room, I was able to calm down and level off. Dr. Brown was steady and incredibly patient as she examined Sammy and then explained a care plan to get him back to normal. I am so grateful for Dr. Brown and ALL the staff who work here! Thank you!!

First time to see Dr. Brown. The office is organized and friendly. She sat on the floor to examine my dog. My dog Paisley was put at ease. It was a great experience and we will definitely go back when needed. I highly recommend them.

Great receptionist greetings, timely exam by vet tech and Dr Brown. JoJo was examined with care and understanding of her condition. I would highly recommend and the extra explanations, in expense, with the yearly combination package.

There is no other Vet that I would take my animal too. They are the best and Friendliest team going. They took great care of my dog Chunk and sent him to Heaven. We had our dog euthanized. The staff was sympathetic with us, and the procedure went really well. This ended up being a good day for our very sick dog. Their price for this procedure was the cheapest of all the clinics in the area. What made it really helpful was that they could see us on short notice.
Their staff is great, however the clinic could use a bit of updating.

My almost 16yr old mini dachshund was in distress and it was inevitable that he was to be euthanized. I was turned away because he wasn’t an established client. I wish Leigh McBride was still there as she never turned away an animal in distress and took fabulous care of my Rottweilers.

We had to put down our 19 yr old black cat last January just before we went to Panama City Beach for 4 months in our Motorhome. We came back to Wildwood this month and waiting for us was a wonderful condolence card personalized by each staff member that brought tears to our eyes. Thank you Dr. Brown and staff for your compassionate care of us and our beloved cat.

Both our dogs had intense ear infections. They had been to another Vet previously, who didn’t do much except charge a lot of $$$$. The vet and the techs at Sumter were excellent, we are in day two of our boys medicines and it is doing wonders. And for less$$. Can’t say enough. Great Great Great!
