Great place right in the heart of downtown Port Townsend. Walk to everywhere! Host recommended a dinner and show at the Cellar Door that was delicious and fun. I will stay here again! The Washington Hotel is the perfect place if you want to stay right in town, walking distance to all the shops, dining, and the water!

We make a lot of trips to the area on business, so we have the opportunity to "try out" quite a few hotels. I loved this hotel. Although there is no attendant manning a front desk, the manager is easily accessible via phone/text. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. I would say the only drawback was the heater makes a lot of noises throughout the night, so if you are a light sleeper, this may not be ideal for you. All and all this hotel easily gets 5 stars in my book and hopefully we are authorized to stay there in the future!

I think there's a reason they don't have staff on-site here. The hotel was fine. Serviceable, nothing to write home about, looked cuter on the web site. Then a few days later, I get an email from the manager: the accountant told her my credit card has been declined, and they're threatening to use "another way to collect!" So I'm like, "Hey! Relax! There's nothing wrong with my card, I swear! I pay my balance every month! I'll give you a different card if needed!"
Turns out, the accountant was entering the card number wrong. The manager offered

I really want to give this hotel a 5 star review, because of that I'm giving a 2 star instead of the 1 star it deserves after my last nights stay.
First I love the front desk less concept, so great to make your reservation online and get a confirmation and the door code for your stay. no fuss +5.
It's an old building so it has a well used feeling but my room was clean another +5
The layout of my room (room 1) could of been enhanced with the addition of bedside tables, I rely on my phone for my alarm clock and there was no place within arms reach to place it -3

This little hidden gem is perfect for your stay in Port Townsend. The rooms are gorgeous and have everything you'd need to be comfortable, even a little fridge!! . It's walking distance from the cute little downtown area. (Only one street off the main drag). It's quiet and clean. The linens and beds are high quality and I appreciate a good night's sleep after being on a plane all day to get here!!

My friend and I went for an overnight to Pt. Townsend and this was the perfect little spot for us to land. The location is amazing--it's easy to pop in for a little rest before dinner or mid-afternoon because you are so close to everything! The free parking is a plus, too!
We were in Room 2 which had plenty of space for both of us, including a nice sitting area with a mini refrigerator.
Marilou was easy to work with and made sure we were pleased with our stay.

My friends and I booked rooms 2 & 4 for the weekend. They were surprisingly really spacious. Both rooms had large beds and a separate sitting area that we really enjoyed. The bathrooms are large as well. We loved the central location and being able to easily walk everywhere. Marilou was very helpful and made our checkin process super easy. I'll definitely book here again when I can.

Loved this place!
I'm giving 4 stars, but in reality, it is 4.5.
Location:
The location is great. You're located downtown and can walk to any shop or eatery in the area. The parking location for hotel guest is odd and in reality, can only fit two cars. So, just find a spot, park it and leave it. Take advantage and walk everywhere.
The Digs:
There's no attendant, so you need to book in advance with the lovely manager, Marilou. She really cares about the hotels she manages and truly wants your stay to be a memorable one. Upon arrival you will get codes for both the building

This was a great place to stay, right in the middle of this sweet town, an easy walk to everything, super comfortable bed, everything you need and a gracious owner. It feels like staying in a friend's extra room, more personal than a hotel, with lots of picture books, large drawers, a small fridge and no bad mass-produced hotel art on the walls.
Definitely recommend it!

Awesome hotel! Quaint yet modern. Quiet, cozy and well appointed. There are lots of nice little touches to make you feel right at home. Centrally located in downtown but you could hear a pin drop out on the sidewalk after business hours. I love the quiet! The hotel also has very polite doors that seem to shut with a sigh. I abhor the big box hotel doors that slam shut and wake you up just as you're getting into a good dream.

This review is almost 6 months delayed, but I am no less happy to give a positive review. I would definitely recommend this place to groups that want to reserve the entire hotel (all 4 rooms).
We rented out the entire hotel for my fiance's birthday weekend. It was the perfect set up. The rooms themselves were great, and we were able to use the entire lobby area to socialize. The hotel is above a store, which closes relatively early, so you get the sense that you have a house all to yourselves.

I stayed at the Washington Hotel on a business trip a couple months ago. It was fabulous! Probably one of the best experiences I've had at a hotel yet.
I had a grueling drive up to Washington from Oregon and the warm, welcoming room was just what I needed. There wasn't a front desk nor an attendant; but when I entered my room, there was a note welcoming me to the establishment. The lights were on and there was soft classical music playing when I arrived as well.
If I am ever in Port Townsend again, I will most certainly be staying here! Thanks!

Comfortable, unassuming, privacy, quiet block (most the time).
Park your car, check in, and you won't have to get back in your car until you leave.
The hospitality was fantastic - particularly given the place lacks a lobby and on-site innkeeper. All was done via phone, with regularly changed keypad codes facilitating come-and-go as you like hospitality.
Good times.
And... other contributors photos are a fine representation of the place.

We stayed for one night, and it was wonderful. There's something to be said for a place that you just walk in without worrying about checking in or out. We were there on a Saturday night, and we didn't hear anyone else in the building, and there was very little noise from the street. The décor was a wonderfully modern oasis in a sea of Victoriana. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had terrific water pressure. If I had one complaint, it would be that the bathroom light is really too dim to put makeup on effectively; but that's a little thing, and doesn't detract from the

Beautiful room - great location - relaxing stay.
We stayed in Room #1, which has 2 beds (1 bed is in a bedroom, and since we only needed 1 we didn't use the bedroom). The room was simply but beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable with down comforter and soft sheets. Our room had a nice little desk, where we plugged in the laptop and used the free (fast) wireless. Our room also had a mini refrigerator, tv, stereo and nice big bathroom.
There is a common area in the hall which is great because it holds everything you might ever need during your stay (hair dryers, extra coffee, bottle

I hate to even mention this place since I think it is PTs best kept secret...but I guess it is better for them to get extra business in the slow times even if it means I risk not being able to get a room during the busy times.
I stayed here years ago and loved it. I am actually surprised that with how well it is reviewed on tripadvisor that nobody has yet yelped it.
I have only stayed in one room but it had two seperate rooms with queen size beds and a third sitting room with a couch. Two couples and a fifth wheel stayed here and it was great. It is close to downtown and they even supplied

The thing I noticed when looking around at Port Townsend is almost all the accommodations are within $20 or so of each other.
We had a choice:
1.) Staying in a room with seasons of sand embedded in the carpet pad & polyester bedding.
2.) Newly remodeled rooms with fine linens, hand ironed sheets & pillow cases, with all the perks of a luxury hotel room. Managed by the lovely Marilou.
The choice for us was number 2: The Washington Hotel.
There are a couple other options that Marilou manages as well that are equally of interest and quality. So the real recommendation overall goes
