Charles S. Rivchun founded his jewelry business in downtown Cleveland in 1917, opening his first wholesale store in the Old Arcade Building on Euclid Avenue. Four years later, he moved the store to the Hickok Building on the corner of Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue.
In 1943, Rivchun Jewelers moved to the Citizen's Building (today's City Club Building) located at 850 Euclid Avenue where Charles encouraged a number of fellow jewelers to relocate and thus, was instrumental in establishing Cleveland's Historical Jewelry Center.Over the next five decades, the family developed a reputation in both the community and the industry as experts in diamonds, precious gemstones and metals, watches and estate jewelry.

S. Rivchun & Sons, Jewelers either hand selects, contracts to create or personally designs and creates in-house each of the jewelry items featured on this website. Therefore, the majority of the items displayed for sale are available as a quantity of one. Special order or custom designed items take three to six weeks depending upon the item and time of year.
Every piece of jewelry whether stock or custom-made is hand selected, created or collaboratively designed with you in mind. Each item has a story and is a treasure. The combination of skilled artists and technology allow us to transform basic designs and concepts into a personalized, signature piece that compliments the uniqueness and beauty that is you.
To care properly for your jewelry, it's helpful to understand a little about the individual components of each piece of jewelry. Each type of gemstone is characterized by a unique combination of hardness and durability. Gold is relatively soft and can be scratched and abraded by rubbing against gold and most other jewelry.
