Services
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you.
To replace missing teeth, fake teeth are attached to connecting crowns that attach to the patients existing teeth. The connecting crowns are made by removing an outer layer of tooth structure to make room for crowns. Crowns are used when a tooth is badly broken, has a large cavity, or has had a root canal so it needs to be better protected.
Irina was born without 2 front teeth. She has been wearing a removable denture but she knew it was time to get something more permanent. She wanted implants. Using implants and porcelain crowns we were able to replace her missing teeth. She loved her new teeth and she wished she had come to us years ago.

I was so scared of going to the dentist until I met Dr. Fred, Tom, and Shah (the coolest office dog!).
My dental experiences before SD Smile Dentistry were so traumatic that Dr. Fred prescribed medication to help me relax before my appointments. Since my initial visits, I grew more comfortable and accustomed to dental work that I no longer needed medication to have my teeth cleaned! (Yay!)

Great experience! I had gone to another dentist and they gave me a large list of things I "needed". It seemed suspicious so I came here for a second opinion and they reassured me that almost none of that was necessary. The front desk staff was wonderful and the hygienist was very welcoming too! Such a great office! I absolutely dread going to the dentist but Dr. Harandi & his entire staff made the entire process easy & enjoyable. Amber, the hygienist, is so knowledgeable, attentive and clearly skilled at what she does. I was floored at how easy the x-rays were, how well she did the cleaning and how painless it was. Dr. Harandi has a great bedside manner, is clearly very knowledgeable and clearly wants the best for patients (vs. just his bottom line). My main concern when going to the dentist is finding a dentist that I trust: I want to trust that the dentist is knowledgeable, has my best interest at heart, and cares about his patients. After going to Dr. Harandi, I can say that I fully trust him and his staff. Context: I have a decent amount of dentist-anxiety, so prior to this I hadn't been to a dentist in a very long time. Last week, I found myself panicking after a filling cracked, and I desperately searched for a place that would see me quickly. I called at least 5 offices before I called San Diego Smile, and when Tom answered the phone he put me immediately at ease. He helped me get a 4:10pm appointment on the very same day, and was extremely kind and helpful when scheduling followups. Amber, the dental hygienist gave me a deep cleaning today. She’s awesome! Very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Most of my experiences of a deep cleaning included my gums being numbed. She is so precise and and light handed it wasn’t needed no pain and my teeth look great! No numb gums to boot!

I just moved to the area from Arizona. I had extreme tooth pain from my wisdom teeth and reached out to Smile Dentistry. They knew I was in bad pain and squeezed me in that same day to be seen. I had been calling all over the place and couldn't get in anywhere, but smile dentistry got me in ASAP.

This place is amazing. From the time I step inside the office, I felt so welcome. The ladies in the front desk were super nice and friendly :) the check in was smooth and easy. Restroom is super super clean!!!! Amber is such an amazing hygienist! She went through all the steps with me and was super gentle. Her little office was neatly clean and organized which is a plus. This place is great! I found them on Yelp and it's so quick and easy. The office staff is super friendly as are the hygienists! I love that they confirm your appointment with you via text, call and email to ensure you don't forget what you made 6 months ago. They've never been pushy to sell me new items. Overall great experience and highly recommend.

This last week, I went in and was sad to learn my usual hygienist (Carlie) had moved but the new hygienist, Amber, was so nice and great -- she was informative about what she was doing I think since this was the first time I had her, which made me feel very comfortable with her. I just had 2 implants done by Dr. Fred at SD Smile Dentistry. I had met with 4 different Dentist regarding this procedure. I finally decided on Dr. Fred because of his expertise, his high-tech office and his very nice staff. I've always been bothered by my two particularly crooked front teeth, so I came here to see if I could get Invisalign done. Dr. Fred took a look and said Invisalign could definitely work, and also fix some crowding issues with a few of my other teeth, so we did a scan and ordered the first round of aligners. I came to San Diego Smile Dentistry to have my dental implant done. Everyone at the front desk is always friendly and helpful. Dr Fred Harandi is very skillful and takes great care and pride in his work; mine wasn't the easiest case and we had to deal with the healing cap falling out , infections and delays with the lab during the holidays. Does anyone ever pick up the phone here? I reached the voicemail twice the past two days without a dial tone and today it just kept ringing for the past two hours without anyone picking up. I needed to reschedule for the past two days & believe this is how they end up charging people for no-shows. By not picking up their phone! Third updated review, Dr. Fred and team is still amazing as first day after 6 year of going here. They really keep up with safety protocol and sanitation during covid to provide safe environment for client. I referred my gf (now wife) to this place and she also agrees that they provide excellent service and not rushing to finish up and most of the treatments are done with minimum level of pain (compare to other place she tried).

I first moved to San Diego in 2015 and I was looking for a dentist. This is the first place I went to and I have been going ever since. Everything about this Dentist is what you want and if you're reading this trying to find a dentist then stop looking and go here! These guys are fantastic. Dr. Fred does excellent, FAST work, and he is extremely attentive to your comfort level. Tom at the front desk is great as well - making appointments is a breeze, and they always have time for me.
Everybody is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and re-assuring -- and I have honestly never seen better pricing. They have already saved me $8,000 and that is NOT an exaggeration.
Bottom line: if Dr. Harandi isn't your guy now, you should fix that.

Excellent and friendly service. I got a crown to replace an old, cracked veneer and I can honestly say this is the best crown I've had (compared to my other crown and the previous veneer shape/quality). The shape is perfect, it doesn't look or feel like it's fake at all, and they match the color perfectly. Everyone that works here is awesome and friendly.
