Dr. Hong received her degree in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1997 and completed an additional year of hospital based training at Staten Island University Hospital. She was in private practice in downtown New York City and also served as a clinical instructor at Columbia University School of Dentistry before relocating to Southern California.

Everyone from the front desk, medical staff, and Dr. Hong herself are so nice! They really care about your well being and make sure to explain everything that's happening during your appointment, and make sure to answer any questions you have.
They also make it quite easy to make an appointment, with the option for text message updates for any earlier available dates.
I really enjoyed my first experience at this dental office.

Dr. Hong is not warm or empathetic even if you are in severe pain. She will pass you off to another dentist while on a family trip but can't be bothered to call the other dentist on your behalf so you're left on your own to get an appointment. Good luck with that! I had severe pain that needed a root canal after she did a crown on me without a root canal. After two days I was in severe pain but she was out of town. When she called me back to inform me she was on a trip, all I got was a phone number to a dentist who told me I had to wait three days for an appointment although half my

Very friendly and professional team! I came in for a cleaning and X-rays after having gone years without seeing a dentist out of fear. We absolutely love our dentist! My family has been going to Dr. Hong's office since we moved to San Diego almost 5 years ago. The atmosphere in the office is extremely friendly and fun, but is also very serious and knowledgeable when it comes to oral care and hygiene. I used to dread going to the dentist but now I actually look forward to my visits because of Dr. Hong and her staff! Clean environment with TVs on the ceiling to make the visit that much more comfortable. Everyone is super friendly and always informative. Dr. Hong and her staff are professional, pleasant and friendly! My girlfriend and I have both been going for the last year; their cleanings are gentle & effective, and my girlfriend says she didn't experience any soreness after getting a filling.
During one of my cleanings, a dental hygienist gave me advice on how to manage canker sores that I've been getting a few times a year for as long as I remember. This was super helpful because all the advice I have ever heard before amounted to "it's unknown why they happen" and "they go away on their own", but the hygienist gave me some actual pointers

I have been going to Dr. Hong for over 2 years for my dental care now and I am grateful to have her and her staff to help me. I have had many dentists in my lifetime but none who are as welcoming and helpful as Dr. Hong and her staff. From routine checkups to more invasive treatment, I have not had a better experience. Dr. Hong and her staff are both friendly and professional. I'm always greeted warmly when I arrive. During my cleanings, I've found that each staff member is thorough in both explaining what is going to be done that day, during the actual cleaning and afterwards with recommendations for home care.
On certain days, you can make late appointments in case you can't take time off during the day. There's also a large parking lot so you'll always find a space close by.

Dr. Susan Hong is by far the best dentist I have ever had. She is very considerate, gentle and transparent about the dental procedures needed. Her entire team is always very friendly and they even host special events on holidays! Shout out to Patty and Anna who is always very accommodating even though I keep having to reschedule due to work. If you're looking for a new dentist you've come to the right place!

I love Dr. Hongs office! She has been taking care of my dental health for about a year now, and the difference is night and day. Dr. Hong is an honest dentist, and truly cares about each and every patient. I love how she finds a way to work with any insurance plan, even if it’s out of network. I've been going to Dr. Hong for several years now. I was traveling too far and decided it was time to find a closer dentist who is good and that I could trust (which is no easy feat). Surprised at all the 5 stars. My experience was not 5 star. I tried to find a dentist closer to home and this was the outcome.
I do think the hygienist did a good job and that is about it.
Then The doctor comes in and basically goes on and on about all the issues in my mouth. I have NEVER been told I have all of these issues. I have regular dental appointments and good hygiene.
I was overwhelmed and trying not to cry. She asked if i was overwhelmed and I said yes. She continued to launch into all of my issues. Then she walked away and said "you are obviously overwhelmed or bored

Searching for a dentist is like having your teeth pulled (no pun intended). And I can say search no more! I originally went to Dr. Hong only to get a second opinion on a treatment plan from my original dentist. Dr. Hong gave her professional input and recommended treatments. She provided the facts and options and let me decide the path forward for treatment based on my oral health care and cosmetic needs. Since day 1, Dr. Hong and her staff have always been friendly and professional; and I ended up switching dentist to Dr. Hong and her team for my dental service needs.

I've been coming to Dr. Hong for over two years now and she's the best dentist I've ever had! She is super knowledgeable, kind, and funny. She takes great care of her patients and is very skilled.
