The current structure of the Bull's Head Inn was built in 1802 by Seth Wakeman, on the site of three previous structures dating back to 1752 when George Ferster built a log cabin here, one of the first buildings in Cobleskill. During the American Revolution in the Battle of Cobleskill in 1778, that cabin was burned to the ground by British, Tories and Indians led by Chief Joseph Brant.

So many good meals I have had from this restaurant. The best is they take special care for all gluten free meals. They have their own gluten free menu. It doesn't matter if we order delivery or in the restaurant. They always package it separate and take special care to make sure it is separated from the other food. They even have gluten free dessert. Having a child with celiac disease make it hard to eat out especially in small towns. I am very thankful for the wonderful service and care from this restaurant.

Two fish and chips to-go and we're already itching to drive the hour for another visit. The fish was so incredibly fresh and the batter was perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The tarter sauce and coleslaw were good and the fries were plentiful. The inside looks beautiful so I want to return and dine-in. Highly recommend for anyone craving fish or looking for a luxury dining atmosphere without those luxury dining prices.

The atmosphere was extremely warm and inviting. The food was absolutely amazing and the waitstaff and hostess were so attentive! When I made the reservations I mentioned I was GF, so when I arrived there were GF menus on the table. The GF food also came out a couple of minutes before the non GF items.
I would definitely go back!

The Bullshead inn catered our daughter's wedding September 4th 2021 and we have to tell you it was absolutely perfect. Not one person had a complaint and everyone I talked to on that day had only good things to say. The food was great but the staff was even better, professional and accommodating. Thank you so much for the job well done.

My mom and I were in town for the long weekend and decided to check this restaurant out. Everything was incredible. Admittedly, service was a little slow, but it was totally worth the wait. The eggplant fries… are to die for and the butternut squash ravioli (Sunday special) was not only delicious, but you get a to of them. Finally, everyone on the serving staff was so pleasant. We would absolutely recommend Bull’s Head Inn.

Came to Howe Caverns for the weekend. We were really looking forward to eating at the Bulls Head after a very disappointing lunch. We made a reservation and ended up coming early and going to the pretty park across the street. After watching the restraunt for an hour we said it's not terribly busy let's see if we can go earlier, what's the worst they can say, you have to wait? When we went in the hostess was very nice and said let me get that table ready and sat us our table. Then told us you can have drinks now and can't order any food until your reservation. I asked the to

Stopped in for an early dinner, opted to share the Eggplant fries (photo included) and ordered the Sampler Platter for two, with ribs, smoked brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken. Overall a delightful experience with great and attentive staff all served in a warm, historic inn. Never saw a ghost or experienced anything paranormal....but really now, that's just fine, lol.

To get rid of the basic stuff first..parking in the street and there's a lot in the back. The lot in the back is up a slope to the restaurant, people with issues or handicap my have a issue. There was outside seating. Inside is a Victorian style decor with large plank floors. Comfortable seating and tables, with a nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and cared about our time there, she wasn't just going through the motions. The meals were good with large portions. The oriental salad with Shrimp looked and tasted great. The chicken pot pie look great and appeared to be home made. My cheeseburger

Went there to eat with 6 people. We're turned away saying they had no tables available. In the front of restaurant they had 9 empty tables. Down the side they had 8 o 10 empty tables. But none for us. Not sure how many empty tables inside restaurant but l seen plenty empty tables. Don't know if food is any good or not. But the service stinks. I guess they didn't want our money. Can't stay in business turning away customers. Won't recommend this place to anyone.

We were driving through Cobleskill and decided to call ahead for a late lunch to ensure there was space. The answer was a resounding yes that we should stop by, but upon our arrival, we were accused of not providing a name for the reservation and told there was nowhere to sit despite dozens of tables being empty. This entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth, but it wasn't the last bad taste that afternoon. The food, while not bad, was definitely of a poorer quality than one would expect for the price and location, was not well plated, and almost universally had unnecessary ingredients

First time in town for a getaway weekend. I am originally from Argentina, but I live in Manhattan, and my boyfriend is from Orange County, NY. We loved the town; glad we decided to go to bill’s head for dinner last night. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a great history. Food and service are excellent!! We definitely will come back!

Cobleskill is a convenient halfway point to meet with family, therefore Bull's Head Inn has been a consistent location for birthday celebrations over the years. It never disappoints! The food is so consistently delicious and a pleasure to enjoy in this beautiful setting. We've been fortunate to have Kim take care of us over the years, who is fantastic - but everyone has been so helpful and attentive.

Very good. We were running an errand in this neck of the woods, so to say, and decided to indulge. We are glad we did. Parking around back was easy. The place was clean and very traditional Inn feel. The waitress/ bartender was pleasant and she lit the fireplace for us. The menu is diverse and there is sure to be something for everyone. The Rueben Spring rolls were good, as well as some pickle spears. The Crab stuffed shrimp was something I hadn’t had before and decided to go with it. Delicious. Next time I’m getting the Crab BLT! Will definitely stop again next time in the area.

I came for lunch. The service was very slow, and a regular customer at the next table said there was a large group in another room. The server did apologize for the slowness, so I might give them another chance. If I do, I will not order the same dish. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were excellent. But the chicken was over cooked and dry. Great historic atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Worth another chance.

Since I work most all the fall and winter holidays, we always go out to have a good dinner somewhere before I go to work. That somewhere for the last several years has been at the Bulls Head Inn in Cobleskill. They put out a tremendous buffet dinner for New Years, Easter, Mothers and Fathers days, Thanksgiving and Easter too I believe. I have to comment that the Turkey is the best around along with the Prime Rib and this is all you can eat. I have brought several family members along for the ride with no complaints. The staff there are very good and personable. When I forgot to get gravy for the
