204 Main Bistro is a modern restaurant serving fresh, locally-sourced food in historic Sharon Springs, New York. Located near the Beekman 1802 Mercantile and The American Hotel and established in 2011, the Bistro is the culmination of a lifelong dream for owners Jim Grinchis and Norm Phenix. Spending time with his mother in the kitchen learning to cook are some of Norm's fondest memories.
It was during those times that he developed a passion for cooking and an appreciation of freshly made food using simple ingredients. Jim found early on he had the restaurant business in his blood, honing his skills working in various restaurants in Manhattan and Boston. Medjool dates stuffed with fried almonds, wrapped in thick-cut bacon on a bed of greens with maple lime vinaigrette.

My partner and I recently moved to the area from Schenectady. One of our biggest concerns was losing proximity to good restaurants and fun things to do so when his birthday came around I was pretty nervous about finding a great place to eat. I did some research and after reading reviews settled on 204 Main and boy did we luck out.
The menu was beautiful and every. single. thing. was absolutely amazing. The drinks were fantastic, especially the Bee’s knees. The starter, entrees and desserts were masterful. The atmosphere, service, and pricing were perfect.

We were staying at The Nash, but had 4 other locals say 204 Main was the best food in the area. They aren't wrong. Had dinner both nights we were in town and booked a third night so we could try more of the menu. The bartender Emily made delicious beverages, the clean, warm, interesting decor was welcoming, the service was friendly and excellent. Local ingredients, nice variety on a small, exquisite menu, well priced. Also good wine list that's very reasonable. Start with the Gnudi - pillows of perfection over an heirloom tomato deliciousness. The short rib and schnitzel were our favs. Norm is
