Energy is the working capital that helps us to experience our inner vitality to do great things. In business and in life energy translates directly. My Yoga journey began reluctantly just four short months ago; I was unsure of what to expect, how my body might react, or if it would be something I would enjoy on an ongoing basis.
I'll never forget feeling overwhelmed at the beginning of my first class --- unsure how I would ever keep up with the instructor, let alone maneuver my body into some of the poses! I also remember with clarity the end of my first session and how my mind/body felt after an hour and fifteen minutes of "ME" time.

At Sumits Hot Yoga we understand the healing benefits of the heat. The body protects itself from injury during physical exertion by generating heat inside the muscles. When the heat is present upfront, the body is protected even further. All Sumits Yoga classes are done in a heated environment. Heat thins the blood which increases the heart rate, making hot yoga an excellent low-impact cardiovascular workout.
Come to class on an empty stomach. Most people find they need to leave at least 3 hours between their last meal and the class. Stay in the studio during class. Feel free to sit or lay down if you feel dizzy or nauseous. As you build the ability to focus your mind and still your body, the struggle will disappear.
We are located at 2680 S. Glenstone, in the Brentwood Center. Our studio is fully equiped with men's and women's changing areas and showers, and please feel free to take advantage of our ammenties while you are at the studio! We welcome all students over the age of 15 at Sumits Hot Yoga, however, if you are under the age of 18 you must have a parent or legal guardian sign for you.

Everything about Sumits is welcoming and empowering! I always leave feeling stronger, mentally and physically. All of the instructors are wonderful, kind, supportive, and encouraging! If you haven't been, you definitely need to try it. They have also taken a lot of wonderful steps to ensure the health and safety of all of their yogis during this pandemic! It's reassuring to know that they care so much about the health of their community!

Sumits is my yoga home. Their commitment to respecting everyone's experience is so apparent in each class. There is no speaking, no cell phones, etc. in the yoga room. The environment is inviting and safe, and most yogis truly check their egos at the door. The instructors are among the most talented in the area; in fact, I drive 45 minutes each way just to take class here. Each time, I feel mentally and physically refreshed and glad I came.

I was visiting Nixa (a town beside Springfield) over the Christmas Holidays and came to Sumit because they got really great reviews on Yelp. I was very very impressed. Their hot studio is beautiful and they had a super full class on a Sunday morning! They've definitely got a following and I can tell why!
I will be back again next time I visit from Houston!

Sumits is my yoga home. I have been practicing here for going on 5 years. The community is very welcoming and friendly. I do love the structure of the classic 80 minute Sumit series. Sumit series class always stays the same. So it is a great way to check in with yourself mentally and physically. My favorite is the flow classes on Monday Saturdays & Sundays are always fun and change.

My experience with yoga is slim to none, so I am as beginner as beginner gets, but the atmosphere and instructors at Sumits are outstanding. It is clear they are very in tune to what each person in each class session needs and their level of practice. I know a lot of people don’t try a new gym or yoga studio because change is scary and sometimes intimidating, but if you are even considering practicing yoga I highly suggest Sumits (especially for those just beginning, since that’s what I can relate to most).

I’ve moved away from Sumits and realize just how incredible this studio is. Since beginning a job that consists of traveling, I’ve gone to numerous new yoga studios (all over OR, WA, AK, MT, etc.) and none have come close to providing the happiness that Sumits in Springfield provides. Not only is Sumits the best physical and mental work out, but the staff make you feel like family and Are so welcoming. It’s a non judgmental zone where you can lose your stress and get a top notch workout in while having fun. If you are in Springfield and love hot yoga, you must go here as it beats out, in

I've been going to Sumits off and on since I started my yoga journey 5 years ago. At first I preferred another studio but as I developed my practice I started to favor Sumits. Now you'll hardly ever catch me practicing elsewhere. The aura of their studio is very calming. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because I'd like to see more creative flow classes versus the Sumits Flow.

OMG!!! I finally decided to branch out today and expand my yoga practice from inside my living room alone and/or with my daughter, to a group setting with an actual teacher....and let me tell you what, I am more than ecstatic about my experience here today. What an awesome practice. Angie was more than phenomenal, I felt comfortable and accepted, this is a total no judgement zone, not to mention I got to push myself to new personal goals! The price is reasonable, the atmosphere is peaceful and safe and friendly. They've got a new loyal customer right here!

Sumits yoga is my second home. I took my first class seven years ago that made an impression on me for a lifetime. The moment you walk in you are instantly filled with overwhelming joy. It is almost "dream like" because everyone is so incredibly happy but it is a reality. There is just not enough good things to say about their staff. Each and every single staff member there is truly devoted in their work and in you. They are absolutely wonderful. If you have never tried Sumits Yoga, I'd say what is stopping you? Try it out. What do you have to lose? You truly will not regret the experience.

Sumits is amazing. I had done yoga on and off for years but I started doing yoga consistently December 2015. All of the ladies at sumits are amazing instructors and I've grown so much in my practice over the past 14 months. Sumits Yoga is for anyone and the instructors offer variations for beginners all the way to experts. Ive been to a lot of other studios, local and out of town, and Sumits is by far my favorite. Go try out one of Angie, Nikki, or Stephanie's classes and sweat your butt off! <3

I recently attended the Sunday, March 20, 2016 Yoga Sculpt class with Megan as the instructor and I will say that I enjoyed the experience-though I was also humbled- of the high intensity flow of this class. I have done Bikram Yoga in New York City, NY and Monterey, Ca. and Summit Hot Yoga is hands down the best place I been for this type of atmospheric yoga. I wouldn't say I am a Yoga aficionado however, I do regular Yoga at least once a week so I was pleasantly and breathtakingly surprised as soon as we started, all the while the intensity increased at a progressive rate. I have interested in hot yoga for a couple of years but intimidated by the "hot" part. I was lucky enough to see an email offering a great deal and signed up. I was greeted with smiles, a warm welcome and a tour even though they were busy before the class. I have been back the last 5 days and am now a junkie! I love the environment (clean, relaxed and not intimidating one bit)! I still can't go through a whole 80 min class without taking a break and going to child's pose for a min, but no one cares or makes me feel bad. I finally found a place where the world doesn't demand anything from me in

This place is so wonderful! I've always been a bigger fan of not-hot yoga than hot yoga, but Sumits has changed my ways. Every person who works here is so welcoming and oozing with positive energy (and not in the weird cultish yogi way). The $5 community classes are pretty much always packed, but they really make it work. They always play really awesome music that totally goes with the flow of the vinyasa.
Also important: it somehow always smells good in there, never like a sweaty locker room.

I live in LA and have access to lots of great studios. I am an avid yogi. Sumits was my first studio. I recently visited and it was awesome. Their new studio is so beautiful. The staff is kind and so positive. You can tell they are a real family. All the classes are excellent, but I highly recommend Angie's class. She's amazing! Be prepared to sweat and enjoy this beautiful studio! It's fantastic!

FYI, the location of this yoga studio has moved to 2680 S. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield. I went to the class where they combine Bikram moves with Vinyasa flow in 80 minutes. It was fabulous. I only wish I could find this kind of yoga where I am from in Detroit, MI. If you are looking for a great workout that is very motivating, I would come here.
Great shower facilities as well...I had to drive an hour back to my Dad's place so the shower availability was much appreciated.
Not only that, but they were kind enough to waive my mat fee because I had to wait so long in line to pay. (Giving

Time and time again the class's and atmosphere at the yoga studio are beyond outstanding. The instructors are VERY educated and keep up on their practice. Each class allows you to dig into yourself and help clear your soul!! Chessy I know.. But very true! The class is something more than a workout. For me it's a form of therapy, a time for personal prayer, and truly a time to focus on me. In a world of crazy people, and a crazy schedule it's nice to walk in and exhale. This class isn't as easy as some might think, and it is a bit fast pace in some regards., but that is why I

This is the second Sumit Hot Yoga stuido I have been to within the last 2 months and both times I have a very positive experience!
The Sumit Hot Yoga in Springfield is tucked into the back of a shopping plaza, so if you're not familar with the area, make sure you use your naviagtion and leave in plenty of time.
The owner Nikki greeted my sister-in-law (who is a frequent guest) and I at the front door. She was very friendly!

Excellent gem in Springfield MO. While the instructors are all very fit, it is not a typical experience in a gym-type atmosphere in Springfield. There is no indication to not simply be comfortable with your body, whatever shape it may be in, or to over extend in postures (unless you just want to, of course).
If you find you have a lot of expectation (or anxiety), best to read up on what to expect before going. From their website, the internet, or other sources.
Then it's really up to you if your experience is negative or positive. Be okay with getting lost the first class (or even

I have been taking class at Sumit's Hot Yoga since July '09. I enjoy the class so much that I go 3-5 times a week. This is NOT the stereotypical yoga class where the lights are low and you sit and meditate to Yanni. This is a high energy cardiovascular workout that focuses on improving balance, strength, and flexibility. People if all ages and all levels of yoga experience attend the same class. The instructors are great and guide you buy verbal cues, demonstration, and one on one correction of postures. The most important thing is to try not to be perfect or to take the pose into an

Wow. I've never walked out of a yoga class before. If I could have run, I would have. Let's preface this by saying that I have practiced with Bryan Kest in Santa Monica, CA and a variety of other classes from NYC to LA and Santa Barbara and this was the worst experience I've ever had in a yoga class. If you like feeling like you haven't escaped the office, then go here. You will be doing yoga facing a mirror under low corporate looking ceilings with those awful, long fluorescent lights. However, I was willing to forge ahead with this class. Why shouldn't I? I just paid

Sumit Hot Yoga is a wonderful addition to yoga options in Springfield. I stopped in for several classes while home for Christmas and will definitely make a point to return when I'm in town in the future. The instructors were great, the space is nice, and the location is convenient. Also, the practice itself was wonderful...and hard!
I practiced ashtanga for several years and did some bikram in the past, so Sumit was my return from a 7-year yoga hiatus. Brutal! But it was great. I sweated like a pro and was madly sore the next day, and loved every minute of it. Funny thing - I would
