Sage Studio Yoga & Wellness features ongoing Yoga Classes in the Hatha and Tantric Yoga traditions. Yoga is a practice that combines breath, asana (poses), meditation and connection to the Divine to open you to a new relationship with yourself and the world around you.
It can increase health, strength and flexibility, relieve stress, deepen Spiritual understanding and awareness, and allow you grace and poise that translates off the mat and into everyday life. The word Yoga means "union". I will work with you to develop your own personalized yoga practice to help you align your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual selves into balance and harmony.

Services
Keep conversation in the yoga space at a low level and brief to honor other people seeking quiet for their practice. You have the right to decide if and when you will be touched, this includes adjustments to poses. You have the right to address any issues or problems with the teacher present or with the studio owner.
All classes at Sage Studio honor the 8 limbed tradition of yoga. We engage in Hatha yoga "pose based yoga" and Tantra, the deeper traditions of Spirituality that are at the core of a fully rounded yoga practice. All religions and beliefs are welcome here as we focus on the elements of spirituality that are applicable to all.
I guess I'd have to say the first time I did Yoga was with my mother as a child. She would come home from her class and show me poses. It was fun and a way for us to connect but I never realized how important it would one day be in my life. As I grew up and became an adult I practiced off and on with a variety of teachers in a variety of studios.
I started my Yoga practice in 2012 with the opening of Sage Studio and it changed my whole life. In October of 2018 I decided I wanted to dig into the deeper teachings of yoga and began training with Shane Knox for my yoga teacher certification with Yoga Alliance. There I learned about svadhyaya or self study, and I realized this is the essence of yoga.
Do you know the story of the lotus? The lotus flower, is a magical flower rooted in mud, surrounded by water and somehow finds a way to rise to the surface to bloom and grow. A lotus is a survivor, it pushes its way through muddy waters and finds the sunlight. Instantly, it was evident I had found my yoga home!

It never occurred to me that a yoga studio could become another home and the members become a part of my family. The yoga is just part of the package. Power practice or restorative, there is something for every level. Kind people who really care. A place to reboot. It is the embodiment of all limbs of yoga. Try it and you will keep coming back.

My experience here at Sage was pleasantly refreshing. I attended a smaller class (about 8 people, 35yr +) on a Sunday morning with a new'ish class theme -yoga for the soul. The people/community was just that- soulful & caring, practicing more traditionally, focusing on the spirit of yoga vs just asana flows. We held asanas (poses) longer than the traditional "American exercise yoga" most people think of yoga. Shane instructed and shared a lot in class personally and held space for the community to share as well, if they wished. What people shared was honest, real & refreshing

Wonderful! My sister and I have been wanting a yoga studio in Springfield (that would rival my personal experience in Buffalo, NY) and it looks like we've found our home.
We went to a level 1 Vinyasa class on a Saturday morning and were greeted by Shane. There were about 5 other participants and it was clear everyone knew each other. There was a wonderful atmosphere of camaraderie among the members, but even as guests my sister and I didn't feel excluded. In fact, afterwards a few of the members stuck around and talked with us, which was so nice!
Shane was great. He's more outgoing
