Our veterinarians and staff look forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. By giving detailed answers along with client education, our team provides exceptional veterinary services for Bellville and surrounding communities. James Crenwelge was born and raised in Doss, TX. He knows all about rural Texas living, having attended a four-room school house until the 8th grade.
Whether your animal family includes dogs, cats, horses or other farm animals, we're here to help in any way we can if an emergency occurs. Our hard-working team members from Bellville can take calls weekdays and weekends, outside of our regular business hours. Limited services between the hours of midnight and 7am.
We offer convenient online appointment requests for companion, cattle, and equine animals. Simply let us know the day and time you prefer, and we'll be in contact shortly to confirm your appointment. Though requests are not guaranteed, we do our best to accommodate our clients at Star Hill Veterinary Clinic.

At Star Hill Veterinary Clinic, we care about pets and want to keep them healthy and protected from dangerous and highly contagious diseases. Certain pet vaccinations are necessary for many reasons. Three-year rabies vaccination is recognized by the state of Texas and is required by law. Since our rural area has seen the occurrence of rabies, which is deadly to cats and dogs, vaccination is required yearly for our hometown clients in Bellville.

This is a great place to take your family pet. They use tender loving care, at all times. They took care of our little Bonnie girl, whom was a Chihuahua. She passed but we have her here in a little box that they fix for her. Now they're taking care of our Chihuahua, Todd. We got him from a rescue place in Katy Texas. He's a one-eyed puppy dog. Star Hill, is taking care of him now as they did with Bonnie girl. It's really a great place to take your family pet. Thank you, Georgia

Our son’s bucket calf for the fair was badly injured in an accident on the day of the progress show. Dr James met us at the clinic as an emergency and did the best that could be done at the time. With daily treatments sent home and one checkup, she completely healed with VERY minimal scaring. Our son was able to still show her at the fair!

On Thursday night, I thought I was taking my 13 year old dog in for the last time. He couldnt walk, had bloody diarrhea, and hadnt eaten or drank in days. I was sure this was it. 5 days later, he is home, better, and back to his old self. Dr. Stephanie went above and beyond so I could have this moment. Her kindness, professionalism, and perseverance made all the difference. Thank you so much Star Hill! My boy is home and we are over the moon!

Such an excellent experience! The staff is so friendly! We just moved to the area from out of state and really wanted to find a good veterinarian and we did! We went in for a check up in the morning left and was literally back in 30 minutes because our puppy cut herself. They squeezed us in stitched her up and we were good! Highly recommend!!

We take all of our rescues here along with our personal dogs. Most everyone here is so kind and caring. Dr James and Dr Stephanie are amazing at what they do, explaining their decisions and recommendations at every turn. Although a rarity, if Dr James isn't sure about the answer, he researches and reads everything about it. They treat each animal as if it was their own. I have 100% confidence in them!

They are there for you when you need them. My family and I were camping in Kerrville Tx and had an emergency with our dog. No vet in the area is available after hours and the closest emergency clinic was 1 and a half hours away in San Antonio. I called the emergency number expecting to get an answering service or to leave a message. One of the… veterinarians on staff answered the phone and talked me though how to handle the situation.
