Dr. Fred Schroeder grew up in a small town in rural Ohio. After graduating high school, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis. In 1978, he graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry. As a Big Blue fan, he decided to remain in Kentucky where he spent a year in Middlesboro, KY before settling in Lexington.
Here at Schroeder Family Dentistry, we take pride in being able to help your entire family with all their dental needs. This provides more convenience in scheduling appointments for every member of your family. We will take care of your child's baby teeth as well as their permanent teeth and supervise their dental health and growth.
When you meet someone, the first thing they notice is your smile. Bright, white teeth can vastly improve the look of your smile and instill confidence. Even with the best dental hygiene, eventually your teeth can become dull, stained, and discolored. Common causes of discoloration include: Staining foods and beverages, tobacco products, old metal fillings, dental trauma, medications, excessive flouride and aging.
Patients who have a fear of dentistry and/or had traumatic dental experiences can benefit greatly from sedation dentistry. It is also helpful for patients who have difficulty getting numb, have a bad gag reflex and/or very sensitive teeth. Sedation may also be recommended for patients who dislike needles and shots, as well as the noises, smells, and tastes associated with dental care.

I gave myself an early Christmas gift and had my teeth cleaned at Schroeder Dentistry. My hygienist Amber was so gentle that the only thing which could have made it better was a cabana, ocean breezes and sounds of crashing waves! Dr. Thad always makes me feel like I am his most important patient every time I go into the office. I can't wait for my next visit. Really!

Most pleasant dental experience I've had in the past couple of years!
Went to a new place, dental hygienist was lovely, there were surprisingly many polishing paste flavor options and a comfortable setup for digital x-rays. Staff was thorough and kind through every step of the way, from explaining why my front bottom teeth are wiggly to how they were going to bill my insurance. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Thad and his staff are the best!! During my time in the chain they let me hold the suction thing to keep those plack chips from going down my throught, plenty of water for tending. in my homework bag they gave me this nice little pipe cleaner thing for between my back tooth thats been catching, suggesting I get it fixed but not emergency (yet) I only wish they had more stuff on the ceiling to look at.

I'm a new patient and the initial visit was positive. I was there to get a second opinion and my hygienist Rindy and Dr. Thad were on their game😊Dr. Thad was very personable, concerned and honest. I appreciated his chair side manner and professionalism. I will go back when the need arises. I got the impression he treats each patient with equal attention and compassion.

Diana was my dental hygienist and was amazing! She explained everything to me and listened to every concern. I felt very comfortable and didn’t feel like I was being judged which is not a quality every office or dental employee has. I only go to the dentist when it is an emergency because I don’t like the way I end up feeling. The dentist was also amazing. He didn’t do any dental work but he sat down and talked to me and explained all of his concerns as well as his plan to fix them. I felt very welcomed by everyone in the office and I will definitely be back to keep up with my cleanings every

I've had extreme anxiety since I was a child when it came to having dental work done. As a result, I put off having my teeth fixed for quite a while, which only made my problems worse, and made me more self conscious.
My dad, who has been coming to Dr. Schroeder for years, recommended I give him a chance. I'm so thankful I did. Not only was he kind and personable but he was able to keep me calm, and comfortable (which I greatly appreciated as I had several hours of work that needed done). My family have been going to Schroeder Dentistry for 12 years. I have always been treated like family and feel very comfortable getting anything done. My 2 kids love going to the dentist and that’s amazing. They look forward to cleanings, they know everyone and feel at home in this office. The staff are amazing and we have developed many wonderful relationships with this wonderful office. I recommend them to everyone looking for a Dentist.
