Dr. Neil McAllister has over 30 years of experience providing solutions to the most challenging vision and contact lens problems and has a reputation for giving quality care.
Routine eye and vision exams are a crucial part of making sure that your eyes are healthy. When you have these exams done, your eye doctor will check for signs of eye problems that you might need to correct, such as vision problems or underlying eye conditions. If you have any issues with your eyes, you can go over your treatment options to protect your vision or improve it as needed.
Our digital refraction technology includes wavefront refraction with the same sensor technology used to focus space telescopes in addition to standard rotary prism infrared refraction. To ease the patient exam experience our optometrist uses digital phoropters. We also have a digital lensometer, field analyzer and more.
Visual acuity is tested to measure vision without glasses or contacts and with existing vision correction. Color vision is measured using electronically presented color targets to detect diseases of the eye or genetic weaknesses of color vision. Wave Front (Hartmann Shack detector) refraction analysis provides a measurement of how uniformly light is focused into the eye.

Powers Eye Center made 3 sets of lenses for me for 3 different frames. I was able to use 2 of the lenses they made for me.
I have replaced 4 of the 6 lenses that Powers Eye Center made for me because the prescription was switched.
The Rx in the left eye was good for right eye and the Rx for the right eye was good for left eye.
I will never again give the staff there the opportunity to be rude to me.
If this shop decides to refund my money for the 4 lenses, I will gladly mail the 4 lenses back to them.

Honestly the best eye doctor I’ve ever had. They have a big staff so they run efficiently and quickly, they’re all knowledgeable and helpful, and the doctor is so calm and personable. Really impressed with the service and I felt very taken care of and my time was respected. My family and I will be going back for sure.

I have been looking all over for a new optometrist and found one here. I have never met a more professional staff in any other place than the people that work here. After I checked in Rachel made me feel right at home and treated me the kindness and respect and answered all my questions that she could and found the answers she didn’t know. Everyone that works here has the highest level of professionalism I have ever seen, and will always go the extra mile to help you.

My husband has been a satisfied customer of Powers Eye Center for over four years, so when I needed a pair of prescription glasses, I knew where I wanted to go. I made an appointment, had a pleasant eye exam with the friendly staff, and was assured that I would receive my glasses in 2 weeks. After waiting 11 day’s I decided to call for an ETA on my glasses. I was told that the original lenses had a defect and needed to be replaced and that I would not get my glasses for another week. Great experience! The VA set up the appointment, Power’s Eye Center did the rest.
Dr. McAllister was very thorough and explained everything to me in term my caregiver and myself could comprehend.
To my amazement, he has the most up to date equipment I’ve seen.
After testing he showed me my eyes on a big vertical monitor screen (something I’ve never experienced at the big father eye clinic nor the military clinics world-wide)!
Upon picking up my prescription, the Optician carefully presented my new glasses, very, very courteously (rare these days), explained the care and cleaning instructions

This is my second year with Powers Eye Center and I absolutely love it here!! I was able to do most of the required paperwork ahead of time, so check-in was quick and easy. They are also taking extra precautions due to COVID, and all of their eye testing equipment was clean and sanitized. This made me feel quite comfortable. I would highly recommend Powers Eye Center to anyone in need of an exam.
Also, I did not purchase glasses there but it did look like they had quite a variety to choose from.

Best place to get an eye exam ever! I have seen many optometrists over the years. After seeing Dr. McAllister I will never see another optometrist again! He is the kindest doctor I have ever met & very thorough in his examinations. The office staff are also super friendly & helpful. They always make sure to get me the best deal possible on my glasses and contacts. If you are still on the fence about whether or not to go to Powers Eye Center, I would say give it a try, you definitely won't be disappointed!

My experience at Powers Eye Center was so great! I had no wait at all and they moved through the exam professionally and quickly. I felt like the Doctor was thorough; making sure that my prescription was going to be the best fit for my work as a professional photographer. I appreciated the attention to me as an individual person. And the office staff was so focused on making sure I ordered the exact lenses and frames to fit my needs.
