In 1957, Dr. Stuart A. Fox, V.M.D. purchased the practice and relocated his family to the Glenside property that served both as veterinary hospital and residence for the Fox family for over a decade. Stuart's son, Dr. E. Mark Fox, received his V.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and soon joined his father's practice, eventually purchasing Rau from his father in 1986.

This was my 2nd visit and my first time I was able to accompany my Lab into the facility. Dr. Murphy was very thorough and explained exactly what was going on with my dog. She provided meds to help with the arthritis in her hips and knees and even recommended sticky paw pads as a way to give her the stability and confidence she needs to walk on hardwood floors without collapsing. They work great! We were taken into the facility immediately upon arrival and did not wait to be seen.

Rau has been our vet for well over a decade. They are professional and friendly, and always listen to my concerns and questions. They always follow up a sick visit or procedure with a call from the nurse the next day to check in and address any issues. They are taking good precautions for Covid to protect themselves, the pets and their customers. The office is always clean and well kept.

I recently rescued a greyhound and this practice was recommended to me. Every visit and every phone call has been handled so professionally and I am so grateful to all who work there. The atmosphere is cheerful and all staff terrific. They take amazing care of my dog and I would recommend this practice to everyone

The entire experience was the absolute best.. From my initial call to the moment I walked out the door. Terri got me in the next morning when everywhere else I called would have me wait 2 weeks, she called out of concern and got me in.. Dr Jill, my hero! Caring, knowledgeable and the best vet ever! I'm happy to travel to PA from MD for routine visits and would only use someone closer to home if my Baby Girl was in crisis.. Thank you all for the love Layla and I received. You guys are Rock Stars! Layla is doing Soo much better and she thanks you too much❣

They have great covid safety protocols. You pull in to a numbered parking space and someone comes out to check you in.
They come out and take your baby pets in. They then correspond via your cell phone.
You even pay for the visit via your cell phone.
We took our baby kitty in and felt she was in good hands as we worked through diagnosing her tummy issue. And while the do not have ultrasound capabilities here, the referred us to a hospital who could.
