What if it is my first time to yoga? Welcome to your practice! At Swan River Yoga, we welcome all bodies and all ages. Please let your teacher know about any injuries you have and start with a beginner's class, listed below. To relax, dissolve stress and anxiety, and become more grounded, a restorative class is a great option.
A balance of inspiring, challenging, invigorating flow based sequence with an attention to brilliant alignment & mindful anatomical form. Ignited by clear fluidity and producing inner warmth, this challenging, dynamic and long held pose sequence is linked by breath, and balanced with both creativity, play, alignment and skill.
We recognize this to be an important time. We are shaping history in this global awakening. Because of this, we at Swan River Yoga are doing all that we can to bring you access to conscious provoking practices while you responsibly stay at home.

If ever it is difficult for you to make it to class, or you just want a few classes that you can keep and have quick access to while in quarantine, or even after, these recorded classes by the co-owners of Swan River Yoga are for you.You may want to keep these classes in your library, as later, it will be interesting to come back to these classes during one of the most impressionable times of our life.
A private asana session is suitable for multiple reasons. Private sessions benefit those who are unsure of entering the public setting yet, for those with very specific concerns and questions about their body, and for those who would like more one-to-one attention and time to ask questions. Individual time with a qualified teacher is a rare gift.
Our Swan River Beginner Classes are created to mindfully serve all students in the evolution of their practice with confidence and safety by exploring yoga poses with clear, slow instruction focused on foundation, alignment, and form. With two levels, we provide step-by-step instructions to aid in healing or preventing injury.

Absolutely beautiful space in an old library, and I really loved the authenticity they bring to the practice.

LOVE this place. The staff is super nonjudgmental and helpful. The perfect place to go if you’ve never done yoga, I highly recommend this studio. They made me feel right at home and as if I could be without interference.

Really wanted to love this studio because the actual space is gorgeous but the class I took, 4:45 on Thursday was extremely basic, I dont consider myself a hard core yogi at all and wouldn't even feel comfortable taking a intermediate class at another studio, but I left this class feeling like i learned and accomplished nothing, the teacher didn't really seem to know what she was doing an kept getting confused, she did zero adjusting during the class and mostly walked around aimlessly. I really should have known when there was only 3 other women in the class, if the studio had a first class discounted

My favorite yoga place! I always feel comfortable and not awkward (like some yoga studios). If the teacher doesn't know you (or me) they always come and say hi, before class. Great place and people, great yoga.

I had a great experience at Swan River Yoga on Canal St recently. Being a beginner, I was a bit hesitant and the staff made me feel comfortable. Thanks!

I went into the center's store - the Bhagavad Gita for sale was not Srila Prabhupada's. Instead they had for sale Radhanath Swami's book and a Gita with some other commentaries. I found this to be very, very sad. Do the Swan River Yoga owners just not get it?

The Swan River mandir is a place of peace and healing and growth. I am new to all of this and have seen amazing changes in my body and spirit in just a month's time. I also am grateful to Good Karma cafe downstairs. Their blessed vegan food is transforming me.
So many different levels of yoga; so many different instructors. Come to Swan River. You'll be glad you did. <3

This is one of the most beautiful studios in the city, with three floors and lots of open space. The quality of teachers is excellent, and they offer Jivamukti, Anusara, and their own Swan River styles, plus other classes, workshops, and cummunity offerings.
