I have stayed at the Magnolia many times over the last few years. The last time I was there it did look shabby and not too clean but, you could not beat the price. One night I can deal with it. Last week I booked on line. That might have been my mistake. I got Room 125. It's the last room on the end. It's very small compared to the other rooms. Ok, no problem.The door was damaged and did not lock properly, problem. The room was dark and dingy, problem. I didn't want to touch anything. The kicker was the bed. It was a large, lumpy, soft hole. I ended up lying horizontally along the headboard, where

This was a pretty basic hotel, and we knew that when we decided to book a room. So I wouldn't even think of nitpicking or comparing it to higher priced chains.
Location was convenient, staff was accommodating and pleasant enough. The room was clean and well stocked. We were pleasantly surprised that the AC unit was so quiet.
The only reason we stayed at a hotel was to get a few hours of decent sleep while travelling. With this in mind, I had to rate it a 4 because the bed topper/mattress was extremely uncomfortable- very soft and difficult to move around on.

We will be staying here for quite awhile during contracted work at Naval Base. Our room is really clean, housekeeping comes everyday to see if we need anything. Front desk is very courteous and Magnolia is pet friendly. Our room has a microwave, refrigerator and little table with chairs. The price is wonderful and there is even a pool!
