Fort Collins Preschool is a unique parent-involved preschool where families work together in a professionally guided preschool program and parents participate in their children's early education. With the training and guidance of our skilled and experienced teachers, parents participate in the classroom about twice a month.
Parents share their talents and skills in the classroom, creating a reassuring, warm and fun learning environment. The mission of Fort Collins Preschool is to provide a supportive and loving first group learning experience. Fun, stimulating activities encourage social growth and enhance cognitive, perceptual and motor skills.

Services
Late fees will be assessed for payments made after the 10th of the month. Online payment for extended day classes is only possible until 9 pm the day before the extended day class and your child must be signed up on the bulletin board. After 9 pm the day before the class, the class must be paid by check.
Parents, under the guidance of a trained teacher, share their talents and skills in the classroom with the children, resulting in a reassuring and warm, enjoyable learning environment-hence offering parents the opportunity to directly be involved in their child's early education. Adults and children are active partners in the learning process.
I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood from Colorado State University and have been teaching preschool for over 30 years. I have been the teacher at Fort Collins Preschool since 1991 and I love my job! Every day is a new adventure and seeing life through the eyes of preschoolers gives me boundless energy.
Fort Collins Preschool benefits from a spacious classroom that is divided into interest areas organized around specific kinds of play. Art is an important part of the curriculum. Every day, children find a variety of art materials available. Drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, and playing with play dough are not only enjoyable but also provide important opportunities for learning.
Fort Collins Preschool rents classroom space from the church and uses the kitchen, playground and other facilities, but the school is not affiliated with the church and the curriculum does not have a religious content. Fort Collins Preschool is unique in the fact that we incorporate the family into the educational experience.

Our family has been a part of this preschool for 6 years. The teachers are engaging and caring and fun. We enjoy being a part of our children's early education and learning right alongside them. Both of my older children have gone on to a rigorous academic elementary school - and I truly believe their success is because of Fort Collins Preschool.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to have my children attend Fort Collins Preschool- it is one of a kind. I've gotten to participate in my children's earliest 'school' experiences and just this month, when it came time for my oldest to meet his Kindergarten teacher, he was not anxious or scared (words I would have previously used to describe his feelings about separating from his parents into others' care.) Among other things, this is proof of what a positive association he has with school and teachers.
It is often overlooked how play develops many skills- from gross/fine motor

I am currently a Fort Collins Preschool Parent and we absolutely love this school! From the very beginning the school has been a comfortable home because of their two-year-old program where I was able to bring my child one day a week and stay with her. She was able to enjoy a preschool environment, a wonderful teacher and have the comfort of a parent with her while she was there.
We decided this schoool was a great fit for us and signed up fot the following year. Mrs Bonnema is amazing and prior to the first day visited each child in there home to read them a book and let them show her there favorite

My 3-year-old loves this preschool, and so do I. It's play-based, which is perfect for his silly and active personality, but he has also learned plenty.
After preschool this week, he taught me the word oviparous (don't feel bad, I had to look it up, too). He has also learned his alphabet and the other fundamentals, as well.
He is also learning about art and music, as there is far more deep enrichment at the school than one might expect from a play-based preschool. One of the photos I attached is a painting done collectively by 3-year-olds, and the kids also delight in music mornings.

We are so happy we found Fort Collins Preschool! Our 4-year-old son absolutely adores his teacher and comes home everyday with lots of stories and excitement and can't wait to go back. We love the parent involvement (and that the expectations are flexible and reasonable) and that our son gets to spend time around the other kids' parents as well. We love that it's play-based and, while arts and crafts projects are offered everyday, they are never forced. Our son thrives when he is given options and structure while also being able to play freely.

We love this preschool and I wouldn't choose to send my daughter anywhere else.
I absolutely love that we get to be involved in their school day during our teach parent days. I think it's awesome to be able to see what they're learning and how they are developing socially. My daughter has grown and developed socially thanks to this preschool. Her teacher and the other parents deserve an A+.
I have to disagree with a previous review on here. The toys do get rotated and new toys are brought in sporadically to change things up a bit. My daughter loves the ice cream station!

Fort Collins Preschool is a great school. We have two children at FCPS – one in the Intermediate Class and one in Junior Kindergarten. Both children love their teachers and are making lasting friendships. Whenever they go to school they are learning, being challenged and having fun.
But FCPS is more than a preschool; it’s a community. I am impressed with the relationships that my kids are building at the school with their teachers, classmates and the other parents (and in some cases, grandparents). I’m building those same relationships too, through my days working in the classroom. In addition

Both of my daughters have attended this preschool and I am so happy we chose it three years ago. With classes for two, three, four, and five-year-olds, Fort Collins preschool is extremely unique. The school guarantees you time in the classroom with your child. In exchange for your time you receive a huge discount on tuition! Unlike most schools you actually get to know all the kids in your child’s class as well as their parents. It is a wonderful community to be a part of & I can’t think of a better way to prepare your child for kindergarten.

This is such an incredible school we have been lucky enough to be apart of for the last 5 years. Both of our kids have learned so much, grown in many ways socially and academically. Social skills are something we feel are just as important as math, science and socials studies. Not only are these kids having fun being with other kids their age. But they are LEARNING as they play! The teachers truly take the time to help with each individual child and their needs. The parent involvement makes me feel better about their time away from home, plus what kid doesn't love having their parent and/or grandparent
