Because of health regulations, our in-person tour opportinites are limited. As an exciting alternative, we welcome you to take a virtual tour of our school and classrooms! This is a wonderful preschool. Parents help out once or twice per month which helps reduce the cost, and it's so fun to be in the classroom with your child!
The staff are fantastic and really have what's best for the kids in mind. Very play-centered which research shows is the best academic stimulation for this age group. I would recommend this preschool to any one in a heartbeat!. There is nothing more comforting than to hear affirmations from other happy parents!

Services
The First United Methodist Co-op (FUMC) Preschool has provided a high quality, nurturing and professional preschool program for children of the Fort Collins region since 1965. The strength of the FUMC Preschool program, the quality and commitment of our teachers and the involvement of the preschool parents, are the anchors that compel families to return year after year.
Extend your child's preschool day to 1:00pm with Lunch Bunch offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Your child will have the option of staying at preschool until 1:00pm. Lunch Bunch is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the first 20 children and costs $8.00 per visit. The children will be transferred from their preschool class at 12:00 and served a sack lunch, including drink, which the parents provide.
Two separate entities provide child care for siblings when a parent is working in the classroom - FUMC Nursery and Parent's Day Out. On Mondays and Wednesdays, child care is provided for younger siblings by the First United Methodist Church nursery. The hours are from 8:45 AM-12:00 PM. FUMC nursery is always staffed with at least two caregivers.
In our preschool classrooms, we strive to create an atmosphere of stimulation, opportunity, and discovery through curriculum planning. This plan provides a developmental and play based approach to the child's social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual development. Readiness skills in these areas are fostered as the child plays and works with other children.
Parents and teachers of FUMC Preschool work together to provide a quality, developmentally appropriate preschool program for children. Parents assist as classroom helpers, serve on committees, provide nutritional snacks for the classrooms and may serve on the Parent Advisory Board. Parents have the opportunity to work directly with preschool children in a formal educational atmosphere and under the supervision of trained professionals.

We've been so impressed and grateful for the growth our kids have shown here. Our son in Mrs. Elliott's 3-year-old class has had so much fun, and really loves Mrs. Elliott. Our 1-year-old daughter has had a terrible time being away from us, so Parent's Day Out was a challenege. The staff worked with us so sweetly and now she's happy to be there!

This is my family's first year with FUMCP and I couldn't be more happy or grateful to have found this school. My daughter is in Mrs. Epp's class and adores her. I have loved working in the classroom and being involved in my daughter's education as well as watching her social interactions.
My second daughter is too young to go to preschool right now, but Mrs. Epp makes a special point to interact with her at drop-off and pick-up and now my younger daughter can't wait to go to school too.
I really couldn't be any happier with this whole organization.

We love being a part of the community at FUMC Preschool! This is our 3rd year at FUMC and we continue to be impressed. The teachers are incredible---compassionate, fun, and genuinely appear to love what they do. The co-op model is a great way to get to know the other kids in the classroom and other families! We highly recommend FUMC Preschool!!

We love FUMC's Co-Op Preschool! The teachers are wonderful and being in the classroom with the preschoolers on my "work days" is so much fun! My son loves the experiential/ play-based curriculum. It's also great that they offer a Nursery to care for my younger ones while I am helping out, and the ladies who work in the nursery are awesome as well.

My daughter loves her mornings at FUMC Co-Op Preschool. Her teacher is terrific- organized, patient, great with the kids. I appreciate the variety of learning opportunities at FUMC - the day for kiddos (and 12 +/- classmates) follows a general routine, including a few art/science experiment stations, free play with a variety of blocks/games/painting/dress-up/play kitchen/books, thematic story time and group discussion, outside play, music... an amazing variety that feel very engaging & age-appropriate for the kiddos. We like the Co-Op aspect as well, which allows parents hands-on experience in

FUMC Co-op is a wonderful place and I'm grateful my children have gotten to attend. Volunteering in the classroom lets me know the other kids in class, learn strategies for working with preschoolers from the teacher, and keeps the cost low. My children have learned academically and socially, all while having so much fun.

We recently moved to Fort Collins from out of state and feel incredibly lucky to have found FUMC Co-op. My daughter has always been painfully shy and we knew when she started preschool it would either be a wild disaster or the best thing that ever happened to her. Because of the amazing staff and families at FUMC pre-school, we have watched our shy, timid little girl blossom into a confident and beaming preschooler. During her first weeks, she would turn away from her classmates when they spoke to her and now she actively seeks them out to play. As well as constantly bugging me to have them over

We are so glad to have found FUMC Preschool! This is the second year that my daughter has attended this school and our experience has been truly amazing. I love the Co-op model there because it allows me to be involved in my daughter's education while also keeping our school costs down.
Her teachers, Mrs. Elliott (last year) and Mrs. Bedard (this year) are truly kindhearted and loving people that also happen to be phenomenal educators. They have worked hard to ensure that the projects and activities laid out for the kids are always age-appropriate and inspire lots of creativity and imagination
