The hair style Dan Sanchez created for my wedding day was perfect! It survived the Maui humidity, windy beach and looked beautiful all day. Thank you for suggesting that I do the hair trial. I was hesitant to spend the extra money on the hair trial but it was SO WORTH IT. Don't skip it. Knowing what to expect on your wedding day because it was already decided, priceless. I am visiting my brother for the holiday and was desperate for some serious hair loving attention. I decided to go to yelp to find a salon. I stumbled upon Dan and couldn't be more happy with my haircut and the service !!!! He tells you his honest opinion if something will look good on you or go well with your daily routine ! He took his time and suggested tips ! All this with him knowing I don't live here and am only a one time visitor , although highly thinking about flying to Maui every 3 months for a haircut. Haha! Dan was just wonderful. We recently moved here from the mainland and I was very nervous to start with a new stylist. I had been going to my current, beautiful high end salon for 15 years. I chose Dan based on the many reviews I read. I couldn't be more pleased. My color looks amazing and my hair feels softer, I have been getting so many compliments. Dan is professional and charming and my several hours passed quickly in witty conversation with him. Price was about equivalent to salon price in Atlanta.

Okay here come the best Yelp review ever! So Dan is pretty much amazeballs! I called in the morning to ask for a haircut because, let's face it, my hair was as neglected as that neighbor who keeps a dozen rusting cars in his yard for years; sun scorched, broken down, wind blown, and in need of some serious TLC! I have chosen Dan's salon after researching South Maui's bridal hair styling places for our destination wedding on Maui (criteria: Kihei area and good reviews). Dan gave me a beautiful new do - I showed him a picture and he patiently spent hours foiling my long brown hair to blond, and then balayaged enough brown back in to give it depth and cut it into a great style that looked exactly like what I showed him. I'm pretty antsy and it was hard for me to sit still for all the foiling and processing, but he kept me entertained with stories about living on the island. Just moved to Maui and was looking for a new stylist. Found this salon with lots of great reviews. Dan gave me a great cut but the cost was 95$, which seems very high for my short hair. I called some other salons with 5 star ratings & the prices half as much. If you can spend the money, you'll be happy. I should have asked first. Wasn't expecting it to be more than SanFrancisco!

My boyfriend found Dan and his salon via yelp, and he had amazing reviews ~ so we called for an urgent "hair emergency"... (Basically I went scuba diving with hair extensions and my hair ended up as matted as a Golden Retriever who hasn't been combed in years!!)

I was on Maui for a babymoon, and had been pool swimming everyday for months. My hair was dry, and over-bleached, and hay-like. My husband and I decided to have pictures taken while we were there, so I booked an emergency appointment with Dan to have the colour fixed, have a cut, and hope he could make me look presentable.

This guys has some hair skills but is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He slacks on returning phone calls (unless he needs $$) and in general can't be relied on. He also won't accept payments until the day of weddings because he wants to get a large tip while the bride is walking on clouds on her big day. Overall, Dan is good, but not great, and definitely not worth the money. There's a reason good make-up people don't work with him anymore.... Unreliable.

Dan was amazing! My Fiancé wanted her hair done and we were traveling from Oahu to Maui in a few days. I wanted to add to the trip with a surprise appointment for my fiancé. Dan was the first salon I called to try to get an appointment. Dan answered the phone personally and was wonderful. He asked all kinds of questions about my fiancé's hair, I could tell he was passionate about his work and was visually thinking already what to do with her hair. I've stopped by the salon during my visit to maui for a last minute hair cut and coloring before my next destination and Dan happily accepted my last minute need for a hair appointment. He is very friendly, nice and accommodating, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable than a long, grueling wait. He listens to what you want and understands it He really pays attention to you and knows how to do hair. I came in for a cut and balayage ombre and I love the new look. Everything was spot on.

She did all of the hair for my wife's bridal party. It was amazing. I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful all the women looked.
She has done my hair many times over the years and I always feel bad when I get my hair done elsewhere because it never looks nearly as good.
If I was going to choose anyone in Hawaii to do my hair it would be Victoria. You really can't do better.

This review is for Victoria Hollen at this salon. Not only did she do my hair on the mainland (back in the day... Including the most beautiful spiral perm the early 1990s could offer a kid), but also did my hair for my wedding in 2012. She did it perfectly, knows how to work difficult hair like mine, and my only disappointment is that she can't do it more often (I live on the mainland). I recommend her for any hair service from the small things to the big projects.

Dan is fabulous! A gifted artist, and he has a great sense of humor. I have been going to the same stylist for 5 years on the mainland and was a bit relucatant to branch out and try a new stylist. But due to a crazy schedule I reached out to Dan while I was on vacation and he was able to see me for a cut and color and used balayage technique.....very impressive and he did an amazing job. I have teased my husband that I will be flying back to Maui every 6 weeks now on! I will definitely see him next year when we return.

We first met Dan for my hair trial and ladies, he is an artist! He sat me in a chair and within minutes showed me 4 or 5 different hair styles - each perfect and a totally different look each time! Dan is such a pleasure to work with! He did hair for me, my bridesmaids and mom on my wedding day & did an excellent job for all of us. He is blazing fast and excellent at his craft. I knew when I went in for my hair trial that I had nothing to worry about because even though I arrived 30 minutes late & gave him only 30 minutes to work with, he created 3 different looks very quickly (including curling my hair within that time) and helped ease any nerves I had about entrusting my hair to someone who wasn't familiar with my hair.

Dan is amazing! He stepped in to do my hair for my wedding when my previous stylist quit the day before for "personal reasons" - man, what a lifesaver and a blessing in disguise! He is so friendly, fun, and talented!
