The Community Park East project will ultimately establish a "recreational hub" within Strasburg, complete with amenities and facilities that the community has identified as top priorities. It will also provide a complete connection between the School District campus and the Recreation District facilities. We are in the process of applying for grant funding to develop the property. The Strasburg Metropolitan Parks & Recreation District was founded in 1974 by a group of forward-thinking individuals who were interested in setting the stage for an organized recreation district. This African proverb means that an entire community of people must interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. This includes encouraging kids (and adults) to make contributions to their village and their TRIBE. The Strasburg Parks & Rec District wants to promote a true TRIBE culture and has created a Community Clean-up program to welcome you to the TRIBE!
Drop-off your used sports equipment at the Rec Center anytime-we'll make sure it gets put to good use. Items Accepted: Cleats (all sports), Pants (Football, Baseball, Softball), Heart Guard Shirts, Football Protective Gear, Baseball or Softball Gloves, and Bat Bags. Strasburg Parks & Rec District offers multiple sports leagues throughout the year for kids, adults, and seniors.
Big D's Warriors Adaptive Baseball League gives children with physical challenges the chance to play and compete. The Punt, Pass & Kick USA (PPK) program creates a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls to compete individually against their peers in football skills. The competition is completely FREE!
