Services
Pine Plains Veterinary Associates was founded by Dr. Edward Sadler, who opened the practice on Farview Avenue in Pine Plains in 1932. His patients were primarily farm animals, but Dr. Sadler also treated pets in a small clinic. Today we are an American Animal Hospital Association member hospital that strives to embody the very best of the veterinary profession.
Rebecca assists in many ways, including working with clients, assisting in the lab, prepping patients for surgery, monitoring anesthesia and working with the doctors in the exam rooms. In addition to her many years of experience, Rebecca is licensed in New York as a Veterinary Technician and has a Bachelor of Science in Business, a Master's in Education and an Associate in Veterinary Technology.
The reason we have been successful for more than 80 years is because we are committed to keeping pace with the continually evolving nature of veterinary medicine. This includes keeping up-to-date with the importance and effect of vaccines on disease and the most recent advances in medicine, diagnostics and surgery.
When traveling for business or taking your family on vacation, there's enough stress without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved animal companion. This is especially true if your pet has a chronic or acute medical condition that requires a caregiver with some veterinary knowledge and experience.

We took our new puppy to Pine Plains Vet and were very pleased with their service and precautions taken with the post-Covid restrictions. A technician came to our vehicle to get the dog and take her to the doctor for the exam. The doctor then called us in our car to give the report and answer any questions. The technician brought our dog back to us and we paid over the phone. All very thorough and a safe and easy experience.

Sorry but I can no longer recommend this business. They were unable to book an urgent appointment for my dog . I made two separate calls after it became clear my pet was gravely ill.
Sadly, my dear dearest dog died that afternoon. While they're clearly not responsible for the passing of my dog, a different more accommodating response might have saved her life.

I could not ask for more from a vets office. The best vets my pets have ever seen, the girls at the front desk are very friendly and above all knowledgeable. Their prices are great and I feel safe bringing my babies here. They always fit my fur babies in an emergency and that is very important to me. I highly recommend this vet officials!

Just switched to Pine Plains Vet so my dog could continue seeing Dr. Holly Kalba. After two visits, I am very pleased with the switch. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and attentive. Sarah has been very kind to my dog. And Dr. Kalba has always gone above and beyond to save my dog's life and ensure she remains healthy. Making appointments has been quick and easy, and their availability has been easy to work with.

I can't say enough about this practice!!! I have been bringing my pets here for twenty years. I love the attention my pets get and the level-headed care the staff provides. I have never felt that I'm being pushed to make rash decisions, nor have I ever felt that my pets were being overly cautiously treated. Everything is always just right.
