I thoroughly enjoyed coming here until today. My wife and I came together for her first time and had an absolutely awful experience once we got into the yoga class with Dana. My wife has a medical condition and singled out by the instructor three times for not wearing her mask correctly. My wife was in the very back of the class, far away from anyone else. The instructor never welcomed her to the class, tried to accommodate her and then singled her out in front of the entire class. It was an extremely unprofessional and classless experience - and is borderline discrimination. We left the class

It's Heaven & hell all in one place. For an adult just getting back to exercising I just hope to survive each session. Past the hard work, which is the point, it's a very accepting environment, instructors and students alike. I feel mentally relaxed during the session and physical relaxed after the session. It's not the typical YMCA routine but I personally am enjoying this much more. Give it a shot...

Absolutely love Y2. I struggled for a long time finding a “workout” I enjoyed. You name it I’ve probably tried it and lasted maybe 6 months. I’d tried hot yoga in another city and enjoyed it but never made it routine, a friend brought me here 4 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever sense. It’s fast paced, challenging, and motivating and I leave refreshed and calmer than when I started. I’ve learned so much not just with yoga but about myself. I’ve tried a couple different classes other places (one highly talked about chain that was nothing but disappointing) and always leave thinking

**UPDATE: Several new Ashtanga Mysore classes being offered in Charlotte at different locations with trained teachers. Yes!!
If you can't get to a studio there are very good at home practice online communities. Knowledgeable & welcoming.
To be honest... I have not practiced at Y2 since last review so I provided the same rating as before.

Seems they read their yelp reviews. yeah, good job.
so, a bit more professional lately and one of the crazy ashtanga yoga mysore instructor left this studio to start her own. Maybe things are getting a bit better? The current ashtanga yoga head is amazing. I just wish everyone was on her level of care. The assistants so far are lacadazical and don't bother to introduce themselves. I've walked into mysore practice numerous times... no hello. no spot, nothing! And no front desk staff. weird way to enter into the am.
I do have to say that the Strength class is great. A refreshing

Y2 has been my absolute favorite home away from home for self care, movement, challenging “workouts”, inspiration and learning. The instructors are fantastic, highly experienced and the atmosphere with music and challenging flow is an awesome fit for me. The fellow students are also what inspired me from the very class. Chris and Joy are so encouraging. Dorie is my absolute favorite instructor at Y2. Since joining a couple of years ago, she has been the primary “force” that inspires me, and supports me. All the instructors are wonderful. I particularly like Dorie’s flows and sequences

This studio is my favorite in Charlotte! I appreciate the discount student pass offerings, which are helpful. I think the caliber of teaching is exceptional and I love the flow, heat and overall experience. I used to go to CorePower Yoga but feel the quality has gone down and appreciate the attention to quality teaching that Y2 offers. UPDATE: They suddenly only allowed undergrad and below students to use the discounted membership. I wish I could say I had a ton of money as a grad student but that is not the case and I would appreciate your allowing the grad students who are spending a lot of money

I love the flow, intensity, and challenge at Y2. I can't find those same qualities at other local yoga studios. While some might say it doesn't offer your traditional slow yoga, this is what I like and works for me. I've been a member for over 2 years and it has helped me lose weight and maintain my core strength for my physically-demanding job. I appreciate the package deals (buy 10, get 5 free) because it keeps the classes affordable and comparable to other studios. I also appreciate instructors emailing me after class!

I moved my membership from another studio to Y2 recently and I have absolutely zero regrets. The facilities are clean and spacious. The parking lot can be a bit of a mess (to no fault of Y2s) so save yourself the headspace and prepare to arrive 10-15 minutes early. This will give you plenty of time to find parking, check in, put your things in a locker, and a few minutes to get into the right headspace for class. For what it's worth I've practiced at A LOT of studios, and Y2's app and check in method is the easiest and fastest I've experienced.

The app is efficient and easy to use, all the staff are friendly and helpful, and the changing rooms are always clean. Yoga is one of the few activities I can still enjoy due to arthritis in most of my joints, and I go here almost every day. It's been life saving and life changing. The teachers are amazing. I love Y2!

Hot. Challenging. Grand. Clean.
There is a big part of me that craves a HOT power flow 1-2 times, and sometimes three times a week. I drop in for Rian Harris, Tanner and Sarah Pays classes regularly. I swear out what ever I'm working through. I challenge my practice to the point I'm comfortable (although some people seem to be pushing to a place that worries me.) I feel safe with these instructors and value this place just as I do my go to restorative and HiTT training yoga classes.
Hit Y2 for a challenging well rounded practice. Try and stay the whole class for the end is the yummy

I love Y2's yoga classes! Tanner really cares about the quality of his studio. The classes are consistently good so I can always count on a great practice. I also love that Y2 has childcare. It's a life saver! I wouldn't be able to practice yoga regularly without it. The childcare workers are caring and I feel good about leaving my children in their care. I loved the option of non-hot classes when I was pregnant. This made it possible to keep practicing and staying in shape while I was expecting.

Retail yoga. The yoga shopping appears decent. They do provide ice, water, mats, towels, toiletries in the shower, and plastic bags for your wet yoga clothes. But the front desk experience lacks, the welcome to the studio tour and orientation to hot yoga do not exist, the website is difficult to understand, class was difficult to follow, the assists were aggressive, and the instructor made a snarky comment to me at one point during another aggressive assist.
Days later, I still have lingering bruises from the assists. The 3 finger and thumb bruise on my thigh is kind of funny, but validates my

I don't get all the bad reviews. I had a fantastic experience here!
Since it was my first class I arrived about 10 minutes before class started. I was greeted immediately and started setting up my profile. When I was done, they told me where the showers/lockers were and the room my class would be in.
I loved the space! It's huge and the lockers rooms offer plenty of space for you to get prepared for class.
Yes. The class was hot. But that's what I expected! I didn't at any time think it was too warm. My instructor was Johanna and she was soothing and encouraging.

I came to Charlotte to take class at Y2 Yoga after my good friend raved about it - it was well worth the journey! We took a single shot class, and it was fun, challenging, and grounding. I took many a child's pose out of exhaustion and felt absolutely no shame doing so. Even though most of my fellow classmates seemed *very* athletic and clearly had done Y2 more than a few times, I felt welcome and accepted as a newcomer.
I also have to say that I loved the teacher's message during the class. He emphasized listening to your body and prioritizing health above pushing yourself beyond

I wasn't sure what to expect about Y2 given some of the previous reviews. Since I have ClassPass, I can be more selective about where I work out because I have so many options. If I don't have a good experience, there is nothing to tie me to go back. There is a reason why I keep coming back to Y2 though, and that is because I get an awesome workout with great instruction.
Yoga is a practice, which I think sometimes folks forget about. So, there is naturally variability in style and instruction. The style at Y2 incorporates music, which varies by instructor, but I always find that it

I was first invited for a free class by a friend of mine working at Y2. This got me quickly acquainted with the studio back in the day and also was my intro to hot yoga. The place was small at the time and they have since made some much needed expansions.
Despite the distance from home - a solid 25 minute drive - I still come back fairly regularly though I'm no gym junkie by any means! I've always loved the ambiance most especially in the lobby area outside the studio itself. The front desk staff seems hit or miss. The last time I went they were very friendly and helpful but I've

The Best and hottest Yoga studio in Charlotte. I am so, so, so happy that I took the dive and now have the UNLIMITED CLASS membership. I go whenever I want to and they always have something available. Most important, they let you make your yoga practice exactly how YOU want it, they just direct. It's so awesome. Very positive place! I am thrilled to be a newbie there and look forward to continuing my practice with Y2 Yoga. All of the instructors are ahhhh-some too!!! Thanks for doing what y'all do!
Oh yes, the cafe, I cannot wait to try it! On my to do list NEXT!

Y2 is amazing. Now that they've moved to a larger space, they have both heated and unheated classes which is wonderful. Whether a yoga class is good or not has a lot to do with the energy of the instructor. I've never had an instructor at Y2 that wasn't great at what they do, although I prefer some over others. I think it would be difficult to try Y2 one time and judge the studio; one really has to go for awhile to figure out which classes and instructors they prefer. With a deal like $39 for the first month for new students, it's easy for someone to try different classes and find what they like
