The Connersville Veterinary Clinic was established in 1959 by Dr. Wilfred C. Jackson. At this time it was located at 307 East Fifth Street. In 1970 Dr. Duane L. Keaffaber purchased the Connersville Veterinary Clinic. In 1981 he relocated the practice to its current location. In May of 1995 the practice changed from Mixed animal to Small animal.
In September of that same year an expansion was built onto our Clinic to improve our Boarding Facility. A couple years ago we went through another remodel. Our new facility has six Examination Rooms, a Comfort Room, a Cat Boarding Room, an Isolation Center, as well as the existing Kennels. Our Treatment Area was upgraded at this time as well to allow for more efficient treatment of our patients.

Canine Parvovirus affects the bodys ability to absorb any nutirents. This virus is transmitted either by direct contact with an infected dog, or indirectly, by the fecal to mouth route. Your pet can also be exposed to the Canine Parvovirus by shoes that have come in contact with infected feces. Improper Vaccination protocol and failure to vaccinate can lead to the Canine Parvovirus.
Heartworm disease has been reported in all 50 states. It takes roughly seven months, once your pet is bitten by an infected mosquito, for the larvae to mature into adult Heartworms. They then lodge into the heart, lungs, and surrounding blood vessels and begin reproducing. These adult heartworms can actually grow in size to about 12 inches in length.
Fleas are not just a simple nuisance. These vile creatures can actually be deadly, especially to younger or smaller pets. The flea is not specific when it comes to a host. It has been known to kill a dairy calf through heavy infestation. We have noticed that not many people realize that fleas can be deadly until it is too late.
Diabetes in your cat or dog is caused by the lack of the hormone Insulin, or an inadequate response to Insulin. After your cat or dog eats, its digestive system breaks down the food into components. One of these components is Glucose. When a cat or dog does not produce Insulin, or utilize it normally, their blood sugar can elevate.

My mom called in an emergency for her cat. Was told by the lady at the desk that she should take the cat to Indy or cincy and IF the cat lived she could bring her in Monday. The cat passed a little bit ago. The rudeness, the disrespect and the lack of concern from that chick at the desk is disgusting. I suggest hiring better help before you lose anymore clients. My mom has brought all our animals there for 40-+ yrs and NEVER been treated so disrespectfully and with such a lack of care and concern.

I recently took my dog here and am honestly surprised at some of the reviews calling them rude, greedy or providing of bad service.
The office staff was pleasant and informative, the vet tech was an absolute sweetheart who had such a calm and gentle nature to her that my dog was pretty much putty in her hands. Doc was very much the same - gentle, kind, patient with us when we had questions and willing to discuss a game plan for my dog's health moving forward.
The office visit was $45. Totally reasonable. While we were there I had her nails trimmed, they did a heartworm test, and I bought her

First of all I was not contacted about my dogs condition (he was kept overnight) I called the next evening and spoke to the doctor about getting my dog instead of them keeping him over again. I was floored about how rude and unprofessional he was with me, it was completely uncalled for as I was being polite and thankful for their service. I will definitely never be back to this place, lesson learned.

Everything seemed fine when we took in our dog which had been hit by a car, the next day I never heard back concerning his condition like i was supposed to. I called and spoke to Dr. Scott Keaffaber who was very rude and unprofessional the way he talked to me. Apparently he was mad because we were picking up our dog instead of them keeping him another night. I would highly recommend a different clinic all together.

I absolutely love the Dr here and the staff. They were so comforting and helpful when I had to put my cat down due to being attacked by a pitbull. They even sent me a sympathy card which meant the world to me. I don’t know any other Veterinarian clinic that would do this. I highly recommend Connersville Veterinary Clinic. Have been taking my dog there for 10 years now and will continue to take my animals there.

NO! There is a little Chihuahua that has to wait for two hours to see the Vet. Because they say it isn't an emergency... HELLO!!! He pulled his nail and he is still bleeding and plus he has other medical issues! Hey, I call this an emergency! If my Corgi pulled her nail and she was bleeding... and you wouldn't take her? I would be finding another Veterinary! Just Saying! 😡😡😡😡😡

We are not from the area and our dog cut herself and needed immediate care. I panicked when I realized there were no emergency clinics in the area but I left a voicemail on their emergency line. My call was returned quickly and was in-clinic within 15 minutes. I was incredibly thankful and impressed I was treated so well and quick without being an established client. We are moving to the area soon and will definitely continue getting care through this clinic.
