Plein Air Flowers is a small cut-flower garden born out of the simple desire to learn how to grow and design with beautiful florals and foliages. The garden was STARTED in 2018 in Chicago, IL and moved in 2020 to Asheville, NC. PLEIN AIR is French for the outdoors; an expression that means "in the open air" that typically describes an artist who intentionally goes out to be immersed in nature in order to depict its stunning colors and features.
There will be a variety of mixed bouquets that feature locally grown, seasonal flowers like ranunculus and peonies. Create your own beautiful Winter wreath with Susanna Lohmar, owner of Plein Air Flowers, as your mentor. A variety of foliages from eucalyptus, to hemlock, juniper, silver fir, spruce and cedar will be provided along with guidance on how to create a wreath that will look great and last a long time.
From the bridal bouquet and the flowers for your bridal party to the centerpieces for your dinner tables, Plein Air Flowers will carefully and cohesively dream up and execute the perfect flowers for your wedding day. We will work with you to determine what florals and foliage will best complement your color scheme and personalities.
Sourcing flowers from a local flower farm reduces your impact on the earth. Think of all the greenhouse gases you won't burn by buying your flowers locally instead. As an added bonus - flowers that are grown locally aren't wrapped in plastic and they even smell better and last much longer in your vase.
