I stayed at Hotel Rodney in Lewes, Delaware b/c l was a guest speaker at a Symposium hosted by the Lewes Historical Society. The conference room is spacious, modern, well-lit and comfortable. The lobby is warm and welcoming. And the rooms are cozy and well-appointed. Somehow they've managed to combine Old World charm with modern conveniences. Highly recommended.

While the lobby is clean and sparkling, I can not say the same for the room where I stayed. Checking the bed with a blacklight 2 of the 4 pillows had bio residue. Needing to sleep I stopped my search there. There was also this random splattering of what looked to be dry blood on the upper wall and ceiling near the window and bathroom door. The were dead bug inside the light fixture, as well as a thick coating of dust and dirt on the AC blades.

Nice hotel, even the dreaded lack of parking is easily solved by parking down the street in the free residential area, the drawback and why not 5 stars is if you have someone staying in a room above you the footsteps and movements are quite loud and it is especially annoying when it happens late at night and early morning when you are trying to sleep. Staff is great and you can't get a better location.

The staff are so nice and friendly! Everything was clean and comfortable. Even though our room was quite small, it was adequate and there was even a small fridge. The bathroom was beautiful. The best part of the place was the old style elevator! A more refined and elegant alternative to many of the typical beach motels.
