Services
Dr. Sorkin is an optometric physician, board certified in vision development and vision therapy. In addition to working with patients, Dr. Sorkin has served as Faculty at Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry, in a variety of positions including Instructor, Assistant Professor and Interim Chief of the Pediatrics & Binocular Vision Service.
Our center is dedicated to helping children and adults treat a variety of vision problems that cannot be corrected with regular eyeglasses and contact lenses. This includes treating lazy eye (amblyopia), eye turns (strabismus), and a variety of eye coordination and eye movement disorders as well as vision problems that interfere with reading and learning.
20/20 Isn't EverythingMost children have no idea how they are supposed to see. Therefore it is important that you know the signs that a vision problem is interfering with your child's ability to read and learn. One out of four children struggle with reading and learning because of undiagnosed vision problems.
Vision therapy is much like "physical therapy", but rather than treating the muscles of the body, it works on the eyes and visual system. It is an invaluable tool that has changed not only our patients' vision, but has improved many related areas of their lives as well. The first step of a vision therapy program is a thorough examination with Dr. Sorkin to determine if vision therapy is the best course of care.
Unfortunately, many people do not know the signs of vision problems that interfere with academic success. Most certainly, children rarely report they are having visual difficulties. There are physical clues that point to possible vision problems, but surprisingly, many of the symptoms that would indicate a person is having vision problems seem unrelated to vision.

Once again, thank you Dr Sorkin. I have been seeing you for over 10 years, you have as always helped with my Amblyopia. With therapy, and now with cararact advice, cordinating with the surgeon to choose the correct lens so that I have the best opportunity to see as
well as possible. I can see really well now and I appreciate all you help. Now you are helping my grandson with his glasses you are the best.

Doctor Sorkin and Mr. Bill are very kind and precise. However, a staff member was trying to consult with me about pricing despite the fact that I am only a minor and my mother was with me. Though this may not have been her intention, her mannerisms still conveyed a refusal to speak with my mother (who is not fluent in English). We look forward to a better experience♡

We have been seeing Dr. Sorkin for our daughters eye issues for 4 years now. He has always been so attentive and understanding. He has always been an advocate for our daughter and our journey in helping her with her SPD and associated problems. Lori and the therapists have always been super helpful and friendly. Great office.

Worst experience ever! I most definitely will not be returning to this place. To start, the front desk lady was extremely disrespectful and rude. She talked down the us in a condescending manner and it was uncalled for. I went to this location to attain contacts. I was tested and they prescribed me a pair of contacts. I trailed these contacts for a week and could see nothing. It was dangerous to drive with them on. I returned to let them know that I could not see and they send me home with another pair. This issues repeated 4 TIMES and I still have not gotten the correct prescription for my eyes

I don't know where all these 5 star reviews come from. I honestly didn't think he was amazing. He was actually kind of rude with me. The front desk lady was horrible from the minute she scheduled the appt. She shouldn't be working there if she hates her job so much. I really wasn't impressed with his practice. They had horrible frames. I had to go somewhere else. Sorry but the frames were outdated and way too expensive.
