The eye doctors at Blink Eyecare and Eyewear have over 40 years of combined experience in providing the most thorough preventative and medical eye care for children and adults. We are locally owned and independently operated in the Ballantyne neighborhood of South Charlotte, NC. We are not a franchise or chain store, and we proudly serve our neighbors from Blakeny, NC and Indian Land.
In order to make the transition to our office smoother for you, we have created a New Patient Center with everything you need to get started. In an effort to make you more comfortable when you arrive at our office and to streamline the new patient process, you will be able to complete all the necessary items prior to your first visit.
The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families in the Charlotte area. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses. A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.
Preventative and routine eye exams are important to maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, but can be diagnosed during your eye exam. During an eye exam, Drs. Henderson and MacIntyre will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, medications your are currently taking, any blurry vision, your work environment, and your overall health.
Your might be suffering from Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD). With BVD, one eye sees an image differently (vertically, horizontally-or both) than the other eye. The body corrects this by overusing and severely straining the eye muscles, causing the symptoms of BVD which include headaches, blurry vision, dizziness, difficulty with reading, learning and concentrating, and even anxiety in large spaces.

Yesterday was my first visit to Blink and my experience couldn’t have been better! I have a lot of anxiety going to eye doctors because I have an eye condition which requires specialized care. For normal eyeglass appointments I don’t typically expect much but finding an eye doctor that understands and assesses all of my eye issues is very important to me. Dr. Henderson went above and beyond my expectations and addressed my eye issues and concerns probably in even more detail than my specialist does! Dr. Tracy MacIntyre is simply amazing. When I was having issues with my eyes and vertigo episodes, Dr. MacIntyre took great care to find the right prescription for me. I would recommend her to anyone, especially those dealing with binocular vision disorder.

Haven't had an eye exam in 2 years due no insurance and covid. Got back on my companies insurance and went in for an eye exam. Completed questionnaire they sent me withy reminder email so when I showed up for my appointment I was attended to immediately and started my exam. Very efficient staff and was in and out in 20 minutes. Ample parking and they have a nice clean restroom.

Blink is awesome if you ask me! The staff was very cool and friendly, the doctor was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was describing and exactly what I needed!
Additionally, I had to leave for school and was pleased to find that my glasses had been mailed to me in time for the 1st day of class!

which is the reason for the 3rd star..
My issue is how the prices are jacked up for insurance. There wasn't a huge selection of frames and my wife found 1.. You guessed it, a $400 pair of frames. But every online retailer sells the same pair for $240-$252. I called back to serif Blink ever discounts the frames and was told they take insurance. So basically, I get $130 for frames and still had to pay full price for the frames. Bottom line is that Blink is a nice looking pace and a friendly staff.

Went to Blink for a 4:00 p.m. appointment. They were very friendly and courteous; took me right in. I went through the pre-exam...and they asked me to sign a statement saying I declined dilation, which I did. A bit disappointed that they didn't have Optomap. I would think an advanced eye care clinic in Charlotte would have this; the other vision group in Ballantyne that I've patronized for years does. Regardless, eye exam went really well...quick and efficient.

The professionals at Blink were thorough, knowledgable, and extremely helpful. We had had a horrible experience at another optometrist for my daughter, who requires prisms in her glasses. This is what personal service should feel like!! I have to say the Drs. and staff at Blink are wonderful and the best in their business. The whole experience didn't seem rushed; they went out of their way to make me feel like I was their only patient that day though that obviously wasn't the case. Dr. Macintyre spent the time to get to know who I was, and inquiring if I had been having any vision problems before giving me my eye exam. Once the exam was done I was brought back into the main part of the office which is warm, inviting, and provides a relaxed atmosphere to browse and choose

In my two interactions with this office, I have been very impressed with the service. Dr. McIntyre is one of the nicest, most knowledgeable doctors I have ever come across in the medical profession. She spent considerable time with me and made sure that all of my questions were answered. Never felt rushed - it's a breath of fresh air to visit a doctor's office where they are actually concerned about the patient. I would highly recommend giving this office a try.
